Hello lovely crafty people!
The basic idea for this swap came from Sassie via 2peas...thanks Sassie!!

For this swap, you will make a set of 4 of the item you sign up for and you will get a set of 4 back. It's that easy!

You can sign up for multiple spots in any group! Sign up for two spots...send in 2 SETS and get 2 SETS back, sign up for 3 spots and send in 3 SETS and get 3 SETS back and so on.

DUE DATE:
Sign ups will be open until May 7th! Now I know how busy we all are and since the majority of the categories will be handmade items, I am going to set the DUE DATE for JUNE 9th (not post marked, actually in my hands) so I can have them swapped out and back to everyone THAT FOLLOWING MONDAY! I am a real stickler for deadlines and due dates, so please be on time or your items will be returned to you. Overseas crafters are welcomed but your creating time will be less since your packages will take longer to get here. PM me for address if you don't already have it.

RETURN POSTAGE:
You have the option of sending return postage with your package or sending it via PayPal. The PayPal address is pebblesh (underscore) [email protected] If you send postage with your package please make sure you include the amount that it cost to get it here plus 3 extra stamps. If I don't need the extra stamps, I will send them back to you.

FLAKER CLAUSE:
This is usually where I say "if you don't plan on finishing, don't sign up", but I will sign up for each category so no matter what, if someone flakes, you will still get to swap out with me! And I'm no flaker! LOL

THE SPECS:
1. For the stick pins, you can use either use HEAD PINS, OR you can use CORSAGE PINS. PLEASE don't use any pins smaller than 2". Please use at least 3 beads per pin and make sure the beads are adhered to the pin by either using E6000, crystal laquer or Glossy Accents so they won't slide down and the glue dries clear.

2. For the binder clips, you can use between the 1" to the jumbo size.

3. The Washi Tape can be bought or handmade. Take strips of 4, eight inches long and adhere them to wax paper, clear acetate, non-stick foil...etc.

4. For the clothes pins, I was thinking along the line of the regular sized spring loaded ones (not the minis), but I have seen the jumbo spring loaded and the old fashioned slit ones. The choice is yours.

5. The toothpick flags are easy peasy. Your flags can be however you want. Rectangle, triangle...etc. Have fun with it.

6. For the altered paper clips. I recommend that you use the colored coated ones. They have many to choose from. Regular standard shape, spirals, etc. Either the small ones or the large ones. That's not to say that you can't use the silver or gold ones so the choice is yours.

7. The pearl flowers is totally up to you whether you want to use 5 or 6 base pearls. And since I limited on my video skills right now (lol), I've linked the video tutorial that I watched that inspired me to make it.

8. Let's have the Charm Dangles no longer than 4 inches and no shorter than 2 inches. Be as creative as you want!

9. Mousetrap message holder: This is a new category being added and I have not made a video tut for it yet but I will add a link to a pic that Johnniesgirl posted for me

10. Bottle Caps: This is a new category being added and I have not made a video tut for it yet but I'm sure Melissa can send me a pic to post until I get around to it!

Each set of 4 will be swapped TOGETHER. I ask that you don't make each set exactly the same. I think it will be fun to get a good variety to use on future projects. If you want to use the same color for your sets, that is fine as long as they are each a little bit different. I have tutorials posted for inspiration, and please let me know if there's another category that you think we should add.

What's that you speak of?!??! Work!?!?!?! What a novel concept. Hmmm...

Actually, I may have to start looking for a regular job soon. People are being very tight with their money right now (loosen up those pockets people!). I can't blame them, but I do need to make a living too. LOL. It's been slow going the past few months. I'm coming out with a new product line soon. Just tweaking the finished products right now. Hopefully that'll get some momentum built back up.

Erin, those are adorable! Did you buy bottle caps or recycle them? I've tried to hammer the edges and totally destroyed them. Do you leave the edges alone or do you round them out some how?

