Mornin', folks. You all must be scrapping already, and I just got my first cup of coffee.

Should call my dad (aka Da Coot), seeing as it is his birthday today.....

Another Sun Conure. I just got a picture of 'kid' in nest box, and Sunny got in on it. She wasn't too sure of the camera.

Here is my summary page of our Eurail trip. My husband wanted to draw the route, so I let him do it. I would have drawn it with a more consistent stroke, but he really wanted to do it and he never does anything on my pages, so I let him. It's one of our actual Eurail passes. I will take the erst of the pass where we wrote our travel details (trains numbers and destinations) and tape it onto the back so it stays together forever.

Suebird - Picture sorting counts in my book. I went to a crop on Friday and spent the first hour or so sorting my pictures. Normally, I do this at home but this has been a crazy month for me so far!

Thanks, Joanie!

I got side tracked, as usual. Did some stippling on several cards Saturday before finding out chick number one hatched. Today, found out we have a second chick. By my calculations, and having had 3 other clutches hatch....this brood is a bit different. First chick was due the 12th, not the 16th. And they usually hatch every 3rd day, Scratching my head on this...

Have you ever made something that you have made loads of times and got it all wrong? I made a mini that was just wrong, wrong, wrong. I took some of it apart and got the pages right...finally. Then I cut the book cover too small. I think I have it right now. But. Oh Boy, was it a hot mess. I will post a picture When I get it back together. Yes I had it all together before I realized how wrong it was.

Haven't done anything the past 2-3 days, as we lost the 2 chicks. Don't know what happened. However, we did have a 3rd one hatch.

Am bummed.

Thanks, Joanie. It hurts.

Sunny has had 3 other clutches that were good; the 3rd clutch was combined with Mo's clutch. Thus, I was worried about how many---if any---of the 9 eggs would hatch, and if so.....how many would make it. 6 good eggs and chicks. Thus....this 4th time got to me.

Just wrote out some checks. Maybe I can get up the 'oomph' to scrap.

I was waiting until I finished scrapping the Monaco photos to post them, but then I set them aside to work on something else, so here are a few Monaco pages;

I met my girlfriends for some card making this weekend. It's iris folding. I just realized I haven't uploaded past iris cards I've done, so I'll need to find those images so you can see. I learned this technique back in April and thought it would be so hard but it isn't! The effect is so pretty!

2 more Monaco pages here, I think these are the last 2 from there. It is a beautiful city, very expensive, and you feel like such a tourist gawking at the fancy cars and yachts. Definitely worth a day if you are in the area.

Lol Love the Smashing pumpkins one. Witty of you Henri Jean.

I think I may have bitten off more than I can chew. I bought some Kaiser Craft magazine holders and a tool box. You have to put them together, easy peasy. I painted them before I put them together. 2 coats later and they need to be sanded down to fit into the little slots.>>>>See Linda plan>>>>work Linda work>>>>>O ver think it Linda, atta girl>>>>Don't , oh don't, be a Linda!!! Then I will cover all this work with paper. I am a schmuck.

Thank you South Girl. It just seemed so appropriate. Especially when watching the male orangutan smash them! Was so entertaining to watch.

You have me laughing at your post! At least you have your sense of humor amid frustration - that is a good thing. I'm not sure I would!

Want to see this project when you are finished - sounds like it will be very nice!

Here is "Linda's Folly". I have got it semi finished. As I mentioned before I painted 2 coats of paint all over the pieces. That made it hard (read impossibe) to to fit tabs into slots. After I sanded it and use a little force (rubber mallet) it finally went together. Did I learn anything? Yes. Will I do it again? Probably.

The first Picture is misnamed (I have changed it in the gallery) It is a Kaiser Craft Toolbox.

Just checked. Linda's last post that I can find was 12/29.

Has anyone heard anything from her? Someone was going to send snail mail - any response?

Linda loves this thread and everyone on it so I'm sure if she is able to get on the internet she would be posting.

This really concerns me. Her health gets in the way of her life quite often so she just may not feel well and her back pain makes it hard for her to sit up and type sometimes but still, she usually checks in.

If anyone has a way to get in touch with her - please let us know!

I am doing a on line search for her . I have not found anything but a facebook page that has not been used in years and only one friend on it. I am going to do more digging in the next few days.

