Welcome to the October edition of New Layouts. Thanks to Anna for hosting September!

This thread is for sharing love on new layouts. If you don't do a lot of challenges, this is a great thread for getting your wonderful work seen and even if you do a lot of challenges...well one can never have too much love!!

It's a challenge of sorts though.... keeping up on giving love can be a real challenge!! We all JCI (Just Check(ing) In) often and try so hard to be ACU (All Caught Up) and MMS (Mark My Spot)... but let a day go by and you'll be VFB (Very Far Behind). We've also been known to toss about and create some new acronyms!!

The rules for this thread are simple: Post a newly uploaded layout, card or project, get comments and give comments on everyone's pages. No "drop and runs" please. If you get love be kind enough to give love back. There are NO challenges and NO Requirements on the TYPE of comments you leave, just be sincere but if you can't say something nice then don't say anything at all. But I'm sure you can think of something nice to say!

Please also remember several people post here; try not to flood the post with too many layouts at once. Please be considerate and do not post more than 5-7 in any post. No limit per day.

So, think you can do it??? Then come on by and join the fun! This thread has gained a fairly regular following. We enjoy seeing new people come by to share their work and join in the fun! You can join in at any time. Just remember that it is more fun if you give love and get love too!

Here is how to put your layout photo on a thread:
1. Go to layout/picture you want to post on the thread.
2. Scroll down to where it says "Share"
3. Click "Link & Embed Image"
4. Click on "IMG CODE (for forums and bulletin boards)" Make sure the little dot is in front of that phrase now.
5. Select what size you want the picture to be on the thread, most of us select "Larger".
6. Copy and Paste the Embed Code Below:
7. Paste the code to the thread as a new post. When you paste it you will only see the code. The picture will not appear until you post or preview your reply.

While this is a laid back community of artists and crafts people sharing their work and support, it's not a place to just drop off work and not visit the galleries of others in the thread. We encourage you to enjoy all the marvelous talent and leave comments! Should you encounter a problem with another poster in this thread, please PM them directly to ask your question or resolve your issue. The hostesses are not referees and can't step in the middle for you.

Speaking of hostesses..... this is a collaborative effort. We are rotating the job of hosting the thread. Included in the opening post is the schedule of hostesses over the next couple months. If you are interested in hosting.... please PM the current month's hostess to let her know. (BTW - the current month's hostess would be the one who started the thread) Hope everyone has a wonderfully creative month and gains inspiration and encouragement from each other!

Thank you Anna for hosting Sept. and Shaetma for getting up going in October.

Sure Andrea, you may join us. Just take a minute to read the rules.

I should have gone back and read the end of Sept. I will in a minute.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. I know there was a lot of rain in the PNW and other spots in the US. It was gorgeous here and is today too.

My walking partner, Lynn, called and we walked from 9 to 10. I had only gotten up at 8:30. i really didn't want to go but made myself. It was cool probably 54. But Tues. and Wed is supposed to be 80.

Lynn and I decided we should purge something today. So I am off to try and part with something. Wish me luck!

Have a great day.

Made THE best dinner. Breakfast porkchops cooked in pork gravy until falling apart, stove top stuffing and the gravy the meat was cooked in, Pistachio Pudding (Watergate Salad or as we call it Mandy's salad as it was her first solid food her grandpa fed it to her and she loved it!), oven fried zuchinni from pinterest (yummmmmy) and a poke cake. Too full to try the poke cake yet it was also a pinterest recipe. mmmmmm

Good morning ladies!

Welcome to the gang, Andrea! I look forward to seeing your work here!

Enjoy your library time, Cheryl!

Denise, your dinner sounds so good. I've tried quite a few things from Pinterest that are keepers but also a few we didn't like so much.

I think I saw on FB that Terry made it home safely.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Hello dear friends! I'm baaaaccckkk!!!
I'll have to go cu on sept thread but I just wanted to drop in here too.

Thanks Anna for Sept and Shatema for October. I'm marking my calendar so I don't forget to do Nov!

