Welcome to the July Budget Challenge!
We're here to stay within limits on our scrappy spending!!! (Or try to...) We have plenty of enabling going on

We take turns hosting (whomever has time that particular month) as it gets a bit chaotic sometimes! We are a chatty bunch of savers and enablers!

The rules: List your scrappy budget for the whole month. Then list the high priority items that you want to buy this month!

Tell us how much you spend throughout the month, and keep track of it as you spend. We like details about your shopping around here. No such thing as TMI! You do not have to include costs for adhesives, swaps, gifts or shipping. Please round to the nearest dollar value.

Please enable and tempt us to buy the wonderful items we want....but don't tempt us to bust our budget!!!

I have removed the twist as a requirement but you can still indicate one if you so choose.

This month I am going on a scrap store trip with some girlfriends. I have no needs so for my wishlist just impulse buys $100.

Interesting thread. I am really in a very tight budget so I am only spending money for mailing scrapbook.com swaps. My only buy will be adhesive as needed and only with coupons! I must stay under $100.00!

Well Tammy, it all started with this one piece of paper. I have this Smash book I'm not at all crazy about, and I decided to turn it into something like an art journal. A bucket list art journal of the things I've already completed and the things I still want to do. I covered the front with paper I loved and forgot about it. Sunday I went to cover the back and realized I did not have any more of that paper. Oh the horrors! This paper is super old Webster's Pages that I got in their warehouse box 2 years ago. I feared I wouldn't find anymore, but I searched and found the last pieces in the universe at the Fruit Site. I couldn't pay $5 in shipping for 2 sheets of paper could I? I felt obligated to toss a few more things in my cart. Then I got to take 20% off of the total with a coupon, and I cashed in my cherries and got another $5 off, so not too terribly bad, right? At least that is what I'm telling myself.

and an announcement - our dear sweet Courtney and her hubby Dom are now the proud parents of a healthy baby girl! No word on a name but I am sure Courtney will now have new reasons to justify her budget busting! (and who would blame her)

How are you across the pond, Tammy, and still beat me to the announcement?! Probably cuz I hadn't been online all weekend and didn't realize I didn't have this challenge saved to my faves! *gasp* The horror!
Glad you posted cuz I was ready to! Isn't she darling?! (I so had Courtney pegged to have a boy tho...) Darling name too!

My budget should be zero, but that's completely unrealistic (right Kelly??) And I totally get you too... I hate paying shipping so always try to make it worth my money!

I have $50 gc for M's and $25 gc for sb.com burning holes in my pocket and the stupid Peachy deal today is the Indie Chic goodies I really love...

My budget will be an even $100 cuz I cannot just spend $25 on sb.com (hello shipping!)
Wishlist: KeyLime by BB, adhesive (usually they don't count on here), AC woodables, Boy stuff, rolling storage cabinet, washi tapes
Twist: Don't buy ANYTHING this month...

Yeah, Tammy... I'm a walking contradiction! LOL! I did avoid the Peachy deal yesterday, but I'm sooo close to caving on today's washi tapes....

Broke my twist over the weekend...

Went for a long walk through the little shopping area near our place on Saturday with DS and stopped at the LSS there. They haven't really had much selection of serious scrappy stuff, but I thought I'd pop in anyway. Turns out she's changing that, she's starting to carry the goodies like Prima, Bo Bunny, American Crafts, Echo Park, etc. She ordered a lot of stuff from the last CHA, and I grabbed a few pieces of the Prima Wishes and Dreams papers cuz they were just too pretty not to! Only spent $8 cuz I resisted the flowers and chipboards (only just) because what am I going to do with flowers with a boy?!

SOoooo....
Budget: $100-8=$92
Wishlist: KeyLime by BB, adhesive (usually they don't count on here), AC woodables, Boy stuff, rolling storage cabinet, washi tapes
Twist: BUST!