I do have her home address and thought if no one hears from her call and have a wellness check done .

Good - I want to know she is alright. She does drop off for periods of time when she doesn't feel up to being on the computer but this time it just doesn't feel right. No warning - she was posting actively one day and not here the next.

Thank you for following up and keeping us posted.

Finally after beating the net to death, I found her daughter on facebook.

"Yes, that's my mom. She's been having some stomach issues for a few months and hasn't really been on her computer. She goes in for some tests this week and hopefully they can get her feeling better"

So if you can send her a card, IF you need her address i have it.

Now i can quite feeling like a some creepy person

Bravo - you really did well! So glad you tracked down her daughter! That means she is getting help for her stomach and will be back. Will be so good to see her back here. Its time that something is done to actually get her to feel good.

That is amazing that you were able to track her down!

I decorated the vase for a gift for my secret pal Widow at my church. I was going to give it to her daughter today but my boss at work called and told me to have the day off because the numbers in the daycare were low and I was not need to come in to work. I will just take the gift tomorrow with me.

She went in for her colonoscopy and they said everything looked great. Most likely her issues right now are from her thyroid problems. She will be having surgery to fix that soon

Hello Everyone I started on here all gungho about getting back into scrap booking. Reorganized my little space and then life got in the way. But I mainly wanted to say WHAT A GREAT BUNCH OF MEMBERS......to be so caring and concerned about Linda is very touching. I don't know her but sure hopes she gets to feeling better.

So I decided to redo my thin metal die storage. I had them on 8x8 magnetic sheets stored in 8x8 scrapbooks, I put them on 8 1/2 by 11 magnetic sheets and slid into page protectors and stored in zippered notebooks. I think they will be safer and sturdier that way.

Then my OCD kicked in. I outlined each die with a thin line white paint pin so I would know if any were missing. (I have a horror of losing them...on my table...in between paper...in the trash... etc-----all of which had happened at one time or another)

But wait there is more. I cut out the die in white paper and glued it to the page protectors so I could see what the actual cut out looked like.

Now I am thinking of redoing my notebook where I write down each die (in alphabetical order), how many dies to each set, who made them and where they can be found.

Thanks for the update, I hope she is ok soon.

Meanwhile, I hope I know she would want us to keep sharing things here. This month, I have not been scrapping much, but when I have, I have been working on pages about Lake Bled in Slovenia. My son did his 3rd grade country project on Slovenia and we have wanted to see the place since then. This Lake is possibly the most beautiful place I have ever been. It is a beautiful mountain lake with a 1000 year old castle looming over the lake and a beautiful church on an island.
These first 2 pages are of the castle and views from the castle:
Bled Castle By Boysmom

This page has photos taken walking to and from dinner.
Evening at Lake Bled By Boysmom
We rowed to the island, here are a couple pages of photos of the church on the island and views from the island:

the lake is also clean and warm enough to swim in. here is a 2 pager of us doing water sports, I am actually in one of the photos of stand-up paddle-boarding, but too far away for anyone to actually see me in the bathing suit.
Water Fun at Lake Bled By Boysmom
I kept the pages very simple because I love the photos so much.

I got a bunch of layouts done over the weekend for my DS' albums-back to school, Thanksgiving, and soccer. Tonight I got the journaling finished and the pages added to their albums. Love that feeling! I ordered some more pictures from Snapfish to work on next.
My thoughts and get well wishes are with Linda. Sure hope she is on the mend soon. Ever since I have been on this site this thread has always been a favorite of mine-seeing what people are working on motivates me to get scrapping. I have also always been impressed how Linda takes the time to respond back to posts. That is one special lady!

Went to the 12 hour crop this weekend. Got 14 pages done. Pretty proud of that. Here is what I did. Some of these pages I had to duplicate for my kids albums. Thanks for looking!

Great layouts, Joanie. I can never get much done at a crop. I have grand plans at the start but I get so distracted. I love the group I am with and really like seeing what they are doing.

I have not done much. I need to start prepping for our monthly crop. Thinking of making a cake made from a Cricut cut and decorated with rolly poly roses. It will be a 3D cake. I have been buying covered cake stands at garage sales (I never spend more than $5 for them). the plan is to make Xmas presents and give them CAKE with no calories.

