Oh yeah we have to watch for everything, including whooping cough. Youngest DS has had a lot of health issues that have prevented us from immunizing him on a regular basis (he is probably going to be an adult with chronic bronchitis and asthma as he has had it and pneumonia in the past 4 years more than I have in my entire life), so we've picked and choose when we could. DPT is one that we delayed.
I got another set of cards done... slowly plugging away at them. I don't know why I signed up for so many! LOL
I am over half way thru the cards- got Christmas done, just need to post the photo. Been fighting off migraines again- so hard to scrap when you can't see straight. I keep saying "I do NOT have a migraine" "I do not get migraines" it's a battle, but I am determined to win. God did not make me to suffer- He already arranged deliverance- I just need to claim it!!!
I didn't get to making cards like I hoped. Kinda got sucked into the events on TV... Finally I said- "God is in control" and went to bed. Me watching and getting all worked up won't change a thing. When my DH told me the results this morning I was momentarily saddened but then my heart lifted knowing that God is in control & it is just one more sign to Jesus returning!!!
Freakin' homework is killing me. I couldn't concentrate yesterday after being up until 2 am watching election results and speeches. I'm a close political junkie.
That said, I was indifferent as to who would win of the two major parties. They're both status quo, so it wouldn't have effected me either way, other than it would be more of the same. Which makes it weird that I stayed up so late watching it.
I finished the Christmas batch but I can't share them until later because I made them for a DT post that doesn't go up until November 29, so I can't share it until then. I will, however, be sending them out to Cassondra prior to that, I'm sure. I'm pretty excited about how they turned out!
Curious if you card making ladies have had a problem with postage?
Our po says that if it feels like a homemade card it is at least 20 cents extra postage, 1 embellie at least 2 stamps and sometimes up to $1.50. I have the tool Cassondra made that helps with thickness but our po lady said that isn't always the case. I just hope with all the cards I sent, someone didn't have to pay extra postage.
Still finishing mine- trying to finish up my 46 Christmas cards to round out the total I'm sending.
That doesn't make any sense- "feels like a homemade card" they will charge extra??? What? Never heard of that & I've been sending quite a few- there are quite a few bulky store bought cards too- so "feels like" - some how that is just wrong.
Those weren't her exact words, but she just mentioned that homemade cards and ones from the store that resemble them and are thicker are getting returned or delivered with postage due.
I've been mailing homemade cards for a few years now and would be mortified if someone had to pay for extra postage. She said she even had a college boy come in to pay his postage due, complaining that he had to pay an extra dollar to get his card.
Just curious if you ladies had that problem.

I've never had a problem with my cards, but I have 10 cent stamps that I usually stick on ones that are more than a quarter of an inch thick. My mailman is pretty good at leaving them if he doesn't think there's enough postage. It's only happened once in the nearly 13 years we've lived here!
So far no one has told me they've had to pay extra postage, but I try not to be overly dimensional anyway on cards I'm mailing- as they could get crushed and not look good on arrival. Usually when my card is thick is because I put a fat letter in it LOL
I send out Birthday cards with a little something in them, I go to the PO and I have them stamped hand sort and pay .20 extra. Its worth the extra .20 to have them not torn going through the sorting machines.
Well, I'm heading to see Pookahbot tomorrow, and I threw some stuff in a bag specifically to make cards. Hopefully, I'll be able to get them done, plus the monthly sketch challenge, along with the sketches for Let's Capture These Sketches.
And I have another big project due on Monday. I feel like I'm going to lose my mind, I hate Photoshop so much right now, and it's one of my favorite programs!
I'm still not done- my scrap time yesterday got sapped up taking care of cleaning up after a sick kitty. Believe me soupy brown kitty puddles on concrete under the stairs is NOT fun to clean up. So I am working tonight & probably tomorrow night on them to finish & mail Wednesday- that is the goal. Here is the sympathy card I just finished:
My GF scrapped one for her step mom as they all went together- but it took her another year to do hers. She says if she ever does a joint trip again she will make duplicate pages as she goes so they both get done. At least you're doing at least one digital- so that should help.
Yeah I'm doing Disney during finals week....... because I have a death wish. OMG I'm ready to leave. Finishing up my last exam today to send off to the teacher before I leave (luckily the instructors have been accommodating).
Hi everyone - I've volunteered to take on the next swap as Cass has been so busy- I've never hosted a swap or any thing on SB.com before- so I'm hoping I can get it set up right- I'll be back in a few to give you all the link
