and now I need your prayers - I had surgery in March to remove a growth in my uterus (well the wall of it). Last night the dr could not even do a normal pap smear because the growths she found would not even allow the speculum to open me up enough - I am awaiting a hospital appt. Only 6 months between that and now - not probably a good sign but I will try to be positive. But it definitely looks like more surgery for me.

I hear you Courtney... I've schlepped my stuff around trying to find time to work and have not even opened my tool box! I have a 2-hour crop tomorrow so hopefully I'll get something accomplished! I have all these ideas in my head, but no time to actually work then! AAAHH!!

thank you my friends - it WILL be okay! My lovely husband will not accept anything less. Decided not to go to my SU day today and just hang with him - we are going off to Blackpool to see the illuminations tonight and maybe visit Blackpool Tower Dungeons. Just didn't want to be on a train for over an hour both ways with mostly strangers you know. But I am feeling upbeat and positive.

Pat
BUDGET: tbd post Italy
WISH LIST:

Ok. Here's the thing. I spent every dime of disposable income I had for the entire month. ALL of it. I was reckless and impulsive and I bought leather and glass and Papier-mâché and it was GOOD.

But I'm outta dough for the rest of the month and quite possibly into NEXT month, but it was WORTH it.

Budget - $0.00
Wish List - Not a d@#! thing!

Now I just have to catch up on chatter!

Tina - YEAH! No more treatments!
Tammy - Prayers speeding your way, girl.

To all the girls who busted this month...I have no words except, well, DUH.

OMG, stop the presses! I just checked on my Scrapbook Steals purchase from last week (Lilybee handmade) and I guess it never went through! So I actually have $25 CREDIT!! $25 + $17 = $42!! It's like an embarrasment of scrappy riches, lol!!

This is so weird! My paypal was never charged, and I still got my lilybee. So...I guess I don't count it? I did get a second Echo Park Little Girl collection this week at HL. All Page kits were 40% off and I went through almost all of mine. So $42-$6=$36!!!! and I have a crop on Friday so i will save it alll for Friday.

you don't count it if it was free my dear. But be on the lookout for further charges once they realize their mistake - if they charged someone else - that someone else will be reporting it and will want a refund.

Aww, Tammy, I'm so sorry you are going through this. I'll be praying for you every day.

Tina, congrats on completing your treatment. Hope you start feeling better soon.

Vacation was fun, I spent way too much money. I probably shouldn't buy any scrap [email protected] this month, but we'll see. I so want the TH Fall Distress inks. The only seasonal ones I didn't buy. Now that they are permanent, I have to have them.

Kelly glad your trip was great!
Courtney sounds like a great visit coming home with goodies!

I had a great weekend, tv and scrapped. Didn't do much but feel really good except for the taste buds. Most food tastes like aspirin disolving on my tongue or no taste at all. For some reason I can taste cinnamon slightly so I've been eating Cinnamon Life alot:) Tried a pumkin bar and the frosting tasted like crisco I am missing the affair I have with my coffee every morning
You ladies are the best. Have a great MOnday-

Courtney love that you discovered SU! Can't wait to see your cards.

On Saturday late afternooon we went to Blackpool via train to see the Illuminations - it was amazing - Vegas in England! LOL but I paid for it yesterday and couldn't do anything yesterday but sleep off and on - the Knightly One took good care of me though and today I feel quite good - no probs at work at all - am having a beer though now.

This week is employee appreciation week at Ms and we get a nice discount on all full price stuff. I stock up on adhesive. Scotch liquid glue, glue dots in assorted sizes, and a ton of pop dots. Best of all, it doesn't hit my budget.

Welcome back Pat!!! Sounds like the extravagant spending was WELL worth it! And you deserved it anyway! Can't wait to see your pages!!!

Tammy Just thinking of you! Hang in there, girlfriend!

Lesley - YEAH FREEBIE!!!

Kelly - sounds like your trip was fabulous!

Katie!!! Bit late in the game, but better late than never! How much of that did you spend though...

I broke my twist last night... I fell in love with the Mini Monsters cart at my class last Saturday and bid (and WON) it on Ebay!! Also won Graphically Speaking, though I don't know why I even bid on it except that my instructor was raving about that cart during class.... ANYwho, I'm pretty well busted this month! LOL Story of my life!

Oh, and I found a EK corner punch at Ross yesterday for $2!

DH had a biopsy on his liver yesterday. Just trying to confirm why his liver enzymes have been all over the map since June. We're hoping it's something simple like the meds he was on or a condition that's common in Scleroderma patients... He's recovering okay from his esophogus surgery, but is still on a mostly liquid diet. (He keeps trying to fudge it by eating things that he can't and then he pays for it, despite what his loving wife tries to warn him...) They never learn, do they?! Yeeeesh!

