Thanks ladies I had gone to the post office this morning and they have flat rate priority boxes that are 12x12x19 and i can roughly fit 10 paper pads in there for $19. I also tried to ship 5 pads in a 12x12 box and it was $35. I never knew it would cost so much I mean I knew it was going to be expensive but I didnt think like that lol.. Just trying to ship some stuff down to Florida little by little. I shipped all my empty cricut cartridge boxes that cost $44!!! This move is going to be expensive!!!

Thanks all for your help!

Good Morning
It's hump day and I'm feeling it.
The week is going by like a runaway train! I really hope I can get some things together to scrap on Friday. Just hoping I can find the time.

Alana, That is expensive! I'm guessing you won't be going down with a moving truck? Even if it's a small U-Haul? Hope you are getting settled into your new position at work and that the girls are doing well. When I've moved in the past I always left something a little scrappy out for last.

Linda, LOVE your pages. I WANT that paper now, lol! Glad you are feeling well and checking in.

Well, gotta go fill another cup of coffee. Have a good day!

I need to start packing for our monthly crop. I plan on making a Xmas mini book and finish my "sayings" journal. I will be taking paper that I have culled from my stash to give away. I hope we have some newbies there so they will snatch it up and use it. That's the plan anyway.

Good morning everyone!

I’m hoping to find a bit of time to scrap today. My daughter (almost 2.5) is at daycare today, and when my son (2 months) goes down for a nap, that’s the plan. If I get the chance I’m working on my daughter’s baby book.

mulan, grab all the moments you can. I had 3 toddlers and just a few moments here and there when they were napping is what kept me sane.

The best laid plans...while packing for my crop, I threw my back out. Frozen bent over and in pain. Whew it subsided 30 minutes later but is still twitchy. I will try to go (after all that packing).

Anda, fear and worry are two wasted emotions. Hang in there. Focus on the things that makes you happy.

Good Morning
I scrapped with the Gluemores on Friday night and DD came home too. DS was home for a bit and we all had breakfast together yesterday before DS had to leave. It's been a nice weekend with her home but she goes back tonight.
I got 1 page laid out and glued the photos and papers but need to add title and embellish. It's one of DS's high school swim book pages.

Mulan, I used to scrap only once a month when my 2 were babies. I had my one night out and still do though I have a dedicated space at home. Enjoy those babies.

Southgirl, Hope your back got better enough for you to finish packing and cropping.

Linda, Hugs for what you are dealing with. I can understand your fear of being alone. Are you able to get a life alert device?
Loved your baby pages. I fell in love with the paper and got some for myself.

Have a restful Sunday everyone!

Hey, all.

Have been debating whether or not I should go to the Scrapbook Expo next Saturday. I'd love to, but.....

Glue, glad you had a good time. Gets your mind off school, eh?

Anda, Too bad we don't live closer! I'd pop in to check up on you.

I have a feeling tomorrow is going to be a wild day.....

Good Morning!
No scrapping for me this week but to dream about it.
The plan is to make page kits when I'm on vacation. The trick will be to actually do it and not clean house instead.

Southgirl, Ouch on your back and hope you are feeling better.

Linda, Got your PM and you are most welcome. Those pages are so sweet.

Suebird, Go to the expo... it's good for your soul.

Poking my beak in again.

Trouble about the Expo is: Seeing as I work Mon through Fri,,,,,I gotta do banking on Saturdays. Of course, that cuts into the drive up to the Expo. Also figure I'd have to swipe the transponder for toll roads; said toll roads will probably be a royal pain, thanks to the weekend.

Am sure I mentioned previously that we had 2 sets of birds lay eggs while we were on vacation. One batch was duds, as our male Nanday died last year. Other batch of eggs? I knew about one chick; husband knew about the 2nd. Imagine our surprise when we found a 3rd!

