We had never heard of Tim Tams until we were in Australia! Wish we had them in the US - they are awesome.

We discovered the mint cookies by the same company - can't think of the name of them and those are our very favorite. They are like the Girl Scout thin mints on steroids - so much better! Just can't think of the name of them.

don'ty hey have them at grocery stores that are international or giant eagle has lots of different countries stuff I love thin mints

Oh Linda - my heart breaks for you because I know you are hurting. There is no more helpless feeling in the world than knowing our children are sick with something serious and we can't do a thing about it. I know that first-hand!

And for you to have it too. I am so sorry Linda.

Would this explain the headaches that get to you so frequently and make you suffer so much?

my heart is breaking for her. she decided to get a new puppy last night to help her feel better & she had a flat tire..
I do not think that headaches are symptoms. I did always have them hormonally. I knew the symptom list when my mom had it & it wasn't that long ( or they did not know r them all yet but since it hs been many years..there is a huge list now. Things I never even knew. I have had a hard time taking pills & i choke myself lots for maybe 4 yrs. I thought it was my tmj My tongue has been swollen too. all of these are symptoms. I know my mom had a hard time swallowing.
your body goes restless. mom threw her hands out lots & she would move her legs too. You waddle when you walk . she would be sitting in a chair & her legs would keep moving lots of the time . same with your head. There is not really shaking hands or anything.
I am shocked at the list. mom lost her inhibition. it is degenerative nerve disease. she would do things she never would have. i did not know it causes depression, bipolar & other mental illness. There are more body symptoms too. panic & anxiety feeling, scared of everything & lots more.
THe good t hing is that not every person has the exact same symptoms. some get it older & some yournger,. I do not have to get all of the symptoms thankfully. mine can be mild or mine can become bad. when it get the worst..you lose your body function. . Thankfully mom did not get that way untill the yr year she died from it when she was 72.
I did not know kids got it until I saw a show where a mom had m any kids. her husband had it progress quickly & become bedridden very soon. 3 of her kids got it when they were kids. Theirs progressed like their fathers fast & became bedridden soon too. They were all in a nursing home. The fact that mine is mild & started later doesn't make me think I will not progress fast.
It hit me last night....if it will make me not be able to scrapbook.. I do not think my moms hands moving kept her from doing stuff but maybe it did later.
Thanks guys for all the hugs & wishes.

Ladies: I am appealing to your generous nature. Every year I do a project with the girl scouts on making paper bag albums and cards for kids. Some of you helped us out last year. It is a special camp in Sept that we do all this. We need stickers and embellishments for small layouts, 4.5x4.5 and A-2 cards layouts.

Preferably outdoors, animals, kids birthday, camping, and kids activities in general, flowers or nature stickers. If you have any partial sheets or left over from another project, we certainly could use them. PM me for my mailing address.

If you have a camping cartridge or die cuts for nature, camping, animals, anything a kid would like on a card, we could use it.

If you have nature, camping, animal paper you would donate, we could always use papers. Does not have to be acid free. Even you left over scraps that seem to accumulate no matter how hard you try to use them, would be just wonderful.

I know I misspelled Adelaide on the title of these group of layouts. Someday I'll go back in the gallery and fix it. Probably not today.

The post above is spam trying to sell scrapbook lessons. The poster is not anyone who is around on the boards and has nothing posted in his/her gallery.

Its just a sales pitch. It has been reported.

You are welcome! I enjoyed making the pages and sharing them. This year on the world cruise I took a portable scanner and tried digi scrapping for the first time. When I got off the ship after 114 days I was finished almost all the way through. Gave me something to do after dinner and on sea days that I really enjoyed doing.

Now to finish t he year and a half before this cruise - including the 4 cruises last year!

I want to go there. I live an hour away so there is no excuse!

We did go to Universal Studios but not the one in our backyard. We went in Singapore but I'm told the Orlando is much larger.