Other than that, work is good and Carlo is almost 4 months!!!!

Courtney!!!! That is wonderful!! So happy for you.

SOnja - praying all goes well with the liver biopsy. I can't believe Carlo is 4 months already.

Sooooo my dr appt was Thursday at 7pm. Today I got home from work and a letter was waiting for me - I have an appt at the hospital on Friday morning at the hospital. the letter was dated Friday morning (I just noticed that after supper - now I am a little worried - an appt was set up within 24 hours). I don't feel sick and I got a new chain for my angel - gives me a focus for my prayers and helps keep me calm. Poor Ian is doing worse than I and asked me if I wanted him to come with me Friday - ah like hun they won't let you in the room...positive thoughts, positive thoughts, positive thoughts...

Tammy, don't panic. Maybe they just had a cancellation and that's why everything was scheduled so quickly. Tell Ian to take a scrappy break with you, and you can both give your minds a much needed break.

Courntey, congratulations!!! Now get that scrappy budget in check so you can stay home with that baby.

Sonja, I'm feeling for you hubby. I'd be sneaking food too! Hope everything goes well with his liver biopsy. Poor guy has gone through quite a bit lately.

Carlo is almost 4 months old already? How did that happen? Didn't you just have him??

I have a cart full of stuff at the fruit site. To buy or not to buy. That is the question...

well - I waited but I could tell by the ultrasounds (or was pretty sure but didn't bank on it). It got me through the later stages.

But my dd was on a budget and so was I so by her finding out - it made it easy to buy things she needed ahead of time with the sex in mind.

Congratulations, Courtney!!! Heres to an easy pregnancy! I found out, but I knew from the moment I found out I was prego that I was having a girl. I just felt it, and I was right. Then the u/s tech confirmed: bird lips. Apparently, that's what THAT looks like when it's a girl.

It's October 25 and I haven't busted!! But, I've discovered a whole new level of scrappy goodness: digital kits! I don't plan to do digital scrapping, but I can cut all those awesome shapes with my Cameo! They are so worth it, and it further justifies my decision to get a Cameo. Best of all, I found wonderful Hanukkah scrap stuff. Us Hanukkah celebrants get the shaft in the scrap world...everything is lame lame lame! But I found some wonderful digi stuff for Hanukkah, so I am VERY excited!!

Tammy-you're in my thoughts! Here's to health, and this just being a preventative measure. Xoxo

Courtney Congrats! How exciting!!! If you don't want to find out don't. You can always add pops of color to the room afterwards. As for clothes, they don't need much at first anyway.
Sonja I understand your DH sneaking food. I have to tastebuds due to radiation. I know it will be at least a month befor they come back and I keep trying out foods and getting so disappointed.

So the lss was a bust. The shelves were very empty. I had a $40 certificate and couldn't use it all so let my friend (who is new to scrapping) go crazy.

well today was difficult - two sets of exams, and a full pre-op. I was there from 9 until 1:15 and I can expect surgery likely within 2 weeks I am on a first available urgent list. The senior specialist said if she could have done it right there today she would have but it was too large. Needless to say I am quite sore but i did go to work from 2:30 until 5:00 then my sweet dh took me out for supper (we stopped in the main square first to see some of the Olympic celebration for those from Manchester).

Hugs, Tammy!! xoxo

I'm cold busted. At least it took me until the 25th or so. Bought about $20 in digi kits (love the Hanukkah ones!), then spent some $ at HL, then bought a few things at the LSS where Lisa & I crop. No Thickers (but I did buy some "Remarks" alpha stickers), and I managed to avoid Archivers during their big sale this weekend. There is absolutely, positively, nothing that I need.

Aww Tammy, I hope you are feeling better today.

I spent $51 on the fruit site. I got the coveted Sears & Son PP, Prima Craftsman PP and loads of matching embellies to go with it, a few random papers, some of those Prima light bulb thingies, and a Prima Dark Bark fluid edger. I felt a little guilty over my purchase as I was organizing stuff to make room for the new stuff. I found loads of unopened/unused product. So when I was finished I worked on my art journal. I used several new stamps, opened a couple bottles of mists, broke open some unused masks and paints, and now I feel a little better.

