~Weekly Challenges~
Week 1: 1-3
500 points - Random Act of Kindness

I LOVE reading the backstory of gallery uploads. It's so amazing what you can learn by just browsing. I have to pinch myself when I encounter a first degree of connectivity just because of one click on an upload! I consider these to be the best form of Random Acts of Kindness!

Go to any page in the gallery and select the item that touches you the most. Go to that person's gallery or profile and find your connection. This can be the same name, same location (state, country, etc), fact (hobby, kids, work), similar lo or theme, same vacation destination, I think you get the idea. Post info about your Act on this thread.

BONUS 1000 points - Scrap it - journaling, pics, memorabilia, whatever!

PHOTOS: 100 each: Your favorite things - something that is your
favorite color (i.e. blue sky);
favorite hot beverage;
favorite scrap paper;
favorite book

Week 2: 4-10

Go to the sb.com superstore color tool ( Color tool link ). Either upload your photo, or select a main color. Then choose one of the four color schemes and do a LO in those colors. 600 points
Bonus - take a photo or screen shot of the color tool page with your chosen scheme and post it with your LO for 150 points. (If you use firefox, there is a plug-in called fireshot that does screen shots. There may be others as well.)

PHOTOS: 100 points each
the scrapbook tool you use the most often
the scrapbook tool/item you should use more often
a non-scrapbook tool that you do use for scrapping
a scrapbook tool that you use for non-scrapping purposes

Something New! This month I will get this!

Every few days, I will post a question. Each question will be worth 200 points (unless it has a bonus!) when you post your answer on the thread, but only if you answer before the next question is posted. Please include the question number when you give your answer.

1. Describe your "style" of scrapbooking, and why you would describe it that way.
2. What is your family's favorite meal to make and eat at home?
3. What new (to you) scrapping technique would would you like to master?

Good morning and Happy November!

Nov 1 Daily - part 1: set up your signature for November 100 points
part 2: We have a tradition in our family - you are not allowed to buy anything for yourself from November 1 through Christmas. So go to your wish list, clean out all the discontinued items, and add 5 or more items to it. Share those items here with us for 150 points.

And here we go with our first "something new" question: 1. Describe your "style" of scrapbooking, and tell us why you would describe it that way. 200 points
Remember, this question is only answerable (for points) until the next question is posted in a few days.

I'll be back shortly with the weekly and monthly.

Also, the point list is up. I had hoped to have to all updated, but that just didn't happen in time. Now that I am feeling human again (and my family is really happy I'm not growling like a bear any more ) I will have it for next month. Any suggestions?

Bonus Question 1 - I consider myself a Storyteller. I scrap to document our family's history and share the emotion of discovering new facts. I want to make sure my "props" fit the era and the story. I like to add a bit of humor in my journaling because we all remember the FUNNY stories. I keep my pages fairly simple to remind us to keep our feet on the ground and focus on the event, making it easier to imagine you were there too.

My random act (Part 1 of wk 1 challenge 500 points) was looking at "Aunt Sybil" because I love heritage pages, but when I got to Cindy JK gallery The Ranks caught my attention even more. I wanted to share the lo here, but she did not allow embedding. It's about Boy Scout Badges and I thought of DH and his DF and GF. His GF was one of the founders of the Boys Scouts in Colombia.

1. Describe your "style" of scrapbooking, and why you would describe it that way.

I am not quite sure what my style is I think it is just according to my mood...sometimes I like to use inks and paint for a more creative page and sometimes just very simple pages. I do like dimension on my pages so like a lot of layers and memorabilia.

Set up my siggy for +100
answered question +200

I have scrapped two pages just have to do the journaling on them and get them uploaded.

Thank you, Linda, for finishing the challenges for this week!

Do you ever just wish life had a pause button?
Now let me see if I can get caught up here.

What is my scrapping style? The only answer I have is eclectic. I like a wide variety of styles and see no reason to use only one. I guess variety is the spice of my life Lately, I have been really enjoying doing boyish pages, though.

Okay, I'm a little late!

Daily 11/4 - use a definition on a LO for 300 points, or on a card for 200 points (not both.) Can be torn from a dictionary, hand-written, a preprinted embellie, or ?

Weekly 11/4-10
Go to the sb.com superstore color tool ( Color tool link).

Ack, I forgot the monthly! You ladies have my permission to nag at me when I forgot these things!

Monthly - There are 2 parts to this monthly.
Part 1: Choose up to 6 scrapbook.com artists that inspire you. Provide a link to their gallery, and tell us why or how they inspire you. 200 points for each artist.
Part 2: Choose a LO from each artist you linked, and do a lift of that LO. Take 1000 points for the monthly, in addition to the regular point-list points, for each LO.
Bonus: Do all 6 LOs (and of course, link 6 artists) and take a 1000 point bonus!!

Total possible points 8200!!