Will eventually get there. I loved the Harry Potter books. The movies were okay but I really enjoyed the books.

embellishment organization By Christiscraps61

This is what I have been working on for the last couple of days.
All my little embellishments have been in plastic divided containers ( I call them tackle boxes) and then stored in a large box in my expedit. Out of sight = out of mind...
I picked up these little clear boxes from a bead shop.
I am hoping that now they are sitting on my desk, that I will use them.....
Still no word from Linda??? I am worried too, Henri.

I love that I learnt some Australian history on a American scrapbooking site
I had never heard of the "Jack the Ripper" connection story with the Albany gaol before, mind you...I have never been to that one....

It isn't like Linda to not be here - I'm worried but don't have a way to contact her. Hopefully she will pop in here and be fine. She has just had so many health issues and when she has headaches - those really get her down and make her sick.

I have used the plastic containers from the bead departments at Michaels and Joanns and Hobby Lobby - they make the best sorters and storers for scrapbook stuff! I haven't seen the case that you bought before but will have to look for it. It's large enough to put a lot of little things in!

We did not intend on doing 3 gaols in Australia - when we got off the ship, that is what there was to do. In Fremantle we had done everything already on past trips and the gaol was something different and looked interesting.

We didn't know about the connection with Jack the Ripper and the Albany gaol until we got there. A delightful older woman worked at the visitors desk and loved telling the old gaol stories. She always had a group around her listening to her - just hanging on to every word, and of course we joined right in the group and listened.

When she got to the one about Jack the Ripper I raised my hand and said, "Wait a minute - you mean Jack the Ripper was incarcerated here?". She said he was tracked down very close and was a "guest" there for a short time - then transferred to Melbourne where he trial was held and where he was executed. I thought it was interesting.

My weekend started on Wednesday my first day off. I do have to work a little tomorrow morning but so far I've completed 5 layouts and I'm on to my sixth almost done. I just have to figure out again how to take pictures of them and post. This is what happens when you only scrapbook once a year.

We are taking off for a month in August and I want to digi scrap on the trip so I'm organizing things like crazy the rest of this month.

Picking digi papers or scanning in the papers because I use so many themed papers. Also have so many die cuts and things to use so need to get those scanned. Will use the paper for the layout for the background so I don't have to make transparencies. Those don't turn out nicely for me.

Also have a crop next Friday night so have almost a week to prepare for it so will get a lot of paper-trimmer pages ready with everything matched.

Still no word from Linda. I think we should all carry on and stay active so when she comes back she won't come to an empty thread - that we all stuck around waiting for her.

I'm not going to say I'm not worried about her because now I'm very worried!

I am awaiting a big box of scrappy heaven from Scrapbook.com and a picture order from Snapfish. Then I have to get down to business and organize some random layouts. Also, I uploaded a 1000+ pics from a recent family road trip out West!
PS Sure hope everything is alright with Linda-keeping her in my thoughts!!

How was your camping trip Danielle, hope you had a great time.
Vintageivy, have your scrap goodies arrived yet?
Henri, love the photo of Bill sleeping on the granite floor, the coolness must have outweighed the hardness factor
I actually got a layout done today, one for my sons' album.
I still have to do another double page with the rest of the photos that need to be included from that day.

It was funny with him sleeping on that floor. It was like a raised stage area but people were walking all in front of it and some people were walking on it. The rest of us were sitting on the edge of it - it was just the right height for a seat.

Bill has no idea how many people were taking pictures of him because cameras were going off everywhere!

Started posting monkey forest pictures yesterday - going to post more of those today. That was one strange place where I never want to go back!

I have a crop tomorrow night and didn't have anything done so I got about 10 layouts to the gluing stage this week - would like to get 5 more done today.

No journaling - just Halloween and stuff like that. Just really need to match papers and will figure out at the crop what to do with them. I'm also doing punchwork and Cricut work here at home - so much easier than dragging all that stuff to the crop.

Then its back to digi scrapping after this batch of family stuff is done.

If anybody has any way at all to get in touch with Linda - this would be the time! Maybe someone can call or email if they have information.

Otherwise, I think we should continue to stay active rather than just abandon the thread although it seems very strange to be here without her.