That sounds like a lovely idea! I love making homemade gifts but never seem to start early enough in the year to get it done. Then I think, well, I guess next year.

I love being with my friends too and we do distract each other. And when one is super focused and getting alot done the others try to derail her. I was having none of that! I still have quite the stack of Christmas photos to do. I have multiple copies because I make albums for my kids. My daughter is 22 and you would think she would do her own because she loves to scrapbook, but she knows because she's a Type A person, it will need to be perfect. If mom does it, she loves it and wouldn't change a thing. Makes me feel good, but MAN, that's alot of work. Oh well!

I want to get started on making a mini album from playing cards. I will use one suit of cards and make 13 pages. I want to do "13 Things you didn't know about your great grandmother". Then "13 things you didn't know about your mother". etc....or maybe not but I have a funny deck of cards that has a zigzag shape.

Sooo I've only done 8 layouts so far this year. They're lovely, but only 8 so far.

Because I've been crazy tired a lot...

...because I'm pregnant with my first baby! I'm currently 15 weeks along and due in mid-September.

Sooo that's a new thing I'll be scrapping about soon enough.

Oh my gosh aqua! You couldn't have more exciting news - I'm thrilled for you! Now you really having something very special to scrap!

Are you scrapping maternity pages as you go?

Someone scrapped a maternity book and every month had a picture of them in the same maternity outfit. It was very cool!

Have you had ultrasound yet? Those are great for scrapping!

You do awesome work so I know your books are going to be amazing!

So excited for you!

I made 3 mini albums out of a suit of playing cards (diamonds, clubs or hearts) as a way of trying ti get my teenage grandkids interested in their family history. In It I had a picture of their ancestor and a brief (and I hope interesting story).

Congratulations aquabunny! That is so exciting for you! What a great "topic" for scrapping too!!
I had the past week off from work. I was able to get in some scrapping fun which was awesome. I got two pages completed from a summer vacation when my DH surprised me with a beautiful anniversary diamond ring. He gave it to me on a beautiful hiking trail in Sedona! I also got 6 pages completed of my son's basketball season. I used the Doodlebug basketball line and loved it! Back to work for me tomorrow but I have some pictures organized and ready for my next free time to scrapbook!

I got a Scan N Cut and have been playing with it this past weekend. I got out some pictures and it inspired me to scrap. I tested several cuts with the paper I was going to use and Wow!! am I impressed. I did 3 pages. Which is a lot for me.

Hi All! JCI....Had off Friday and went to see Batman v. Superman with my DH and DS. WE LOVED IT! I don't know what the critics were talking about because it was great. Affleck really delivered.

Easter was quiet. My daughter was going to come up but then decided she just wanted to spend the day in her own home with her pup and her man. I totally get it. She'll be back in a couple of weeks because her dad will have her taxes done and she'll need to sign them and get them out.

DS had a photo in a local art show over the weekend. It was a photo he worked on in his digital photography class. Super proud of him! Just wish he would apply himself more.

Going to a scrapbook retreat next weekend that I need to plan for, yikes! And on top of it, this week is going to be super busy. I can usually get about 30+ pages done at a retreat so I'm stoked!

I hope you all have a great day.

Southgirl, what a great project.
I wish I had old family historic photos. I may have had, but none were documented, so no idea as to the who, when, where or why.

Don1 I am very glad I have them and that I thought to sit down and get my mom to ID them. I even made an album up of pictures I have found and made stories to with them as a fun project.

Yay Anda!!! Wear them too.

I am taking a few day off to get life back in order. I just did 144 cards in less than 2 months. So I kinda need it , I will be going back to work. I have a small craft show coming up next month plus need to work on a donation basket for a local no profit.

Anda welcome back.

12 dozen cards boggles my mind... Steph put your feet up and relax. Whew!!!

Travelscrapper and Stephanie D I would love to see what y'all did.

I bought 2 new stamps (Tim holtz crazy birds and Hero Arts layered Hibiscus) and played around with them last night. I sort of got "out" of stamping and now with the MISTI I am back into it.

I've been working on this banner for my niece's first birthday party tomorrow. I used my Cricut and Mickey Font for the whole thing.