Had a total blast in KS. The store grossed over $40,000 and that made us really happy. Already planning for next year which will be in Corning CA....north of wine country (Jeannie) and in what they say is the olive capital of the US.

Welcome Andrea, I'm Terry (abby is my dog) and I live in SW WA. While all the rain was pouring down here, I was in KS for 2 wks. I'm a graphic and database designer for industrial mills and unemployed at the moment. Have 2 sons, 4 grandchildren, and 3 step-grands from Thailand.

Cathe:
Purging??? Have fun! I'm not a hoarder (except for scrapping stuff) but I hate tossing out something I might use. I'd rather toss out hubby's stuff!!!!
Anna:
Loved the FB photos!
Shatema:
How's KeKe? And school?

I'll have a lot of time to cu tomorrow. Hubby goes in for his knee replacement surgery tomorrow morning at 5:30am. So I'll be at the hospital most of the day.

See ya then....

Hey there gang!

Donna- Happy Anniversary..and many more. Is silver Patron a beverage???? Hope the mammo can back fine.

Denise--stay safe in the storm!!..hope it is over by now. I can't believe I didn't get in there this morning.

I walked about an hour. Did 2 loads of laundry, but went to put the detergent in the second load...all out. So I ran to Menard's, to get some. Decided to stop and get lunch meat at the grocery store so I wouldn't have to go back out tomorrow. I went to The Goose Barn (a barn with a business in it selling card making and scrapping supplies--picture in my gallery). Then I stopped at Culver's (fast food chain started in Wis.-good food) to get DH and me a burger and came home.

Mel--so good to see you.

Andrea yhea on DS winning his football game. Is this an organized league or a bunch of friends playing?

Cheryl I keep waiting for the Disney LOs.

Gotta go get the laundry out of the dryer. bbl (maybe)

Welcome, Andrea! I'm from central CA... In the Sierras. We have 3 grown DD's....all out on their own... So it's just DH and I....oh, and one of our DD's golden retriever...temporarily...

Denise....hope the storm has blown by...here we are experiencing mid 80's, sunshine....

Donna....Happy 25th anniversary! Hope you have a great day!

Terry...how was your trip to SE KS?

Cheryl, did you enjoy your run in the rain?

I'm sure Jeannie is having a wonderful time in Dizzyland. My brothers have posted some pix on FB of the whole gang there... Looks like they're having a blast!

My Kindle died on me last week... I had over 500 books downloaded on it and had only read about 170 of them so far. DH ordered me the new Kindle paper white.... I hope to get it within the next week...

Good morning ladies!

Donna, I had the boob squash yesterday too. And was prodded and poked too. Hope you got a good report. I gotta go back this morning.

Lots of great layouts have been posted already. I haven't even had time to go into my scrap room since I got back from Texas.

Terry, how's Steve doing?

Mel, glad you stopped by.

Hello to everyone else here and have a great day!

Denise, your parents back home safe and sound?

Denise, I've downloaded all my books thru Amaxon...98% were freebies. I can go into my amazon account and into my "library" where it lists all the books I've downloaded....and from there I can download them into my new kindle....which should be arriving Monday!

Lots of cool LOs and I need to look at them when I get back from the hospital. Steve's in great mood and very happy with the surgery. The dr only ended up doing a partial which was good. But there was something about the spinal tap and the anesthesia they used that was making him itch like he "had fleas". His description!
I'm late...so I'll check in later and get cu.

Hello! stopping in to say hello

I cut my walk short and it was probably a good idea. It started raining. I don't know if I would have gotten wet or not.

DH's golf got cut short, he has a raincheck.

Terry-glad to hear Steve's surgery went well.

Katy-isn't technology wonderful that your books are stored elsewhere and you can retrieve them.

Andrea- love the cool blues. You said you and your Dh were at Great Wolf Lodge? Is that a resort type hotel with an indoor water park? There is a hotel/water park in Wisconsin Dells named Great Wolf Lodge. My DD and family go there a couple of times a year.