We need a new question, and today is grocery shopping day (ugh!) so answer this for 200 points:

2. What is your family's favorite meal to make and eat at home?
(Warning - you may be asked for a recipe or two!)

Let me see - favorite meal to make at home - I have several depending on how much time I have.

My emergency meal is tuna casserole and I have never had a kid walk away without eating seconds! It started out as a quick meal while babysitting for neighborhood kids 40+ years ago. Parents would call me asking how to make it and be in shock when I gave them the ingredients for my 1 pot wonder - Kraft Mac N Cheese, butter, touch of milk, can of peas (drained) and can of tuna (drained). Yep - kids were asking for peas!

Yeah, now I get 200 points. I'm so behind in getting a lo done this week.

DISCLAIMER - EVERY GALLERY inspires me and I admire the detailed work by DT members!! OK - so for 1st monthly my 6 most inspiring galleries represent the ones I go to most because I want to tweak an upload, or pretty sure they'll have one that will get me started on my projects either because of style, subject matter, technique, or tools. There are so many that I aspire to become and gaze at their work in amazement.

Rockmom - family history http://www.scrapbook.com/myplace/index.php?mod=gallerie...
Crimson Mama - family history http://www.scrapbook.com/myplace/index.php?mod=profiles...
cndgay - WWII 5th Marine connection

Hey Julie,
It looks like you did get some great work done at your crop.

I think you forgot to save the signature update - it still shows September information.

Well thanks to the Hoarders challenges I've been able to make a mini dent in papers, but then I don't throw leftovers away so I can use them in Scrap Your Scraps challenges! Such a wonderful vicious circle!

Sorry to have been MIA. This was our last week of school for the semester, and I got quite wrapped up in it. Now we are on break until January, so let me get caught up here.

First, last month we had only one player who met her goal - Linda!!!! Please PM me with your email and I will get your GC out right away. Congrats!!!

Teresa, I am so sorry to hear tendinitis! I know how painful that can be. Hope you feel better soon.

Quay, glad to hear from you! I hope you're taking pictures of all the remodeling fun you're having.

Paula, I have been wondering how you were doing! I had to laugh at a vegan country boy, but glad you finally got an answer. I'm sure not knowing was a real burden.

Hope everyone is having a great, scrappy weekend!

Quay - so glad to "see" you!

JCI. Lots of hours at crop and 1 lo that still needs a few touches (forgot stamps and punches)! You know the drill...the best laid plans. I'm always more productive at home, but desperately needed different non-work/stress/move atmosphere. Tons of energy, but also tons of distractions. I can't believe I spent less than $1!!!

This is for several AGCs and other challenges.
The 3rd monthly inspirer is cclaw and her My Grandpa's 1928 Hupmobile. I used the papers/embossing instead of embellies - they wouldn't fit with the photos!!

Good morning!

Looks like I'm doing this weeks dailies.

Did know this is national book awareness week? And today is push button phone day. It's amazing the trivia you can find online!

So this week's weekly - use a book title or quote on your LO for 250 points, or use both for 500 points. Use them on a card for 150 points each/300 points for both quote and title. You can do either a LO or card, but not both.

weekly photos - 100 points each - something
red
yellow
green
blue
white

Daily Nov 18 - Use buttons, brads, or eyelets on a project for 250 points.

Bonus Question #3 - What technique would I like to learn? - How to get all the wonderful cuts or just embossing I thought I would get with my new Spellbinders Nestabilities Majestic labels #27.

1 in 1MM was my test cut, but I would love to know how to really use them without taking an hour to clean out the tiny scraps left in the template - can't find a video on this and frustrated that it won't cut the combination I want - anyone out there want to share their tips on pros and cons? I would love to have just the oval cut with the ribbon slits.

Easy way to get the tiny bits out is to layer
1. The die
2. A piece of wax paper
3. Your paper

Run it through the machine and those bits will fall right out. I have a large collection of spellbinders and this works!

Good to know...I recently bought me a Spellbinder's machine. I didn't know you could have that trouble. How does the wax paper make a difference?

I'm wide awake...stressing I guess. I have an appointment with a Psych Dr. She works for social security. The dirty bugger's think they need to see if I'm really unable to work. I look at it as it's David's money and I'm his wife I should get it. But hey who am I to say...after all I could be mentally disabled and they could use DH's money to have me committed. Hehehe Anyway..it's good to see y'all again.

I may have to cut out my scrap weekend's with my bff. My mom is getting really forgetful. The last weekend I put her pills in a pill reminder box and in 3 days she took all 7 days of pills. Geeeeeeez!!!

So off to the Dr's to see if some meds will help. Which means I have to be home to give them to her!

Oh BTW I have been off my pills for a month...and I want to kill everyone! hehe Good thing I can start taking them after my appointment tomorrow..er today!!

Alright...I'm going to try to go back to sleep...I'll let y'all know what happens at the Dr's office. That's if they don't commit me!! Hahahaha
