Lisa lpeeps: can't you take the appliances with you? After only 2.5 weeks with nice new appliances, I never want cruddy ones again!!
Congrats on the pins, Mel. So, sb.com chooses layouts to pin now? How does that work with all the copyright hoopla & outcry now on Pinterest?
Will be caught up to here when I finish off my tabs.
Had a great day off with the MIL and girls; we visited the butterfly display at some nearby (somewhat, an hour's drive) gardens, and then walked through the sculpture gardens. We had a picnic lunch and lots of fresh air. Evie ran to play with her new friend as soon as we got home (I have never seen that kid move so fast, she's rather pokey as a general rule), and I got the Roman shade finished and hung in the dining room. Yay, one more curtain down, that makes 8 of 14, leaving two pairs in our room, one pair in our bathroom, another Roman shade for the kitchen, and then tab tops for the slider in the family room. And then the big decision--what to do with the huge, gorgeous bay window.
Morning ladies, sorry I've been MIA for a couple of days but since DH is on vacation I've just been hanging out w/him. Also today is our 31st anniversary and we're heading to Atlanta today for a romantic night at a B&B w/couples massages and dinner, then tomorrow we're heading to Banning Mills for some adventures in Zip-lining and hiking (daughter's idea)...this is a bit different for me but I'm up for it LOL.
Melissa hope you have a great birthday!
Will get ACU when I get back so try and take it easy on the scrapping ladies LOL.

Happy belated birthday to Norma and Mel (and by the way Hello Mel! another long time no "see"
Genie congrats on the new home! That is so exciting!! I'm taking the She Had Three Hearts class also but same as you, I just haven't really had the time to get into it Thank goodness for a year!
Eileen good news on the car fix front!
My DH had an emergent MRI this past Wednesday because he's had complete numbness is places he didn't have numbness prior to the surgery. Shows all is normal but now they've got him on steroids to decrease any inflammation that might be going on..I'm really hoping we're not going to regret the surgery!
Miae, oh no! hopefully the steroids help! and, hopefully its nothing more than just inflammation! keeping my fingers crossed!
Eileen- it looks nice here this morning. the sun is shining, but i'm not sure how warm it is. part of the province got a severe dump again the other day. i had a few phone calls from my mom and MIL wondering how much snow we'd gotten. we had none, but in the city and just south of us got like 2 feet of snow again. we were a little worried whether we'd get our kids back today, but so far it sounds good!
well, just checking my 'crack', and then i'm packing up to head into the city. have some running around to do there before we meet up with the other MIL and pick up our kids. hope everyone has a terrific weekend and easter, and i'll see you all again sometime later on!

Tena- So jealous of the zip lining! My youngest ds and I have both wanted to do that for a long time. We almost did on vacation last summer but we were the only two that would do it and it was super windy that day. It is on my bucket list. I watch the Amazing Race and love when they do something like that. I would totally do that show!
Miae- my dh threw his back out this last weekend. He has been putting off surgery for awhile now and after all his work on the house he just totally messed it up. They put him on steroids for the inflammation after 4 days of trying to tough it out and it did wonders. Not sure if that is great because now he says he can keep waiting on the surgery. I think he needs to get it fixed. He hates thinking about surgery so we agree to disagree on that.
What are everyones plans for Easter? We are hosting here. Our family all lives away from us so we have actually had 4 other families who are in the same situation over for the last 9 Easters. It is tradition now and will be our last here as we will be moving in 2 months. I made it a little easier on myself this year since I haven't been feeling well and ordered a large honey baked ham. Expensive, but worth it for the amount of stress it will take off. I just have to worry about cleaning and desserts now.
Things are now getting out of hand downstairs. ds has friends over since they are off of school and it is escalating into madness down there. Gotta love boys. I've put it off long enough... better go intervene and get off here.
Wow you ladies have been crazy busy these past 2 days...lots of tabs open.
Spent yesterday morning in a chat for my online class, went to lunch and out shopping with my sister, and then my dear sweet friend came over and helped me purge stickers and embellies from my stash. I got rid of a ton of stuff...garage sale this spring...hopefully I can sell some of it and then I am giving the rest away. I just want it out of my house. Lots of old stuff at least 5 years old and so not my style anymore. It feels good to get rid of some of it!
Busy today, did about 8 loads of laundry then ran out of detergent. Ugh. Still have about 6 more loads to go but that will have to wait until I get to the store tomorrow. Took a nap and now am ready for some scrapping! well, maybe.
Been busy busy today, this is the first time I've gotten on the computer all day. Looks like I'm way behind here......will work my way backwards on the LO's and chatter.
Went grocery shopping today and ran errands and then colored eggs with little man. Tomorrow we are going to the zoo because they are doing Easter egg hunts all day and also since we are members we get in free. So it will be a cheap and fun day. Yay!!! Just gotta keep that rain away! Hahaha (Yeah right)
Then Sunday, we'll hide eggs and watch ds hunt for them. I'm making a ham, deviled eggs, potato salad and green beans. Oh, and lemon bars for dessert! Since it's just the three of us, we should have leftovers for about a week. LOL!
