Sewing is one of my FAVORITE techniques to do on a LO! So I challenge you this month to use sewing on a page or pages. You can do it by machine or hand, but no faux stitching. That means NO digital or doodled stitching.

Twist* For an extra vote at the end of the month use a french knot with your stitching.

Rules:
1)Must be new as of today 5/1/14, and you have until 5/31/14 to enter.
2)It can be any size,paper only, 2 pager,a card, and/or a mini album.
3)Link LO to this thread and please enable public embedding.
4)If you get love please return the favor
5)LO can be used in other challenges here or on other sites.
6)1 entry per person.

To do PUBLIC EMBEDDING:
1. Go to the layout in your gallery.
2. Click on 'Edit Image' tab at the top on the left side of the layout.
3. Scroll down to the bottom left side.
4. Check the box that says, ‘Allow Public Embedding’.

To link LO'S:
1. Go to the layout in your gallery.
2. Click on the 'link/embed' words.
3. Click on 'IMG code' button.
4. Copy and paste the code which starts [url...] into the forum thread.

At the end of the month PM me with your top 3 LO's and include your own #. Then I'll do a poll where we can vote for a winner.

Welcome everyone! I know the french knot is a little more challenging, but I picked it because it was something I struggled with when I was younger. I always wanted to learn it but could never figure it out in the book. But once I saw a video online it was really easy. The link above will take you to a page with some french knots and a link to the video. I highly recommend you at least try it!

My submission. I wasn't even planning on using sewing, but I was trying to figure out what to do for a title..then I thought well it's a sewing/weaving page, I should sew a title. Then feeling overwhelmed on how I would do that, I found a font on my Silhoutte that was a stitching font! It make the holes for the stitches and I put in the thread. I really love how it turned out.

Here's another for me. My vinyl thickers werent sticky anymore, so I opted to stitch them, I definitely think I'll be trying that again.

Working on cu.

Here's mine - I machine stitched the page border and hand stitched the bee trails. I did French knots on the bee antennae for the twist.

No, I don't mind French knots. They are a little harder on paper than on fabric - mainly because I was too lazy to get up and hunt down my smaller needles, so the down stitch is a little further away from the up stitch than it should be for a tight knot.

Yeah it is harder on paper. At least I can finally share my example. I used red french knots on the bottom border here to represent tomatoes.

Yay! I've been really into stitching lately. This one is a little boring, but I hope to start doing more exciting stitching soon.
