Wow!!! There are people done already?!?!?

Im going to a 10 hour crop tomorrow, so my plan is to get some scrapping done.
Novel idea, dontcha think?!

You're planning to scrap at a crop? Are you sure that's allowed?

No, but I've always been somewhat of a rebel, so I'll let you know how it goes

I am away from home for the weekend...making more great memories to scrap ... and on a borrowed computer so I will not update the front tonight but just wanted to let you know that your hostess hasn't left you...keep on scrapping.

Oh I'm in again too please! Slightly stressed today after a week away and DH's last day off before going back to work, but if I have a month to do it, I'll be fine.

I'd like to do a card and a LO.

For Denielle, here is your LO inspiration:
no public embedding

and your card:
no public embedding

I hope these are OK for you?

Happy Sunday everyone!

I've almost got my layout done. I'm kinda stuck on the title, but I'll work on it more this afternoon.

Hello! I finally got an idea to which I can apply the inspiration. I wanted to get another sneak peak (peek? which one goes on a mountain? which one means a little look? Gah!) before I kick DH off my scrappy table.

Okay, now I'm confused. I just checked the front page -- looking for what was chosen for me.... and I'm not on the list. Did I miss the deadline, then? Have I been removed from the challenge?

Ladies, I have a question. After reading this forum post, http://www.scrapbook.com/forums/showtopic.php?tid/15805... , I decided to do my page as a goal page. I will hang it in my office, and then when I reach my goal, I'll take a picture and add it to the page. The page will then be completed. I have it pretty much done except for the title, and after showing it to my dh, now I'm second guessing myself.

He loved the page, but then he asked me if I was entering this in the challenge with no picture. He said, "Will it not look undone?" I explained what it was and he was cool with that, but now I'm wondering if I should change directions. The page is generic enough that I could change topics if needed. Thoughts and opinions, please. Is it okay to enter a layout in a challenge with no picture, just the picture mat? I've not entered enough challenges, so I don't want to do a "no-no", LOL!

Anne, you are there - you are #16 and your inspiration is posted too. Don't know why you couldn't see it. If you still can't see it on the front page go through to where denielle posted it for you?

Ladies, HELP!!! I'm stuck. In a dilemma. not just a dilemma, but a desperate dilemma!
I love my inspiration and kinda had a picture in mind and was going through the papers... when I dug out a clear protector which had THE perfect paper, paired with THE perfect picture - not scrapped yet, but just put together for scrapping at some future time.. but it's not about me! and I know it doesn't have to be about me, but now I'm stuck in a dilemma.. scrap this one based on the inspiration - which fits perfectly! - or do another one with me - which I'll have to be more creative to come up with LOL)
what would you do?

For Redsquirrel:

First is your layout. I love the simplicity of this with the layering and I look forward to your English bend to this:

http://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/image/layout/ 3754683.h...

For your card, I selected something that had wonderful inking, distressing and 3D effects. I hope you enjoy this too:

JCI -- I've got a photo for my lift; but I also recently realized that 1/2 of my young subject matters are not my children and I'm not posting their images on the web. We'll call it a practice run.

Oh! Since I can see that I've had an issue with chemo brain re/this challenge, THANK YOU GMFTS, for showing me the error of my reading on the first page.

Ha - I just put my picks for you on the first page and came here to do an individual post to tell you that I have picked for you...are we sharing a brain this morning?
If we are then you are getting the short end of the stick because mine is barely started.

Anyway - here are my choices for you:
After looking through your favs I realized that you pick a lot with lots of punching and layers so...

There are very few things that I do for myself or are about me. My lift are the notes that I took at a conference that Deseret Book does every year for women. This year happened to be thier 10th Anniversary, so I tried to do the lo in the colors they used this year. The theme this year was "Seek the Good".

Mary - thank you, those are awesome, can't wait to get started.