COURTNEY!!! *SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! !!!!* (Okay, I found that out before seeing it here, but STILL!! *SQUEEEEE!!!*)
WOAH... OMG!!! Your due date is 3 days after Carlo's birthdate! HOW SMALL WORLD IS THAT?!!
OH Congrats, I am so excited for you guys!! Yep, it's early, but I totally feel you... I blabbed to a couple close friends, my sister and SIL and you gals on here before going public. It's just too darn hard to hold in! (And yeah, that baby scrappy stuff thing hits you square in the eye around the 7th month I think... right about when you're emotions start going haywire about delivery!)

To find out or not to find out... that IS the question! If you're both okay with waiting, I think the surprise in the delivery room would be TOTALLY worth it! You shouldn't have to find out just so you can buy clothing and decorations anyway, that's not enough of a reason if you really want to be surprised! (And that's what gift cards and gift receipts are for! Lots of fun to go shopping with someone else's money... hehehe) Tina makes a valid point on adding pops of color and gender-specific deco after the baby arrives. They really don't need a ton of clothing from the beginning, just simple onesies, a couple swaddle blankets and socks. That's literally all Carlo wore his first three months since he was a summer baby too. (Thin swaddle blankets were my best friend at night since he INSISTED on being swaddled! (That said not every baby likes to be swaddled...) And don't even BOTHER with 'newborn' sizes... They only wear them a short time anyway! Zero-three month will be your friend...

Bird lips, Leslie?! BBWWWAAAHAHAHA!!! That's hilarious!!! And she's totally right by the way, you DO sort of 'feel' it. I felt it from about the second ultrasound that I was having a boy, but I didn't want to believe it until they confirmed it. I'm glad I found out, though his room is still very gender neutral. I didn't want to go TOO gender-specific crazy (pink vs. blue, sports vs. princesses, etc). Carlo's room is all jungle/zoo animals with a pale yellow wall since we actually had to pick the paint color before we found out. All I can say now though is this little boy better like planes, trains and automobiles... all his clothing has those things on them! In your case, waiting might help you save money... Put money aside throughout your pregnancy for all baby's clothing, toys and goodies because once you get back on your feet and out and about with baby, it will be VERY hard to resist baby stores and departments... (speaking from experience here there's a Gymboree half a block from my office that already knows my name...) And we ALL know who we're talking to here...

Tammy - LOTS of positive thoughts heading your way!! Hoping for a quick and effective surgery and a fast recovery!

Tina - Hoping you get your tastebuds back sooner than a month! But don't worry, they'll come back and it'll be worth the wait! Everything will taste even better!

Thank you for all your thoughts, ladies! Yep, my little boy grew way too fast! He looks like he ate the baby I brought home four months ago! Yesterday was actually his first day at daycare... I was nervous, but DH was WAY worse! He kept bugging me if I'd spoken to the daycare all day! I'll admit, I was nervous about what I'd find when I picked him up, but he was a happy little baby and she told me he was such a sweetheart! (Well I know that of course! LOL)

DH is doing better, starting to eat some soft solids, though he still has to eat really slowly. My mom leaves on Thursday (sob!) so we'll be officially on our own again!

Alright, I've written a book and could keep going, but I've got to get back to work! Glad to hear you made it through Sandy okay, Courtney! Congrats again! Hugs all around and hoping you all are well!

Okay, I have no business going shopping, but am really really wanting that new EP Photo Freedom line... and I have a bid on another cartridge that ends tonight...

Courtney - I loved my sleep too, but I'm getting used to getting up early (5:30a) to get ready, get Carlo ready, drop him at daycare and go to work. It would probably be a lot harder if he wasn't sleeping (mostly) through the night! *knocking on wood* The first couple months were pretty rough, but since I was home, I could sleep when he slept - that's a BIG key piece of advice there... I'll repeat: SLEEP when your BABY SLEEPS!!!

Got that??

I am missing the one on Nov 17th because I will be on vacation...

I feel a little guilty going on vacation when others have lost so much...my husband suggested maybe cancelling our trip and donating the money to the victims but I think it is too late...we wont get our money back...

We are donating a percentage of sales to red cross for the entire month of November at our store...and have made countless donations for those in need so I know I shouldnt feel guilty, but I do....

you should not feel guilty - you have done much and kept many in the loop for those who could not. If every single person did what you have done, never would there be need in this world.

I am so impressed by what you have posted on facebook where everyone is reaching out...
enjoy your vacation, count your blessings, some day you may need someone's help...

I agree, Courtney! All of the care and donations you've provided is more than most people have done and deserves recognition! You can't feel guilty for a simple luck of the draw. You guys were spared the devistation by simple chance and that should in no way make you feel guilty!
Enjoy that vacation and know that what you've already done has already made a difference!
