Welcome to the August Budget Challenge! We're here to stay within limits on our scrappy spending!!!

Our illustrious hostess Alissa needs a break so I am taking over for August - you might say some of us are guest hostessing for the summer at least! I just hope we don't have to bust before the month starts as part of the contract...

The rules: List your budget for the month of July that you want to spend on supplies. Then, list the high priority items that you want to buy this month!

The catch: You can spend your money on whatever you want, list or impulse, but you must buy at least half of the items on your wish list!!! For example, if you list 10 items, you have to buy at least 5 of those and have me strike them off your list, etc. Please, make sure to tell me when I am supposed to strike off an item!

Tell us how much you spend throughout the month, and I will keep track of it in this post. We like details about your shopping around here. No such thing as TMI! You do not have to include costs for adhesives, swaps, gifts or shipping.

Please enable and tempt us to buy the wonderful items we want....but don't tempt us to bust our budget!!!

TWISTED!!! List at least one thing you are not allowed to buy for the whole month.

SUPRISE!!!! I will send a RAK to one lucky person who 1. stays in budget and 2. buys at least half of what is on their wish list and 3. doesnt break their twist!!! Come on ladies, I know you can do it!

Hi Alissa - I am so new to digital I don't even know but I think for now I am going to focus on travel related themes digitally. I love old architecture and classic motifs.

Tanya you don't have to spend $50, that was just a sample - and some months some of us have budgets of $0 (Shayla even went 6-7 months without shopping).

It's just a fun way to make us accountable for our impulse purchases so we can stay focused.

Welcome Sonja!

And thanks Alissa - I'll be checking it out!

well I think I am doing a cross border run - Js has WRMemory Keeper albums on for $17.99 - I have to pay $39.99 minimum here for them and I need a few. They also have some adhesive I like for $7.99 and here it is minimum $12.99 - it is worth the price of a tank of gas just to get away and go shopping!

well I didn't go to the States - went to my LSS - and they had albums on sale and my Undu I needed and my adhesive - so I came away with less than I would have spent considering tank of gas etc and me and the dd went to Bingo tonight instead - but we didn't win.

Does it count if I bought a border punch yesterday? Cuz I did...
In my defense, it was a really good price, though it wasn't one of the punches I listed...

Wow Tina!! I love that sapphire glimmer mist!! I'm with you on that Courtney, no one around here sells decent mists, paints or the like. I have to go online for them or wait for a convention again.. The Expo I went to in April had a bargan booth and you could buy a pre-packaged pack of Glimmer Mists for $10!!! (I bought two and a half... LOL My gf and I split the third one b/c I had one of the mists in it already.)

Going to M's today - for my postcard punch ONLY! (Don't know who I think I'm fooling...) BTW, would you add alphabet chipboard/stickers to my 'To buy' list, please? And 1 paint/mist yet to be determined... Thank you!! And cross off my Storyteller's kit. It's on it's way to me!!

Awesome surprise by the way!!! I will really try...

You got that right, Courtney!

Well I made it back (safely) from M's and I'm SO proud of myself! I only got my punch and a sheet of type-writer letter stickers that I wanted! Also got a set of letter stamps out of the clearance bin and I only spent $13 with tax! (Truth be told, not having money helps curb your shopping quite a bit! ) LOL!

Of course the punch, but the other two are as close as I could find to reference what I got. Yaay!

I spent $8 on shipping yesterday. I used credits to buy paper and flowers but since I only spent my money on shipping it doesn't count against my twist. Loophole

Good morning...im up with the worms hahah working at the bait store this morning so Dom can mow the lawn and get a hair cut!

Sun is trying to peek through, but they are promising rain this afternoon. I kinda secretly hope for rain when im working so i can get some scrappy stuff done. The downside is when its your own business you dont make any money when its quiet haha!! i guess you can't have it all!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

ewwww Courtney - worms! I love to fish but am a lure person only cause I can't stand wiggly things or putting live things on the hook (or taking them off - someone else has to do that!)

I've added some new cards to my gallery, the one's from my A's class and a few with my new stamps. I can't get them copied and pasted here for some odd reason, have never had problems b4, but this site is very slow for me today.
Also I won't be checking in much for the next 10 days. We have several day trips planned and a cabin by the lakes for 5 days.
Have a great weekend!

Kelly is in the South Pacific!

Tina have a wonderful vacation - a cabin by the lake - I could use that for a day much less 5 days...I got some very frightening news from the dr today so please say a prayer that all will be well. I have a few tough months ahead of me.

lol Tammy well It seemed a lot later to me hahaha, It is pretty funny that it was only the third lol. I guess I busted last month so taking it day by day. Oh and I went shopping I spent $30 but we went to Disney world yesterday so I had to go shopping to get some supplies lol. Although I ended up getting so much more than just the disney chipboard I went in for. I did get pop dots, glue from my list and cardstock (black and white only) and I really needed that. I did get some PP and that was my twist but I only got 4 sheets and they were 20 cents... do I get points for that? lol..

There was this sale... at As... on STAMPS! But I only spent $16... but THEN.... I went to HL just to mosey and, would you believe, there was a 120 pack of Prismacolor pencils in clearance! Nearly $200 worth of pencils marked down to $57. Score.

busted
