for me right now its being able to share the things I like to do. I just joined some swapping groups. This keeps me from being bored when I have nothing to do. I like to scrap because, I find ways to use my pictures that are just laying around collecting dust. Now I can share them in albums all dressed up.
Scrapbooking is a way of life for me. It's more than just a hobby. It's become part of my life, the way I celebrate and document my life and my family's life. It's also a means of expression, both visual and written, and an outlet for my creativity.
Cheaper than therapy! I can go into my scrap room and it's almost zen-like. I lose myself in my "work". It's a great pleasure and I have something beautiful to show for it when I walk out! I find myself spending more and more time in there. Love it!
I like Chris' - for me it is a mission to have our entire married life together organized attractively in books that we can enjoy when we get really old - a way to remember all the small details that would otherwise be forgotten.
Its also a way for my grandchildren to know us and to learn about travel and places when I am gone. I do a ton of research in my journaling and its because I enjoy it but it is mostly because I want to continue to teach my grandchildren after I'm gone. When they see us in front of the pyramids I also want them to learn all about the pyramids from what I've written. Or Pompeii or all about the customs of the Indonesian culture and why there are cows wandering all over the streets of India. Its all explained in my scrapbooks.