Well, that pair of 'proud parrot parents' decided they are going to start another round of laying eggs. *SIGH*

Good Morning and TGIF!
Today is my first day of vacation and I'm looking forward to getting some page kits completed for my fall and winter scrapping adventures. Also plan to finally get the rest of the pages into albums and get them on the shelf.

Suebird, Wow! On the parrot babies! Will you keep and raise them or sell them? I'd go to the Expo anyway. Just do it as Nike says. Life is short... buy the paper, go to the expo... do what you love.

Linda, Oh dance pages will be sweet. My DD only did it for a short time so I've only got a couple of LO's about dance. I took dance as an adult and did a LO about that too. So fun.

Happy Friday Ladies!

Glue, in regards to 'the kids': we have friends who help raise them, and find good homes. The original parent parrots had 2 clutches in 2008; 2 went to good homes, and the other 4 are also breeding (as well as the parents...) I was just thinking that, 3 years ago, we had the Mega Clutch: Momma Sunshine and Moe (her daughter) laid 9 eggs between the both of them. 6 were 'good'. I believe I scrapped that!

Decided not to head to the Expo. Too much is going on this weekend: need to do banking/pay bills, laundry, get self back into mode for working 8-4's starting Monday...... Maybe I will go next year.

Good Morning!
My scrap order with the sweet papers that Linda turned me onto came in yesterday. I want to try to scan my photos and perhaps enlarge one of them. Worked on getting a shelf moved to accommodate another row of albums so time to get busy with that.

Suebird, Bummer on the expo but next time . Do you scrap at home or do you attend crops?

Linda, I was dutiful and scrapped DD's dance pics back when I was using CM so they were scrapped chronologically. I might have some extras that I can put into her school album though.

Have a good, scrappy day!

I saw that you said you ordered them I am so glad they came in I used CM too for years & years.. I really loved them my air conditioner that was in my scrap room broke & we could not afford to fix it. so my albums could not be in that heat for long and all of my straps molded In every album. I had a ton of them luckily the pages were good so I had to move & remove every page from them so I put them in 3 ring albums which I love it was a blessing in disguise though cause I love my 3 rings

Glue, I've been scrapping at home most of the time. Approximately 2 years ago, I found a home-based scrapping store; the owner has monthly scrap days (usually on Saturdays). I've gone to 3 or 4. There may be other crops around, but I haven't checked lately. To be honest, I feel a bit out of place. Compared to what I've seen others do, most of my stuff looks like a 1st grade threw it together. Klutz factor? Who knows!

Yeah, it's one of those days. I'll get over it fairly quick.

Anda, when it rains, it pours, doesn't it? At least you had a silver lining!

Suebird I felt that way when first I started. I went but it felt awkward. They were doing stuff I had not ever seen. Some good, some bad, some hard, some too easy. I learned several things but the most important was.....It was the wrong group for me. I found another that fit me better. I wish you lived near me so we could go to my Crop or at the very least I wish you will find a group you like better.

After cleaning for 2 days, I went into my scrap room to start playing and found that my IRIS cart frame warped and bent on the bottom. I took off the bottom frame and now it's too short and needs to go on top of something in the room. Ugh... not sure what to do. A whole new system of paper storage and sorting is in my near future.

Suebird, Sorry you are not comfortable with your group. I have a group of ladies that share memories, not technique. I'm lucky.

Linda, I'm glad you found the silver lining too.

Off for now...

I so sorry that your frame broke & that you need to find a new paper storage I do not understand whay you mean bythe silver linning.....

I felt the same way as you did when I started. I went to a to a lot of crops back in the day we had scrapbook stores too there sure a lot of different styles

Well, went to the church picnic today. Took 2 pictures; one of a friend from H.S, the other one of my aunt.

I actually 'puttered' with some scrapping, also! I finally had some inspiration to scrap 3 pictures from last years' vacation.

Thanks for the comments, guys! Not sure, but (maybe) part of the problem with the scrap day is that I have good intentions of going, then something comes up to blow my plans out of whack. when I log out of here tonight, I am going to see if there is a September scrap day.

