have 1000s of travel photos that I never seem to get around to scrapping so for quite awhile I have been thinking that a Travel Challenge would be fun.
Please ONLY post your los in the Challenge gallery if they are for the vote.

The los for sharing should ONLY be posted in the discussion thread.

Rules are simple:

1. Join anytime through October 31st. You must join on the Challenge page. See link below.

2. Paper or digi are welcome - one lo for voting but extras for sharing are fine. Sharing los should only be posted HERE!!!!

3.Please ONLY post your los in the Challenge gallery if they are for the vote.
The los for sharing should ONLY be posted in this thread. I will put voting layouts on the front page but NOT those for sharing so please indicate the one you want for voting when you post.

2 page layouts for voting should be posted with both sides in one photo.

3. Leave love.

4. Do the twist and get an extra vote.

5. Vote beginning November 1st for your top 3 favs.

Those who vote get an extra vote for themselves

This month's twist:

Use a non-English word in your title other than the name of the place or subject.

I am not sure if I'll get anything done but I am here too! We are moving to Scotland at the end of the month so I will have limited time to work on layouts.

May I join again? I scrap chrono and last month just didn't put any travel ones across my desk but this month starts a long run of travel layouts. I'm not sure any are going to be the quality to vote on so for right now they are just for sharing and hopefully I'll come up with one for voting later this month.

Long weekend for the North Americans... great weather here in New England.

Time to get out and enjoy all the fun fall activities that you can - and take lots of photos to scrap.

Tammy, love the new avi. I am a sucker for those boards.
Everywhere I find one I have to get a picture. I am saving them to get a whole double page layout done, Of course I probably have more than enough now but that's my story you know.

Had a wonderful time at the crop yesterday, and I added a layout to the challenge gallery. Our honeymoon album will be entirely Project Life. It's definitely an adjustment to get used to doing Project Life pages. My challenge page, Buonasera has 8 photos on it and LOADS of journaling space. At the crop, this page took up half of a day because I used it for a number of other challenges at the crop: use the new Art Booking Cricut cartridge, use bling, use a "flip flap", make an interactive layout, and participate in a tag decorating contest.

Great photos Henri! My sister lives in San Diego. We visited the zoo last year, and it was incredible! What I remember the most was this little guy....

He was hanging out in the very top corner of his cage and as people would smile and laugh at his cuteness, he would imitate and smile back. When we passed by again almost an hour later, he was still there smiling & laughing. What a character! I'm curious if it was a habit he got into and does all the time - did you see a monkey doing this? I think he is a tufted capuchin. (Took photos of the plaques to help remember the different animals.)

Well, I finished the crop today, DH picked me up and we decided to stay up here one more night so I brought a few things into the hotel to work on. I was able to finish 5 12x112 double layouts and almost finished another one. . .and you know for me that's pretty good LOL

I just couldn't quit taking pictures of the zoo - it is an incredible zoo!

I can't wait to see your new layouts Marty - that is a lot of layout because you put so much work and so much detail in every one. It would take me a month to do one layout like you do and it wouldn't be nearly as nice. I really consider you a scrapbook artist! I always love your work.

hahahhaha. . .that's what I get for trying to type at 3am!! :-) Well, here's one of my first layouts from the weekend. This is at the Achilleoin Palace in Corfu. . . I cut the roses from my Gypsy and layered them, then heat embossed them in pink and green, then I used a little Inka Gold in red and rubbed that on the rose a little. :-) I had those stick pins forever! I'm so happy that I finally found something to use them on! :-)

Beautiful - didn't you love Corfu? We really enjoyed it earlier this year. The Achilleon Palace was fascinating - she was really obsessed with Achilles - all the paintings, artwork and statues of Achilles. And of course Achilleon Palace is named after him.

Marty - it is a painting of Buchanan Street by a guy named Colin Ruffell. I found it on the Edinburgh Arts page.

The statue is of Donald Dewar who became First Minister of the first Scottish Parliament in almost 300 years and is at the top end of Buchanan Street.