Off to scrap. BE Good!

My kids have school off today and tomorrow.

Katy do you have amazon prime for getting books on your kindle? I have a kindle and love it. My mom bought both my kids a kindle fire for Christmas this year. I am thinking about getting them each a prime account as a gift from dh and I.

It is fun to come in and see new LOs and new cards.

I am excited. I found some postcards my dad wrote to my mom and us kids. It was 1953 on the postmark. He fished in Canada. Once he bought me a pocket knife with Queen Elizabeth's coronation picture on it. I still have the knife. I guess it would be too lumpy to put in a scrapbook. I think I have a photo of it. What a funny gift for a little girl!

Aww, that is a great memory. I carry a pocket knife most days in my purse and have for a long time. Don't think I had one as a little girl though. Maybe it was the image on it that made it seem good for a girl...

Good morning! Got acu since I've been up for over an hour.
Yesterday was pretty funny at the hospital. Every nurse etc that came in to see Steve ended up walking thru the door scratching inc me. He's just got a bad case of it and everyone says it's from the spinal plus the oxycodone. It's non-stop scratching!!! Otherwise he's doing great and will be home today.

Fantastic work everyone.
Cheryl:
What happened to Ryan? I'm so worried and in the dark! How did the MRI go? I hate those things and I can imagine how scary for him.
Anna:
Did you have a great trip? Loved your FB photos!!
Denise:
How's your allergies? I saw the "Karen" path... Those poor people in New Orleans...Also love your Fennimore Los.
Andrea:
Was the Great Wolf the one in Olympia?
Katie:
Good to see you back! How's your hubby's arm?
Jeannie:
Photos please!!! How was your trip?
Donna:
Whatz up? Did hubby get you the silver Patron?
Cathe:
I'm sure it was the photo and not the knife. I can see Steve doing that for daughter.

Better go and get this house in order before I get DH. Have a sweet day!

Terry its actually in Grand mound/ Rochester WA. Its about 35 min from Olympia. We used to live in roy/yelm WA so it was only about an hour from us. Most of mine and dh's family live in Mossyrock - Chehalis area. I Grew up in Packwood WA. Do you know where that is?

I wanted to go back there on vacation this year since my kids love it so much. We didn't make it though. Maybe next year.

Glad your Dh gets to go home today but again ugh on the itching that must really be annoying.

Denise --is that YOU??? Every time I see it I think of a girl in my High School class.

Jeanne- we want to live vicariously through you so bring on the photos.

I saw on fb that Cheryl's grandson had an MRI and is going to have an EEG. We haven't heard why. I just keep praying he is ok.

I was at my aunt's funeral today in my hometown. I will link a photo of the church altar. This is the church I grew up in. It is special.
My Church By Scrappin 2

They sure don't make churches like this anymore. There were 4 Catholic churches in Streator when I grew up. They have closed 3 and kept St. Stephan's open. (population of Streator has dwindled). They Changed the name of the church!! It will always be St. Stephan's to those who attended there. It was a BIG to do when they changed the name. There were a lot of angry people. Kind of funny in a way, I think God frowns on anger. lol

Good morning ladies!

Cheryl, thinking of you and Ryan!

Donna, yes, after three cysts were aspirated and tissue taken from a nodule, everything turned out to be clear. I got my results late yesterday. It has been a stressful week worrying about this and my husband's job. His mines was shut down two weeks ago but he and four others were not laid off but retained to do mine repairs, maintenance, etc. We find out Monday if he is permanently laid off or will be relocated to another mine. We are fearful that this is a permanent lay off because the other miners were told to apply for unemployment.

Our current administration does not support coal and I fear that my area will dry up and blow away. Ok....I won't rant on this subject any further.

Jeannie, glad you had a good time. Look forward to seeing some photos.

Terry, hope your DH has stopped itching by now.

Hi Shatema!

Jo, just breath! I wish I had your energy!

Cathe, your church is very beautiful. So sorry about your loss.

