Papercrafting inks aren't going to be "unsafe" for scrapbooking....but some people insist on only using archival quality inks for scrapbooks. Personally, I know tons of people that use all kinds of stamping inks and they've never damaged or degraded any layouts. I don't know of any stamping inks that actually contain acid???
Here is a document that shows properties of different inks: http://www.scrapbook.com/tips/doc/32019/209.html
There are lots of artists here that stamp on their layouts.

I use Stampin' Up inks and have never had any problems! I love the variety of colors and color familys which make it very easy to match colors or to put colors together. I stamp on a lot of my scrapbook pages. It might be a title, a journal space, an image that I like, or a flower...stamping adds depth to your layouts!!! I love stamps over stickers....I can reuse my stamps over and over, once I use a sticker it is gone. Stamps are a great investment!!!!