If we are sharing a brain, I will continue to browse through sb.com while I'm at work, wishing I was home in my scrappy space. So if you get the sudden urge to scrap and have a wave of inspiration, it might be from me

Here is my lo for this challenge....except I forgot about the twist. I had the lo planned out using pics about my traveling to take my college sons to get their allergy shots each week, then I didn't have the pics I needed, so I changed to the idea of my son's driving lessons from dh...totally forgetting WHY I was going to do a lo about me in the first place. This lo needed done, anyway, and dh and I are both really happy with it, so all is good..except I don't get credit for the twist.

Congratulations Lauren! All the best with your pregnancy.

ACU with the love, now I have to attend to my house and then... maybe... I can play. I'll need the light on though, as it's one of those dark grey pouring days. Ho hum.

BTW I went to a crop on Saturday and had a bunch of LOs all picked out and the papers and everything, but I didn't get as far as this one. I just checked in here and remembered the twist - and my photo wasn't about me at all so that LO was not meant to be! Back to the drawing board LOL.

Here's my layout. I'm still not real happy with the title, but I'm tired of it hanging out on my desk, lol! Please read the description on why there is no photo.

Well I have finished my card ... I think ... I just can't move it until everything dries, well until one thing dries. It's amazing how one, small, item holds up all my progress!

I'm busy working on my card, layout is next!

Mary-I'm on the list twice under layouts. The #6 spot is correct for me, the #21 I think is Peg's inspiration.

Happy Sunday!

Rats...I thought I had fixed that in all the places...see Kim you are just so good I had to give you two spots.

All fixed.

happy Sunday middle of a long weekend (for some of us lucky people).

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Mary, but I'm having a hard enough time coming up with ONE layout - forget about TWO!

My card, however, is done!! I just have to get it uploaded.

I think cards can be any size you want them to be, from those teeny tiny cards you insert into a bunch of flowers all the way up to those jumbo cards that are as tall as a small child.

They can be any shape, too (think square, rectangle, circle, oval, triangle, hexagon).

Focus on the design/message/embellies/ etc and work the size around that.

Think of it as a layout if that helps. Just have fun with it

I make my cards to fit the envelopes I have.

If you're making them to mail, check your postal restrictions, for example if square cards cost more to mail, or over a certain size or weight.

In the UK I can mail an A6 card to the US for 60p less if it is under 20g in weight. If I'm mailing within the UK, cards have to be thinner than 5mm to use a standard stamp. Talk about curbing the creativity...

Oh, and I'm ACU.

The card chosen for me:

Give Thanks Darker Side Challenge By AuntJo

And my lift:

This one was hard for me, I'm not quite sure why. I don't feel like I did the original justice at all. Still had lots of fun doing it!

If I don't already have the package of precut cards with envelopes (4 x 5 1/2), I will cut mine.

I have the invitation sized envelopes, so I cut my cardstock 9 x 6 1/4. Then I fold my paper in half and my card is 4 1/2 x 6 1/4. Sometimes I want a longer card, so I will cut it to match my envelop. I just recently made a square card (5 1/2 x 5 1/2) and I made my own very simple envelop.

I just noticed that the card that Stiina picked for me is the same as the card that Dollscrap picked for Stiina. Is that right? Or am I going mad? Does it matter?

I thought there was a mistake, but when I read the response from the person selecting my inspiration, I realized it wasn't. We have the same card as our inspiration. At least your LO is unique since I'm not making a LO. It will be fun to see how we both interpret the same card. Enjoy!

I didn't notice until I saw your lift and thought that's a LOT like mine...

Well that's OK then! It will be fun. I hope to work on mine this weekend if I get the chance. I'll make it a different colour from yours LOL

After looking at my card for a couple of days, I decided it needed just one more thing. I'll get that done and get it uploaded so I can start on my layout.

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

Hey ladies. Sorry to be MIA - I have had a pretty crazy busy week.

Will try to catch up tonight and get the front updated.

Rosey - no problem with you and Stiina having the same inspiration unless you want a different one.