Hi to the newbie and everyone else here. Have a wonderful Saturday.

Good morning!
The itchies are still there with a rash now. He's being quite ridiculous at moment saying he thinks they may be shingles when all the med staff are telling him its the oxycodone & anesthesia. Men make bad bad patients! It's going to be a long month....

Cheryl:
I so hope Ryan and your family are ok!
Anna:
How horrible!~ I won't rank but I do feel for you & your hubby! Hope it works out..
Also glad your mammo is fine. I hold my breath every time and I have to have 2 a yr!
Donna:
What fun shopping! I'd love to see your purse lineup! I'm on a quest to find the "perfect" pair of shoes and especially the "perfect" bra. I hate bras...blah! Not to worry about never scrapping...we all were born to it!
Cathe:
that's a beautiful church. I was raised a Catholic too. When we went to Rome, I was in awe of the majesty of St. Peter's. I never knew it was that big and that gorgeous.
Jeannie:
So glad you had such a great time! Definitely gather up the photos!

Off to get dressed...I fear I'm going to have to mow the lawn...

Anna, so sorry about DHs job issue, hope it resolves itself with good results. Our current pres is wrong to oppose it...

Glad all came back well with the mammos.

Donna, never scrap again, noooooooooo!

Have fun at the mall Cathe.

Terry..LOL re your wanting to purge your dh's stuff. How's his "fleas"?

Hi Andrea..I'm Jeannie...I live in the SF bay area with my dh, two grown dds and 2 weird doggies.

So Cathe..did you get your detergent? if that were me doing all that stuff I'd prolly forget the one thing I went out to do...happens.
How cool to find that old post card...and yeah funny gift for a girl but a great momento right?

Katy..another Kindle??? Good ole' Lloyd!

Denise that dish sounded good...dsng it...I'm back on the diet today....no fun.

Donna hope you had a great anniversary. I can't remember if I pmd my address to you...lemme know.

I gotta get acu up the love...lots of great layouts here.

Well I didn't get as many great shots as I would've liked. You can't take flash pics on the rides and the pics that are taken automatically on some rides, the ones you can buy afterwards..were hideous...sooo...most of my pics are softly out of focus shots of just us peeps. As soon as I get new printer ink and feel like scrapping I will share some more. This one is of my older brothers girlfriend, me, Roni, my sister in law and a family friend. We all have tiaras on..wore them a few times.

Hello

I saw on fb that Cheryl's grandson is ok. WHEW!!!

Ok Jeannie which gal are YOU??? as I can't tell from your avi...there are 2 blondes. Are you in the green dress?

Terry- yes it is going to be a LONG month for you. My DH is the only man I know that isn't a baby about being sick. lol

Had a nice time at the mall. I bought a long sleeved knit shirt that I probably don't need. I must go thru my old ones and pitch a couple. I wear long sleeved t's all winter. Too hot in anything else.

Have a good evening. I feel so relieved now that I know Ryan is ok.

Good evening!!

I am home and Ryan's tests all came back negative. We are not sure why he has had a speech regression but the doctors feel with therapy and time, it will return to normal. Thank you for all your prayers and concern.

I am ACU with love and will chat more tomorrow.

Good morning!!

Boy was last night a nightmare of weather with tornado warnings and flash flooding. The cold front came through and is 56 degrees right now. I am getting ready to go to church and then spend the afternoon scrapping.

I hope you all have a blessed Sunday!!

Good morning ladies!

Cheryl:
If you don't mind my asking, what went on with Ryan that alerted you to have testing done. Did he quit talking? I am so glad that the doctors arent' worried. Also glad that weather didn't do any tornadoes in your area!
Denise:
What fantastic photos those are! I sometimes wonder why in that time frame they didn't smile for their photos. Everyone always looks worried or mad or just stoic.
Donna:
In the xmas card exchange are there any rules? Like make the same design or mix it up? Are we to post them here? What was the date: Dec 1?