Watched The girl with the dragon tattoo tonight -- saw the original swedish version. Think that one was better. I found the english version difficult to understand. They mumbled too much!
My Cooper (foster pup) has 2 applications. Wow -- can't believe it. ONe is so so -- so it's been denied. The other one seems great. So exciting -- thinking about how different his life would be if it wasn't for the great rescue I'm working with. I love this group.
Lisa, I'm glad to hear the steroids helped your DH! Before my DH had surgery, they injected steroids into his back and it seemed to help but only so much. The red flag for the surgeon was the one sided weakness. That seems to be their trigger for being more willing to operate. It's a tough decision. I guess we won't know whether we will/will not regret the decision for months
Ann good luck with your Etsy shop! How exciting!
Tonight I'm REALLY going to try and make a dent in the wonderful pages you ladies have been posting!
Lisa- the fam and I are finally back together, and we're celebrating with my family tomorrow at my moms (the kids are having their first ever Easter hunt tomorrow afternoon), and on Sunday we're heading over to DH's dad and step moms for lunch or supper. Then we're heading home!
The kids were so excited to see us/were afraid we were going to leave again, that it took the better part of an hour to get them to sleep. It's all good, though. I'm SO happy they're home!!
Will be acu to here when I catch up on my tabs; have to get in the shower for work now though, so it probably won't be til tonight.
Miae, I really hope the surgery helps your husband. Back pain is so hard!
Mel, I got you in other places, but happy birthday again
Anna, your profile pic is so sweet. I love it!
We'll be going to my aunt's for Easter; we usually do. I'm supposed to bring Jello. I kind of wish we didn't have to go anywhere; we've been so busy between moving and my Confirmation and Ellie's birthday, and Andy's mom just went home yesterday, it would be nice to just be here ourselves. But my brother and sister and their kids will be there, and I can't miss that.
So, off to work for me. Blah.
Beautiful day here too; going to shop with dd. We spent the last two days with her mil in WV--teased about mil bonding time. And, for Mother's Day, she bought me an I-phone--big adjustment from my five year old flip-phone lol.
Morning! We colored eggs a little bit ago, so now the day might be devoted to scrapbooking, lol! I do need to make a cheeseball and prep some cheese for a cheese tray for tomorrow's dinner at Jim's parent's house. But that can wait for a bit, momma wants to scrap..
I am going to apologize for this bomb in advance...especially since i give you all such grief LOL...but I have gotten so much done the past couple of days!! I am going to keep working tonight and hopefully most of tomorrow!!! Loving being able to have a creative weekend!
The kids are down for a nap before the party begins, and I'm about to start my famous mashed potato casserole (for supper tonight). Tomorrow, it's dinner with the other in laws (we got 3 sets of parents), then home to spend quality time with our children!
Enjoy your day everyone! Got my hair died and done a pretty for the get together tonight, and it's gorgeous here today!
Courtney -- no apologies ever needed. Bombs away girl.
Rebecca -- I can't believe how big Riley is. She is so freaking adorable-- lvoe that smile while she's doing the eggs.
Mel -- you're a scrapping machine!
I got my hair cut & colored today. I have super short hair -- she took 2 hours. I was losing my mind. Sadly it's a short trip!
Cooper did great at adoption fair. Got to see his adoption app -- looks great. Newly divorced woman (which is good since Coop is a bit scared of men) -- has several acres with horses. he loves the outdoors. Keep your fingers crossed for my boy.
Dropping in to say hi and catch up on layout love. Parents are at church with my grandma for their service. I am heading to mine tomorrow morning. (Parents are Catholic, I go to a Missionary Church) So I have the house to myself. Hoping to get a bit of scrapping done, but I am fading fast so we will see.
Eileen - Keeping my fingers crossed for Cooper. That sounds like a great place for him.
Rebecca - Love love love your paint challenge page...so awesome!
Genie - Totally understand about the wishing you could just hang out at home. I feel the same way. We are heading to my dad's brother's house for lunch and then my mom's brother's house for dinner...going to be a busy day. Just need to remember to actually take some decent pictures.
Had a blast at the zoo today. I am so glad we went early. Since the weather was just about perfect, it brought out a lot of people. I was a bit claustrophobic by the time we left and I was glad we were done. I don't do well around big crowds. But got some great photos!
Eileen~Hope the adoption works out for Cooper. Sounds like a good fit.
Hope everyone has a great evening. Off to leave some luv!
Both quilts are cut and I almost have the second shell done and my sewing machine decided it's done for the night! The thread keeps breaking for some reason and I haven't touched the tension all night.
I figure it's late and I'll go to bed and finish it up in the morning. I have literally one more border to go and I'm done until I get the batting and back for them!