I soooo understand Kelly. Tomorrow is an annual road trip with my scrapping buddies. We drive 2 hours away to Archiver's and hit a few other scrap stores. I don't need a thing and am even dreading it a bit. Temptation! We do end up at a casino tho and play bingo. It is a blast. We get looks from all the regulars with all their good luck charms surrounding them because we get too loud and giggling. We never win but someone near us usually does.

Oh I've used flowers on some of his pages, but these were the over-the-top girly ones Prima does. SO pretty, but I already have so many!

Went to M's today to return some things we'd gotten for the bday party. I ended up exchanging them for other stuff so only spent about $6 in all. Got some washi tape, 4th of July papers and a new glue stick.

Budget: $100-8=$92-6=$86
Wishlist: KeyLime by BB, adhesive (usually they don't count on here), AC woodables, Boy stuff, rolling storage cabinet, washi tapes
Twist: BUST!

Had a fun day, only spent $10. I really need nothing.
Didn't win on Bingo either. The pots were mostly $777. Some $1199. One was $10,500. No one won the large progressive. It is still rising

I did not enter a monthly challenge but just popping in here. I had a $25 gift card to a big , national chain craft store. I have not and will not use any more than that in this Month. I am already coveting some new punches from Fiskars. I think they will be released soon after CHA. One is a sweet rooster.

I did some damage while visiting my family in Indiana. Michael's has these new punch and stamp sets. I picked out one. Also picked up a paper pack, a wood tray thingy, and some random boy embellishments on clearance. I also visited the clearance sale at A's. Got an OA paper pack, two more punches, and lots of MR embellishments.

I'm done for the month. $0.

I'm still being good even though Ms has tons of stuff on clearance super cheap. Half of the spring card making stuff is down to .99. I just have no need for anything. It's quite depressing.

Alissa, is the punch and stamp thing by Recollections? I bought one of those before it even made it to the floor.

I saw those punches, Alissa! Actually I saw the MS circle punches too and added those to my ever-expanding wish list...

I did NOT cave on any of the Peachy deals this week and was good about avoiding the Boy deal here on Saturday (mostly cuz I saw it too late... but that's not the point!) so I was good! I'm even taking something back to M's today... Apparently I really liked one of the washis I bought last week... I already HAD it!

I truly need nothing!

Looks like we're all either really busy, or really broke! No one's spending this month! Don't think I'll bust, but I did spend a little today using my M's gift card. Kelly I tried for the clearance washis, but they didn't have any good ones left. THey did have cool new ones, but I've already outgrown my washi storage rack!

Did get one of the new Heidi Swapp masks (the starburst, been wanting that one!! the reference is just an example), a couple embellies I had been eyeing that were on clearance and a few that... well... weren't!

Budget: $100-8=$92-6=$86-16= $70
Wishlist: KeyLime by BB, adhesive (usually they don't count on here), AC woodables, Boy stuff, rolling storage cabinet, washi tapes
Twist: BUST!

Already got my budget and wishlist for next month cuz I will not bust this month!!

I did spend $5 on paper on Saturday and forgot to mention it. I just have so much it is hard to get excited about spending these days. I only bought to be buying if that makes sense. My gf's and I have had this trip planned for a while and felt guilty not spending while with them.

I have so much, not many wants even.
I have also been restraining myself because I was supposed to sign up at 7am today for scrapfest at Mall of America in September. It is 3 days of make and takes and workshops and 3 nights in a hotel. Eating out and shopping at A's. The gal I usually go with has to work out of town that weekend and 3 others have backed out. Last one was on Sunday. I don't want to go by myself, so on the positive side I saved a ton of money. But right now I am feeling very sad and having a pity party for myself.

Oh Tina! I'm sorry to hear that! Doesn't Katie live near you? Maybe she would want to meet up and go... Just a thought! Wow... 3 days of scrappy shopping... My head is spinning just thinking about the $$$ I would spend!!

Maybe check the forums for Scrapfest and people that are going. You might be able to meet up with some sb.com addicts!

Am I enabling or what?!

My budget is safe for the rest of this month... all two days of it! hehehe