And a big hi to all! Anyone know of anything like chalk board paper? Just curious...

I'm now thinking that the itchies are really a bad reaction to the Oxycodone. This now is a bumpy rash all over his back, butt, and now down the legs. Its Sunday but I'm calling them anyway in an hour.

Terry..I had an allergic reaction like that too..I looked like a pinto horse and itched all over except my face and hands...they just change the meds twice before we found one that didn't itch...but the rash went right away.

Anna glad your tests were clear and I really hope your dh gets to keep his job.

Cheryl..I must've accidently skipped over the part about Ryan...so sorry but glad his prognosis is good.

Jon and I ended up sitting around doing nothing constructive yesterday...today I get started..in fact I got started raking leaves last night..I moved a planter box and there were a zillion ants under it...those things freak me out so I sprayed those. Then when I went out later to continue raking I had a run in with biggest spider EVER and called Jon out to do something..he said "don't kill it..it gets rid of the ants"....Oh really cuz he ain't doing his job then...anyway I called it a day and came back in...I'm ready to go back out there and brave the big and little bugs....not.
It is a lovely day though..I gotta do something.

Did I tell you how good the food was we had everywhere we went??? I'm on my diet now so I keep thinking of say...the Monte Cristo sandwich we had 2 hours after we got to Disneyland...at the Blue Bayou...right by the water. aaahhhhhhhh

Hey... this is truly the busiest I have been in a while! It's been non-stop! Had people come in nearly everyday of the week, some staying 2 days, others three...some came in Tuesday,Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday...I had two quick turn overs...cleaning cabins at 11:00 at night. Cleaning at 7:00 a.m. One "walk-in" last night, just as Wild Bill and I were leaving for the ATV Club Election meeting. Mandolin musician passing through from Maine to Upper New York State.
At the meeting, Bill was voted in for VP and I as Secretary another year. Then there's the bath house. Cleaning it and then the other half under construction. Then there's a shift between seasonals...some selling their campers for new ones, selling the old one to someone else in here...everyone wanting to keep their sites...which results in "musical campers"...moving in new campers, out with the old to another site...moving them and people moving their stuff from one place to another. What a circus! Some seasonals came up this weekend to winterize, to clean them out, to pay electric and to pay on the seasonal site's winter storage and partial payment for next year's season...It goes on and on. Hannah to the farm, me running to the store for food and supplies...(more than usual, planning the feast for next weekend)...making another list for that too....paper goods...must remember... aluminum foil....all these little pesky details. Soon it will be over...in one week! Next Monday I'll truly be doing a happy dance! Oh and one good stiff Capt'n and Coke!!!

Terry - Ryan started having speech regression about 3 weeks ago. At first, he was just stuttering, then stopped talking in sentences, and then could not say certain words like mommy, daddy, etc. I was worried about a pediatric stroke. The MRI was to rule out a stroke and or a tumor on his brain. The EEG was to rule out a seizure. All of that was normal. We are not sure what triggered this but they think he will recover on his own with the help of speech therapy.

I have been very lazy today. I guess being at the hospital and the stress of it caught up with me. I even took a nap which I rarely do because it usually gives me a headache.

DH and I finally finished painting all the doors in this house... interior and exterior...what a chore!! We did the interior doors a couple of weeks ago.....I should say HE did all the doors... they are all gorgeous! We did the exterior doors this weekend....He has a paint sprayer and he's like a kid with a toy...It seemed to take almost all weekend to prep the doors and the area and 10 minutes at the most to spray each one.

Cheryl, I'm glad all the tests on Ryan came back negative and I hope that he's back to talking soon!

Jojo...Dang, lady!! Just reading what you are busy doing poops me out!!

Terry, poor DH and all that itching! Can't they give him something to relieve the itching??

I managed to do about 5 minutes of scrapping today..

We're going to go out and get something for dinner since neither of us thought to take anything out of the freezer for dinner....
(I forgot on purpose!!! LOL!!!)

Gotta go get a bit cleaned up...