Good Morning and yes, I'm on later than usual b/c I'm off from work! After cleaning, doing classwork, and visiting friends I finally got to my scrap room. I got 2 page kits started and quite excited about that.

Suebird, So glad you got a bit of R&R as well as some scrapping done. If getting it together is an issue, go on you tube to watch Nicole911 videos (I'll send you the link). She shows her process for making page kits based on colors and then adds embellishments. I tried it in Dec/Jan using photos as my inspiration and this week am trying it without. I want to be able to go to crops without the hassle of figuring out what I am going to bring. My friend has done this and loves it.
You'll be able to run out the door with your kits in hand before anything holds you back!

Linda, The silver lining was mentioned by Southgirl... that even though your CM books got ruined, you found another type of album that you like better. It really allows you to jump around which I like too.

Have a good Monday everyone!

Remember I said 'When it rains, it pours'? Well, it sure as heck did. We had a brief storm earlier in the day, and I got home half an hour before the clouds really came in and dumped a load of rain on us. Of course, next weekend is going to be humid!

Am hoping to make the Crop on Sept. 22nd. Due to Da Moose having an eye exam the 27th, I am designated driver, and took the day off. I get to work Saturday the 1st, Of course, MY eye exam is Sept. 10th (Happy Anniversary....HA!). Guess I will work that following Saturday , too.

Glue, I don't have a portable carry-all for stuff. Thus, have to figure things out. I have a while, I guess.

Good Morning!
Did not do any scrapping. Had a Dr. check up then took myself out to breakfast and did a few errands. When I got home, DS wanted to make a run to the store with me for things he needed.
I did get to my yoga class and then we had a lovely dinner. I am almost done with this class and finished up one of the final assignments.
Today is a lunch date and DS goes back to school.

Suebird, I PM'ed you one of the Nicole 911 videos. With her technique you only need a shopping bag full of your page kits and a couple of tools.

Linda, I love my 3 ring binders too. They are big and heavy but fun to open up with family at the table or on the sofa. They are big enough for 2 or 3 people to view easily. I also love scrapping out of order now too.

Happy Tuesday!

Morning!

Linda, So glad you scooped up the last papers when you did and they match her dance outfit too!

I started working on making page kits last night. I sorted papers out and have the workings of about 12 kits.
Today is rainy so it'll be a good day to stay inside and work on them.

Have a good day everyone!

My scrap room is kind of a mess but I worked on adding embellishments to the 12 kits I started. Some of the kits need more cardstock and some may need other things. I'm deciding about whether or not to add washi tape to the kits or wait til the time of the crop as a grab and go item.

Linda, decisions, decisions....hope you get inspired soon.

if you have a lot of washi then maybe it is best to add as you go type item...or you could add a post it note on the page telling the items you need for your kits I used to do that when I made page kits

Linda, Those are adorable photos! I need to find my baby photos and then I'd like to scan them before I scrap them.

I worked on more page kits last night and got the start of 6 more. I've got 3 LO's in progress so should have plenty to work on this winter. I start a college math class on Monday. I'm a little nervous about it but it's my 2nd to last course!

Linda, I think that page will be so cute and purple is my favorite color. I want to do a page about DS in a talent show back in middle school. I have to ask him if I can have the photos since I did not take them and don't have copies. It was so cute.

Went to TM yesterday for the first time and got such a great haul.
It took us 2.5 hours to drive there and back. We made a day of it stopping at another store, grabbing bites to eat. It was fun. I got 3 12x12 and 1 6x6 paper packs of Echo Park, 2 packs of wood veneer, 2 packs of ephemera, 2 EP embellishment packs, 2 wash's, a tape runner refill, a pack of enamel dots, swim team stickers, and a pack of HS mists... all for about $60. It was fun and my friends did as much shopping as I did, lol.

Here's my haul:

Great buys!!! I got the Heidi Scwapp sprays too, I have not used them yet but I am sure it is pretty.