That's so cool! It was a great add to the page :-). We haven't been to Glasgow, though we did spend a lot of time in Scotland a few years ago. We stayed in Ballater (up North near Balmoral) and drove all over the place. I just loved it! We enjoyed it so much we talked about someday getting a timeshare . . . maybe someday :-)

Hi again! Well, here's another set from Turkey. . . my husband was stationed in Turkey for a few years (at the Office of Defense Cooperation at the Turkish Embassy in Ankara); and from that tour I had some pretty amazing vacations. Long road trips all over Turkey, we took my son on one trip and my daughter on the other (when we took the one the other spent one-on-one time with their grandparents which they loved!) Anyway, my daughter has always loved Turkey, and she was so excited about going back, and this stop was icing on the cake for her :-)

Hi Chelsea. . .:-) I don't know if I mentioned it or not, but I was born and raised in Phoenix. I was on West side and my husband was on the East side. When we were dating (I won't say how LONG ago that was!) - we used to take day trips, up to Jerome, Sedona/slide rock, Lake Havasu or down to Tucson & Mt Lemon, and he did some hiking down into the Grand Canyon. That was before my digital camera so I didn't take any pics, when I think if it now I'm so bummed. Great that you're getting pics up at the Grand Canyon!

For me, this is the most inspiring challenge on sb.com You ladies have such awesome adventures to share and great ways of scrapping them to tell the stories!

Speaking of travel... I'm off to Baltimore's Inner Harbor for a few days. I don't think there will be time for sightseeing while on business with the Society of Women Engineers, but I'll definitely be bringing back harbor photos

Hi guys! Thought I'd share one of our favorite things on this vacation. . . PIZZA. . . oh brother, we had pizza a one point every single day when we were in Rome. My grandson was in heaven, we had the best little pizza place just around the corner from our hotel, and with a nice little balcony and a view of Rome and the Vatican, it was pretty awesome pizza! LOL
These pics are from Piazza Navona. . .and of course we had to eat while we were there!

quick check in. This morning we got up and had a lovely breakfast in our hotel - the Holiday Inn Express - we got extra points last night since Moose is a gold card member and we were far too tired to go to the bar for a drink.

This morning we moved hotels - we are in a hotel called Thistle Glasgow for the week. Our stuff got dropped off and unloaded about 12ish and then about 3:30ish we went out for a mid afternoon lunch/supper - fish and chips with peas and a beer all for 5.89 and it was two pieces of fish and best of all it was wonderful! Met a couple from Canada sitting at the next table - from about 20 mins from where I lived.

Just made a Moose a hot soak in the tub with some muscle therapy and a cup of coffee. Made myself a tea and I am next in the tub.

If we feel the need to eat we will just go down to the bar restaurant and get something a little later although I am not above thinking a night cp might be in order. Just for medicinal purposes. Breakfast is included and they have a pool and spa here although we could not find my swim suit so perhaps shopping tomorrow.

My mouse appears to be pooched so am having to use the dang keyboard one - hate that! But I am alive and kicking but wiht a wonderful bruise on my leg which I am unsure about how I obtained.

I am blue as one of my best friends passed away yesterday morning from back home. My life without an Annie hug is unfathomable - I keep tearing up - sobbed my heart out for a lot of hours though.

looks like my turn in the tub.

I am so sorry about your friend Tammy. I know you will miss her - words just seem so inadequate. I am truly sorry that you have this hurt.

I'm glad your move is going well and how convenient to have the bar/restaurant right downstairs! That will make it nice.

Enjoy your night cap - for medicinal purposes, of course and get plenty of rest.

I hate the way ugly bruises just show up on me too and I have no idea where I got them. They just appear!

So glad you checked in and updated us!

Thank you my sweet friend Henri. I am doing much better today as Annie`s girls posted some pics last night of the balloon toss after the service and the lake sunset - they were saying goodbye - Annie`s fave way - watching the sunset over Lake Huron at the cottage.

She will always be with me.

A couple of more from me. Sorry they are crooked. It is pouring here and I hurried too much so they wouldn't get wet.

Aloha - checking in to say "Hi!" from Hawaii. We got here this afternoon. Went to Pizza Hut for dinner, Bill is in the shower and I need will take a shower and we are going to bed.

It is 8PM here but to us its after 2AM! Hopefully if we go to bed early we will be on schedule a bit better tomorrow.