I am actually launching a Kickstarter project that you and other scrapbookers might be interested in. It is called Shotbox and it is a fully contained light studio that is optimized so that you can use your phone to quickly and easily digitize your scrapbook pages. If you want to learn more go to kck.st/1LknszO or if you have any quesitons you can email me at [email protected]

My box of scrappy happiness was on my porch when I pulled in from work today and right on top of that box was my Snapfish picture order! How perfect was that?!! As usual everything was packed perfect and came just as I had hoped. I am ready for some scrapping action-wrestling pages, basketball pages, track pages, school pages, Easter pages, Christmas pages...here I come!
I just wish I was able to score the free "I AM" tote bag that they are offering with orders today...missed it by just a few days and it is such a cute bag!

Congratulations on the happiness bag! Sounds like you are ready for some serious scrapping now!

I'm scrapping a few family and granddaughter layouts by hand, then it is back to the digi scrapping again to finish a few more trips.

I'm not working on any scrapbooks this week, but I am beginning work on two "junk journals". One is for myself, the other is for my soon to be 14 yr. old niece. She journals, she reads, she scraps (sort of), she draws...I figured a "junk journal" would be perfect for her.

A "junk journal" is basically a smash book and traditional journal all rolled into one. It's made using things you have lying around your house pretty much. For my niece's, I'm starting with a composition book and altering it with odds and ends. Some borders are made with a magazine picture of eye shadow pots, some of the tags are made by adhering perfume bottles from magazine ads onto cardstock and tucking them into a holder (some open fold cards are made the same way so she can journal inside the cards), envelopes are made from old calendar pictures and/or magazine pages. The "junk journal" lets me use up scraps and parts of my scrapbooking stash that other wise isn't going to get used (some I've had for 5 years or longer). It also uses up other "junk". I have a MAJOR paper addiction and my addiction has gotten to the point that it borders on hoarding so I have to use up some stuff before my DH will get me more

You can find a lot of videos about junk journals on Youtube or by doing a google search. Hope this helps explain it a bit. For my own journal I'm going to bind the loose pages into an old book.

That really sounds perfect for a teenager! Or a pre-teen! And I always have scrap stuff left over and no idea what to do with it. I usually get a full basket of scraps and then donate them somewhere because I really am not good about going back and using them, no matter how nice they are.

I have a friend who does smash books and they really are lovely!

I have one junk journal of my own already, but it has a specific use. I used the pages of an old encyclopedia index (good sturdy pages and all we had was the index and the cover was awful) to make a recipe junk journal. I made dividers from construction paper, a book cover from a cereal box, punched holes in it all and stuck it in a 3 ring binder (until it gets finished and I'm ready to bind it). Now ALL my gobs and gobs and gobs of clipped recipes have a place to go. I don't care that it isn't acid free because it's more about function and organization than anything else.

That is a wonderful idea! I have collected recipes for 40 years and needed a system like this.

Most I have never made but didn't want to loose them and so they basically went into a box to be never seen again and it was impossible to find one I wanted.

I slowly started putting them in the computer but I hate doing that until I've tried it.

Now I'm making a nice scrapped recipe book for my mother but I could do something like this for the ones out of magazines and newspapers.

Oh Linda, what a great relief for your daughter and you and all your family. I am so happy for you I can only imagine the enormous stress you must have all been under these last few weeks.
Lets hope (and pray) that when that 'later' comes, Angela will have only a very mild case too and that there will be lots of new treatment options and even better... a cure.
Glad to see you back, and so happy for your good news too!

That is such good news Linda! So glad to hear that! I hope she is 104 when she gets it, if she ever does! And long before then, I hope there is a way to control it where it isn't bothersome or like Christi said - by then, a cure!

We have been worried about you - next time you don't feel like scrapping for any reason - pop in here and tell us you are okay! You had a very worried group here - we missed you and didn't know if you were okay.

Next time tell us, "I'm here, don't feel like scrapping or scrapbook boards, but I'm okay." We will understand. Okay, now I'm through fussing at you.