I went to Michaels this week and found some Halloween stuff. I had a 50% off coupon for one item and a 25% off the total coupon and got the 10% off for being a "senior citizen". My total after all that was $95. I got a lot!!!!! Linticular Halloween portrait stickers, Halloween paper pads, bats, spiders... oh my!!!!

And then I went back yesterday and got the 100 lb. paper I wanted and yes I used a coupon and the old bat discount. I have no shame.

I made the cutest (I think) Halloween cards and will take pictures and post later.

So, at what age does Michael's 'old bat' discount start? Just curious.

We had a TM, but no more.

Husband and I went out to eat, and I poked my nose in the nearby HoLo. Got nothing, of which I am proud. Then again, it was slim pickin's at that store. However, they 'do' have the Christmas stuff out already! I 'could' have gone to the HoLo in my town, but didn't feel like it.

Still puttering around, working on stuff for backgrounds.

Ironically, the (former) TM was in the same area as our local HoLo.

Good Morning!

Back to reality this week with work, etc.
I had a nice week off. Spent a lot of time in my craft space and have close to 20 page kits done or almost completed. The process has really helped me to go through my stash and start using some things up.

Southgirl, I remembered you made those cute wreaths last year with the lenticular photos. Can't wait to see what you make.

Suebird, I'm curious about the senior discount too. We went into M's on our trip back from TM and there was not much we were interested in after the great deals at TM. Glad you had dinner out, sounds like it was a relaxing evening. I haven't been to HoLo in a while but it's good for some basic supplies like M or J's.

Linda, OMG, I'd have killed for a purple van! My sister had purple velvet bell bottom pants when we were younger but I was always hippier than her and could not wear them.

Have a good Sunday everyone!

Thanks, Anda and Glue! We went to a buffet pretty much out near where I work, and the price is decent. True, we have a Golden Corral out our way (and one within distance of where we were), but their prices are a bit 'up there'.

As I mentioned, I'd been working on stuff for backgrounds. I'd gotten some end cuts from paper at M's, and I've been tinkering with those so I could add them to lo's. That still counts, right?

One lo is in early stages; the pictures are from last year's vacation, and involves my husband's fishing. Heck, this past vacation, he'd bummed a 'troller' from a friend. He was gone for several hours each time he went out. Only reason he came back so soon was he needed to charge the battery.

It's humid as all get-out; windows are fogged up.

Old bat discount starts at 65 I think. Teachers get a discount too. You have to ask for them.

Glue, those wreaths were so much fun to do, and I like the ancestor wreath I did similar to the Halloween wreath.

Sue, we eat at Golden Corral almost every day here. Walter is diabetic and he controls it with diet alone. Yeah it is pricey but again we get the "old bats" price there too. It is called the Early Bird Special till 4 pm. $7.99 plus drink.

I went a little crazy yesterday, pulling paper out of all my IRIS boxes and sorted them by manufacturer. If I had enough of one company, I gave the company it's own box. I have paper pads in other drawers that I'll keep together.
I also started 3 more page kits!

Have a good day!

Good afternoon!

I’ve been reading but haven’t had the chance to reply to anyone. I’ll try and leave some love later once the kiddos are in bed. So far I’ve made two two page LOs! I’m making two pagers for each month for my daughter’s baby book. Right now I’ve got the third month laid out, but I have to cut cardstock to mat the pictures. It might be boring, but each months LO are going to look very similar.

I went a little crazy yesterday, pulling paper out of all my IRIS boxes and sorted them by manufacturer. If I had enough of one company, I gave the company it's own box. I have paper pads in other drawers that I'll keep together.
I also started 3 more page kits!

Have a good day!

that is great to sort by manufacturer that might make more sense to you when you are looking for paper for your page kits too that is grreat that you have 3 more page kits

It might be boring, but each months LO are going to look very similar.

do not ever worry about leaving love or answering if you can't it doesn't matter here
that is great that you are working on the baby pages that you are keeping them similar that will make them feel the same