I have a box of about 75 caps I got from someone on Freecycle last year

Sally, when using a hammer to flatten the bottle caps, I put a small piece of wood on top of the bottle cap, then hammer on top of that.

I've been using my Big Shot to flatten them lately though.

Melissa and Sally, I'm having a duh moment because I wasn't even thinking about flattening mine! LOL BUT, I did go on Spellbinders site and found out I can use my Grand Calibur to flatten them.

unfortunately, I don't have either the big shot or spellbinders.
I'll have to try the piece of wood thing. But on that video, she didn't flatten them but looks like she halfway filled them with the equivalent of glossy accents. I might try that.

I was thinking of doing that too...with the Glossy Accents. I also have a melting pot and some UTEE. I was thinking of pouring some of that in there as well and see how that turns out.

Thank you! I bought a big lot of caps on Ebay last year. I have a ton left over. I leave the edges alone. I do the same thing Melissa does. Block of wood and a mallet. I do it in the garage since it's flat cement and no one cares if I'm banging on stuff out there. Haha.

It's after midnight and I've been playing around with bottle caps since around 7pm. And I only have 8 of them semi done. But I've been watching U tube vids and trying to gather things for tomorrow's National Scrap day. I'm just not feeling it. But I'm having fun with these bottle caps. I made a set of Tinkerbell ones and my daughter wants them! I took a pair of pliers and bent back the edges.

Pebbles, I came across this woman's You Tube channel tonight. I think you'd like her work. Maybe you've seen her already: http://www.youtube.com/user/Scrappinology?fe ature=watch

I won the Mask it and Mist it challenge... but they are all drawn at random, as long as you complete the challenge in time, you got your name in. I did all the challenges. It was a lot of fun, and felt good to get so much done in one day and learn new things.

Here are my bottle caps, first time doing them!

Nicole, I used caps from twist off wine coolers. I just ordered a bag of 100 beer bottle caps, brand new, on Amazon. It was only $7 or so. They're not as flat as the craft store caps, but they haven't been sealed onto a bottle yet either.

I do plan to leave a few caps alone without flattening them too.

Ms. Pebbles, everything you touch comes out just perfectly! Try ONE and see if you like it. When you're flattening them with wood blocks and a hammer, provided you use a framing hammer or large mallet, the hammer should hit the entire cap at once. Just tap it down til you feel it's good. It didn't really take much pressure.

I actually used the curved nose jewelry pliers for the caps in the picture. Just grab the flared part and bend it out flat all the way around. The first one I did like this ended up lopsided. It's pretty forgiving though - you can bend it back up a little if it's not even.

Sassie, take a pair of wire cutters and cut off the part where you would put the cheese. Then cut off the hook piece from the other end. At that point, it cannot snap on you unless you open the sprung end and let it go.

That's exactly why I didn't sign up for the mouse traps, although I am very intrigued by the samples. They are all so cool.

Sassie, isn't there something else that you can do that's less strenuous on your hands? How bad is your neuropathy? Can you do the bottle caps? I have a Fiskar's 1" circle punch, the kind that you squeeze. That's fairly easy on the hands and the circle fits perfectly into the inside of the cap.

Or perhaps the altered clothespins? Something that you can just maybe paint the clothespins and then just glue on pre-made embellishments.

Melissa-I used a pair of wire cutters as pliars to flatten my bottle caps. I figured they were still in it's original package for who knows how long so if I damaged them it didn't matter too much. But I wasn't snipping them, just grabbing them enough to bend backwards and I though it turned out ok. Some I left with out bending back and I actually liked them better.

Glad you found something that worked for the bottle caps Sally! I like the regular caps too. I've been flattening some and leaving some plain. The flat ones work better inside albums and on cards for me because they're not as bulky.

Good evening ladies. I just wanted to share the album cover that I made for my mother. It's full of scrapbook pages (will share some later). The cover was cut, carved, stained, painted, and then embellished (just a tiny little bit).