Bill rented a silver Mustang convertible because he knows I love to have a convertible in Hawaii - such a treat!

He made a list of things he has to do this time - unpack King Kamehameha license plates, sort the storage and try to condense into one large unit, places to call, ship several pallets of plates.

I mentioned - buy Mayfair truffles for your wife at See's. He laughed and put it on the list. I have looked forward to Mayfair truffles since we left home. They are milk chocolate and the crème inside is loaded with big chunks of maraschino cherries and nuts - pecans I think. My very favorite candy in the world!

That's funny Henri! My Fave is the See's Rum Cherry Nougat. . . I guess I should try the Mayfair! See's is my favorite candy. . . my brother-in-law just brought me a whole box of the nougets from Calif. :-)

Well, I started a layout yesterday, but I was looking at it again, and I'm not sure it's done yet. So I set is aside. . . instead I started cutting a lot of stuff off the Cricut. :-)

I am in Hawaii and here I sit missing my Cricut and the layouts I'm working on. I really want to finish our teenage layouts when we were dating (about 10-12 pages) and today I'm going to post our love story layouts. We have a pretty romantic history - engaged as teenagers and then breaking up for 38 years but he always stayed in touch with my parents and my friends and tried to get back together several times in the 38 years but the timing was off.

I posted the first teenage layout of us last night - but I'm not posting it on this thread - its not travel related. But if anyone wants to see it just click on my gallery. The one layout is there, very simple but it has a good picture from when we were kids. Then today I'll post our love story in the gallery - very blingy and flowery on those pages! Way out of my comfort level!

You are probably exhausted from the move Tammy. Moves take a lot out of you and you just went through a move not that long ago. This was a MAJOR move for you along with a new job!

I finally finished writing and posting our love story but I'm not putting it here - not travel related - but if anyone wants to see it, its in my gallery. Tells all about us meeting and breaking up for 38 years and getting back together. I've been promising and promising to write it out and now I finally have!

These are only for sharing - I already submitted my layout for the challenge. These are done like the project life. If you want to see more of the Mardi Gras floats for next year there are 4 more pages of float pictures in my gallery.

so it turns out that the work won't be done on our flat until Tuesday so no keys until Wednesday and our check out date is tomorrow morning.

Am trying to get approval from the big bosses to either pay for a couple more nights or at least let us book through the Travel sight so we can get the discount. We'll see what happens

Hey all, just popping in to say hi and I'm ACU!

Tammy, sorry your house is delayed but I bet you could use a day or two to chill before the unpacking begins. I'm with you in spirit.

thanks - work sprang for another 6 nights in a hotel if necessary - after that we said we would pay for anything else ourselves - only fair and reasonable but we need to move to a different room (same hotel) tomorrow - into one with twin beds - I like the idea of more sleep - the Moose not so much lol.

Henri when does your ship leave?

Funny Tammy. We leave here tentatively on Nov 17th or around there to go to Nevada. Bill will work a security detail escorting prisoners from California to Nevada. There will be 30 retired Special Forces guys on the detail and I guess they will make a trip or two every day from Nevada to California and back to Nevada.

We will leave there the end of December to go home to get ready for the cruise which leaves Jan 4th.

Bill lives some exciting times! Special forces guys to do a prisoner escort - those must be some prisoners!

I am so tired of living out of a suitcase (even though I had unpacked into this hotel room and had to pack it all up again and will unpack again some tonight but most likely not all) that I thought i didn't want to even think about vacations again however I think I actually mentioned the word vacation at lunch to the Moose - lol - how silly is that. Truly I need to rest and get unstressed from the move first.

Oh Tammy, I feel for you. Living out of a suitcase is okay for vacation but everyone needs a home to rest in. I hope you get settled very soon.

Thanks Mary, for hosting this challenge. I learned so much and enjoyed looking at all the places people scrapped. Thanks to everyone.

Terri you are welcome although once again I have been a terrible hostess.

I am going to give myself one more try to do a good job but if I don't succeed I will be looking for a recruit to take over.

It is time to send your votes - I will take votes till Monday morning and then put up a poll.

Look for the November challenge here:
