Great work, ladies!

I will update tonight, but I haven't done anything in almost two weeks as I've been sick. Need to get back into the groove of working on stuff - I was supposed to have finished the rice bags and the Christmas cards by now.

Well, back to work I go.

I'm looking forward to a night this week, where I can just pop on a couple of movies, sit down with the family, relax a bit & just sew.

That's one of my goals for the week.

Okay, I've updated my "first half of November" post, and here's what I've been up to:

November 5: Took pictures of the wall quote for Mom. Got serious with the Cricut and finished six of my gift tags, with the other two in progress. Yay!

November 6: Completed the last two gift tags and took pictures of all of them.

November 7-21: Due to varying levels of sick, didn't really work on anything crafty, between lack of energy and not wanting to get germs on the gifts I would have been making.

November 22: After getting home from my in-laws' for Thanksgiving (where I showed my mother-in-law how to make the glitter ornaments), we did most of the Christmas decorating, everything but the large tree.

November 23: Put up and decorated the large tree! Reviewed the list of people we send Christmas cards to and decided who to prioritize hand-making cards for.

November 24: FINISHED the stocking shopping!

November 25: Started matching up gift boxes to gifts, and got some things nicely settled into their boxes with bubble wrap and air packets. Still need to find a box big enough to hold some 3-ring albums.

November 26: Ordered two more gifts after catching a nice sale online; bought some more crafting gifts for my mom on my dad's behalf; did some gift wrapping. Decided not to make the sewn baby toy for a friend's gift basket; I'm having a hard enough time getting a baby album to her that I made in April for her baby born this July, which is turning me off from making her anything requiring significant effort just now. Placed orders for gifts for my father and father-in-law, which completes all of my 2012 Christmas shopping! (Well, aside from baskets for the gift baskets, but I don't know what size I need yet, and stuff for the Secret Santa exchange at work.)

November 27: Wrapped more presents (this is coming along great!); made plans for cards to present some gift cards in; decided to sign up for a class at the local scrapbook store to take care of my holiday card-making.

Here's what remains on my crafting plate this holiday season:
- 3 rice-filled heat therapy bags (for the gift baskets) - DONE! December 8
- 4 jars of sugar scrub (for the gift baskets) - DONE! December 2
- 12 Christmas cards (cut down from two dozen) - DONE! December 1
- 2 large cards to hold gift cards for my brothers (in lieu of the usual tiny gift bags I put them in) - DONE! November 28

In the first half of December, I would like to:
- Wrap all gifts - DONE! December 8
- Make Christmas cards - DONE! December 1
- Address and mail Christmas cards - DONE! December 5
- Make 4 jars of sugar scrub - DONE! December 2
- Finish three heat therapy bags - DONE! December 8
- Purchase baskets for gift baskets - DONE! December 7
- Purchase and wrap Secret Santa gifts for work - DONE! December 2

Other crafting to be done:
- At least four more scrapbook pages

---

Christmas with my family in Michigan is scheduled for December 15, so I really have only a little over two weeks to get the bulk of my Christmas projects done.

I soo cannot believe that this month is already almost over. I say that most months, but this one especially.

I need some much needed down time & am hoping December is a lot less calm, peaceful & quiet.

I hope the same for each of you!

For the last 2 nights, I've been sewing.

I'm done sewing all the red pieces for my soon-to-be Christmas quilt.

Tonight through Friday, I'll be trying to complete the green pieces.

Once I have all the pieces sewn, then all I have to do is connect them!

Finished up the green pieces for my quilt this morning.

I'm going to need to spread all the pieces out on our diningroom table, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to get to it this weekend. Instead, I may wait until Monday.

Hoping to have all of our outdoor decorations put up, if the weather ends up not being too chilly outside.

Yesterday & late into last night, I ended up cleaning & reorganizing my entire kitchen & diningroom. Cabinets & all.

Out of all the rooms in our house, our kitchen isn't very big. Luckily, I forgot that we had extra shelves in the garage, which ended up helping me solve a major storage issue. Also, this process has helped me decide what to purge (even if it's ever so slowly...)

Lots to do today.

---

November 28: Made the "holiday bucks" cards for my brothers' gift cards, and even wrapped them! (In that I made envelopes for them and attached the gift tags.) Also wrapped one of my husband's gifts.

November 29: After work we went to a retirement dinner for one of my husband's co-workers, and didn't get home until it was too late to do much more than catch up on the internet and go to bed.

November 30: Wrapped five more gifts, and also wrapped everything for my husband's stocking!

