That happened to me. Called Fiskars and they sent me a replacement, no questions asked. Made it worth every penny I paid for the trimmer. And switching the old out for the new was no problem. Good Luck!

You don't have to wait. Take a photo of the trimmer and email their customer service tonight with the photo attached and your complaint. They will replay back in a few days and then send you a new trimmer. This has happened to me twice on the same trimmer you have, there is no easy way to replace the wire so they send you a new trimmer.
I had them replace a punch that wouldn't punch all the way through and didn't ask for the old one back. Friend of mine had her husband tear it apart and was able to get it working right so she ended up with a punch. Like she said she didn't have anything to lose
If you have submitted a warranty claim online, consider your claim handled and you will receive a replacement part or a new tool within 3-4 weeks. I sent my e-mail at 8:06 and received a reply at 8:08.
I realize it was a computer generated reply, but based on what it says, I think I'm good now!
Hopefully I do get a replacement!

I re-visiting this to sing Fiskars praises!
The last time I checked in, Fiskars was sending me a replacement piece. I received it shortly after they sent me the e-mail that they were going to do so. I received the replacement part and attached it to my trimmer and it worked good as new.
Just a couple of weeks ago I was having the same exact problem! Booooo!
So then I thought maybe it was due to the replacement blade I bouight; maybe I had bought the wrong one??
I e-mailed fiskars again, explaining the situation and asked them if could maybe send me a replacement blade to see if that was in fact the problem. I honestly figured they wouldn't bother sending me anything, after all they had already sent me some free merchandise and most likely the problem I was having was my fault anyway...
I have 2 Fiskars trimmers, and I've never had any trouble from either one of them. Never had the wire fray or any problem at all. But it's great to know if I ever do experience any problems, they stand behind their products!
