Sign up close: Feb 15th
Due date: March 8th
Return ship date: March 12th

This is a full kit swap using Graphic 45's Bird Song collection. Use only the papers from that line or good quality coordinating card stock (Bazzil, ect)

The idea is that each person will chose a part of the kit and make one per participant in the swap. When it's done and swapped, everyone should have a full kit with lots of embellishments and personal touches to assemble however they chose.

Rules:

1. Use ONLY the pp from the Bird Song line. Use the actual paper, not scans, copies, etc. Use only good quality (Bazzil, etc) cardstock that coordinates with the colors in the Bird Song line. "Close enough" might not match someone elses "close enough"

2. Whatever item you sign up for, make one per person in the swap. If you sign up for multiple items and want to end up with multiple kits, let me know, or I'll still only count you as one. I will keep a count of participants at the bottom of this post.

3. Do your best. Clean cuts, securely glued. If you don't have the time/inclination/creative juices to create something homemade, we can add pre-made/no-fuss items upon request...such as 12x12 pieces of patterned paper, pre-made dies, etc. This collection has a lot of extras that would make great contributions.

4. Check in at least once per week, and follow through on your commitment in a timely manner. If your items are not received within 3 days of the due date, they will be sent back to you. Please don't flake...it's just not cool.

5. Send your goodies in a 12x12 baggie. You can put smaller items in a smaller baggie inside, but other peoples creations/contributions may be large, and I'd hate for your stuff to get damaged when being shipped back to you. Label the 12x12 bag with your screen name and the swap name. Include also a small baggie with a return label to you and the return postage, averaging $4.50 for 1 kit, $5.50 for 2, etc, or close to it. I will return extra postage.

6. In a padded/protective envelope/box large enough to hold 12x12 paper, ship your goodies to:
Kris Bayle
8080 Doyle Rd
Laingsburg MI 48848

7. Have fun. That's what scrapbooking's all about. Post your creations as you complete them, then others can coordinate/avoid duplicates.

Each item on the list includes the minimum expected...feel free to do more if you so desire.

Embellishements include, but are not limited to, paper piecing, stickles, gems, brads, chalking, distressing, inking, embossing, stitching, etc....but do not use stickers not included in the set.

Yay! Could I please have 1 large die (or embellishment) and 2 small dies? I think.....what fits better? I am planning on doing a kimono in the Songbird Papers! Is that an embellishment or large die? It's up to you. For the small dies I am doing two different Japanese fans also in the papers! I am so excited! Can't wait! I would like two kits please.....?

Thanks for starting this early Kris!

No, you don't. We usually just say which 12x12 pieces that are being provided so that they'll all be different.

I would like to join (I am kinda new). I do have the paper pack and could send one 12x12 to everyone in the group. I'm not sure if the paper needs to be all the same or if is just suppose to be cordinating papers. If paper thing doesn't work out I have some great stamps that would go well with this line or I could do something else. Please let me know.
Thanks,
Julia

I would like to do embellishments. I have a cute little stamp of an Asian girl holding an umbrella (? is that what they are called?)

I also want 2 kits, but don't know how that works. Do i need to sign up for two categories? If so, I also want 'other', but I don't know what I'm going to do just yet. I'll have to get the whole pad of paper and then see what my creative brain comes up with.

So glad you chose this paper!!!!!!!!

Yes, to get two kits you'd need to provide 2 parts. I'll but you down for embellishements and other.

Is it a parasol?

This is the kimono cut I plan to use for this swap. I will naturally use the Bird Song Papers instead of the Basic Grey I have used, but I couldn't resist trying it out and I don't have the papers yet. I thought this paper was perfect for a kimono though!

Hope you are all as excited about this swap as I am! My scrapping shop is closed Sunday so I have to wait until Monday afternoon before I can go get the papers! Can't wait!

O.K., so I have been thinking about it and decided not to do two fans but to do a fan and a pagoda. These die cuts look amazing and I have done them to match the G45 paper range. Please be honest and tell me what you think.

Teia - That's why they're 6x6...completely cuttable from the larger sheets!

oh, haha, I found it. Thanks gals

I do not like having to pay shipping, I don't know why it bugs me so much, so I'm going to call that new scrap boutique i found and see if they will order it for me. Another customer said the owner will do that sort of thing. But if she marks up the price, it will cost more then the shipping price. I'm not cheap...I just want my scrap allowance to stretch!!

I hear ya! It occurred to me a few swaps ago, that, since I'm not exactly close to my lss's (about 20-25 miles in opposite directions) I waste more in gas driving all over looking for them than I would just ordering online. So, now I have a good idea which ones carry which brands and only check one.

I broke down and ordered it from here. great prices!

In case anyone is interested, they have a clear stamp set at Joanne's that would go very well with this set. I forgot to bring a coupon, so I have to go back to get it. I don't remember what all is in it, but there was a cherry blossom background, a lantern, and some mandarin characters. It was a good selection!

I got sciberrasjjj's goodies today!

When I was updating the front page with that check in, I noticed the kit count at the bottom was wrong...I hope that didn't throw anyone off. In the thread I did say that we were closed at 12, but I left the count at 11. If it did mess anyone up...and I hope it didn't since I've only gotten a couple things, but I'll short my kit so you'll all get full ones.

Some of the stamps are the ones from Joann's that crystal is talking about.

yes, Joann's, but it's a set, not single stamps!! Can't wait to go back and get it.

my paper came! what a beauty. Picked up the stamps at Joann's, and as soon as I finish a few other swaps I can get started with this. I am using this paper in 2 swaps this month, so I can't wait.

Just an update on shipping...my understanding of the new postal tracking rules is, that if you do metered postage (send money) you get tracking automatically....if you send stamps, you don't. Just an fyi.

Received my patterned paper today! I also got some bird song chipboard tags. I'll include at least one tag per kit. Now I need to get my solid card stock and then start cutting.

I keep finding things to include in the goodie bag. I found two asian lantern stamps and a square asian stamp in my stash. So I'm going to be including those stamped images in the bag. I punched out photo corners from the Martha Stewart punch. Each person will get 3 sets. Two black and one red. I'm having fun finding extras to include.