December 1: Went to the card-making class and made 25 cards, 20 of which are mailable. Bought some stuff to fill a stocking for my mom. Did not accomplish anything else outside the house because a class that was supposed to go from 12 to 3 didn't end until about 5:30. Got Mom's stocking stuff and most of the remaining presents wrapped; put away all the wrapping materials and got everything arranged under the tree.

Yay!

I started making new jumbo stocking for our family. They are huge, 2-1/2 feet long! I got two done yesterday and have four more to go. I will have to post a picture when I'm done because I was pretty proud of myself for sewing (not a favorite of mine).

I also have to get going this week on Christmas cards! I don't usually make them but I thought it would be a fun project for my seven-year-old son and I to do together. I am lucky that he is always so willing to craft with mom.

I've updated my early December task list back on page 6 of this thread with what I've completed.

---

December 2: Made the sugar scrubs, and added tags and ribbon to them. Bought Secret Santa gifts for work and wrapped them.

---

Still to do: Finish the freaking heat bags, buy baskets or decorative boxes for the gift baskets and then assemble the gift baskets, wrap one other gift, address and mail Christmas cards. Technically only one rice bag needs to be completed by mid-December, but I just want to get them over with.

I haven't properly scrapped in weeks, and before we go to my parents' house for family Christmas in two weeks, I'm going to try to throw some supplies together into page kits to work on while I'm there.

Updated my goals list on page 6 again.

---

December 3: Wrapped the father-in-law's present and double-checked the Christmas card address list so we can start addressing envelopes tomorrow.

December 4: All Christmas card envelopes addressed, and some stamping added to the insides of the handmade cards.

December 7: Bought decorative boxes for the gift "baskets", and assembled two of the gift baskets to completion, tissue paper and everything.

December 8: Wrapped a present for my mom on my dad's behalf. Finished another rice bag, which I'm actually pleased with. In the evening, finished another rice bag, which technically meant I was done with them, but I went back and re-did the one I didn't like from Thursday night. Put together the gift baskets, and ladies, I am DONE with all my Christmas 2012 tasks!

I finally got all my Christmas cards made and sent! I made each one different and tailor-made specifically for the individual or family. It was really fun and relaxing to think about each one of my family and friends who have touched my life in some way and who mean so much to me. Love this time of year!

Yes, I know. I've been MIA. And sick! (Ugh!)

Crazy lady me...ended up sending out a grand total of 67 Christmas cards this year!

Some of the handmade ones that I made this year required custom-made, DIY envelopes.

After Christmas, I'm considering going ahead & making my cards for next year. Not only did I end up finding a super simple design, but if I can kick them out now, I won't have to stress about them next year!

My husband & I stayed up last night from 10pm - 2:30am wrapping presents.

Woke up at 7am to finish working on my last 6 cards, mailed them & went back to bed.

We're having a late brunch & then we're heading out for the very last of our Christmas shopping, then a little bit of grocery shopping.

I still have to buy my oldest 1 last big present (to even out the gifts) and or some warm clothing for myself for when we travel to the mountains on Christmas Eve. Hoping to find the Charlie Brown Holiday DVD set & some polaroid film for my grandparents old vintage instant camera.

Anyways, that's what I'm up to! Have A Great Holiday Weekend Ladies!!

Thank You Tammye! That's really sweet of you.

Lots of chicken soup, hot tea & bundling up have seemed to help.

I just still have a cough, but am determined to get better by Christmas!

I'm going to resist the urge to wrap anymore presents tonight. Just home from shopping. Picked up some metal tins to prepare cookies, brownies & holiday sweets & treats to pass out to family. Also, grabbed some gift bags to save myself the trouble of wrapping. And lastly, found some really cute gift tags & Christmas cards (for next year) that were already on sale!

Yes, I still have to make 1 last final trip to the store. For my daughter & for my teenage niece.

After that & the last of the wrapping, I'm done! Yay!

With only 2-3 days left to spare...

Does anybody else have anything else left to do?

At this point, I hope all is calm...all is bright!

Put together my cookie tins.

Packed.

Went shopping 1 last time this afternoon.

Picked up a couple more little gifts, some gift tags & also went ahead and bought all of my Christmas cards for next year!

Watching Polar Express with the kids. I think I'm going to set the alarm, take a power nap, & then finish up the last of my wrapping while the rest of the family sleeps soundly.

Leaving first thing in the morning. So let me just say...

Merry Christmas Everyone! Have A Wonderful Holiday & A Happy New Year!!
