The watercolor paper I have is pretty textured. Is it all like that? I'm afraid small detailed stamps would kind of get lost on it, if that makes sense.

It's probably be in the art section with the paints, canvasses, and such. I wish there was a HL here, everybody always talks about it and I just want to see one lol.

no not all water color paper is the same.

Smooth water color paper works the best. I have several kinds. I like the hot pressed smooth paper the best. I have found that the hot pressed paper seems to be more common in the UK. It is a little difficult to find and more expensive. Cold pressed is cheaper and available in a lot of places.

I bought some archer's and some strathmore online. I find that the hot pressed smooth paper is worth the extra money and the hassle to find it.

Lol, no it's not possible! It may be possible but there is always the wanting more, more, more.

There is a store by me that has craft supplies and a lot of cute home decorations too. It's a fun store. Ok, I just love shopping for anything that's not clothing.

Yes I make them myself. I like to sew. I make blue jean quilts. Recently I made a blue jean pillow too and a baby bonnet that I think turned out pretty nicely. If I do have to say so myself. Take a look in my gallery. I posted a pic of it.

Rosey it's actually not that heavy. But it is mostly used for a cuddle blanket and not for sleeping. Some of the baby blankets have belt loops on them so that they can be used for floor blankets with toys clipped to the belt loops.

Kayla Your quilt is wonderful. I used to quilt all the time. Baby quilts were always my favorite to make. I have not made one in about 6 years. Scrapbooking and cardmaking kinda took over.

I am working on some los this week and then hope to get back to my Halloween cards. I did order 3 more lotv stamps yesterday. Now i need to order more ez mount.

TFL Andrea. I also love making baby quilts. My sister makes large jean quilts. I have also made a twin sized and a queen sized quilt but the baby quilts are still my favorite. I have one on the go right now.

Good, glad you had a good time.

Good start, Lisa! I remember you saying that you make a lot. Christmas cards are my favorite to make.

Kayla, I just use watercolor pencils. The only other things I need is a little container of water, a paper towel, and a couple of paint brushes. I mostly use a really fine tipped one. There are different ways you can do it, but I just outline (and color a bit of the edges if the area is bigger) with the pencils, dip my brush in the water, blot it on the paper towel, then pull the color in from the outlining.

Lisa wow 10 christmas cards. Good for you. Are they all the pretty door ones?

I color my stamps with distress Inks. I would suggest watching some you tube videos on stamp coloring. There are a lot of different things you can use. I learned almost everything from you tube videos and trail and error.

I have not had a chance to work on anything the last couple days.

No I haven't made any more of the doors yet but I plan too. That one did turn out pretty festive. Usually if I run across an easy design that I like I'll make up 4 to 6 duplicates. It helps get to that 50 card goal a little faster.

It's sounds pretty interesting, I think I will check it out on you tube one of these days.

I tried making a card the other day but I was totally blank, I had to put it away...I know whenever I take the time to go back and look at it I will hate what I did.

I get the same way. It's frustrating. Plus, it always happens to me if I'm bothered by something else already, and think making something will relax me. It rarely does, just makes me grumpier lol.

I cannot make a card or scrapbook page unless I have an urge to make one. I can't just sit down and make one any old time...that's what frustrates me too. Some evenings I'm so bored all I want to do is sit down and make cards, but I don't have the inspiration.

Sometimes I'll make someone's birthday card, even if it's not for months because it really helps if I have a reason to make one but no pressure to get it done right away. Then too, if I decide I don't like it later, I have time to make a different one. If I have a recipient picked out, something will usually come to me because I like to personalize them a bit (or a lot).

I'm the same, Amy. I have a monthly crop, and I've discovered that if I try to do LOs there, I'm nearly always disappointed. I always want the things I didn't bring.

So I make cards instead. I bring along my list of birthdays and anniversaries and work on them. It doesn't take much planning.

As for inspiration, I look here in the Gallery and on Pinterest. If I find a card that just suits somebody, I copy it into a file and print it out to take with me to the crop.

I need to get better about pre making cards. I am always hurrying to get peoples cards done. I started making a list of birthdays and such.

Like rosey I get most of my ideas from looking at other cards. Pinterest in my best tool for that.

My biggest problem with making cards is I love the look of the vintage heavy embellished cards. I can not make myself make them though. I know people will eventually throw the card away and I am not putting 30 bucks worth of stuff on something that is getting thrown away.

I love searching pinterest for card inspiration. It's so easy to search by theme or if I need ideas for dies and stamps that I have I just search under their name. It's amazing how many ideas pop up.

I always have a little stash of cards on hand because I hate that last minute rush to make a card. I work better when I'm not feeling the rush.

Hey there. Hope you're having a good weekend. I just finished this one. My dad asked me to make it for his coworker's wife. She used to bake/cook them goodies but hasn't for a while. She told her husband (dad's coworker) she hasn't because she's never seen a thank you card or anything. They want some more goodies now

Gina your cards are great.

When you upload your cards to the gallery there is a box that says mark products used. When you click that it will bring up a search bar. Just add the name of your stamps and click add to list. Then when you add to gallery it will have you mark where you used the product.

Andrea, that is a lot for your dfil. I'm glad he's getting better. I'm not a stranger to surgeries and being in the hospital for periods of time, I feel for him.

So I have always had problems with those MS punch around the page punches. After giving it another go and going through 2 full pieces of paper (cutting pieces 3.25x5), I finally figured out that I think the problem is my trimmer is off by about 1/16". I guess just enough to mess it up. It finally worked! And, why can't all 12x12 paper be just that? Some are off a bit. I'm done ranting now.

Hoping to work on something today. Anyone else?

I should figure out something else to do since this is probably going to be our last summery weekend, near 80, but...

Kayla, it's such a good feeling to give something at home a little facelift. Just rearranging makes me happy, it feels fresh and new. Unfortunately, there's not much I can do to rearrange because my rooms are small and the way they are laid out.

lol amy i don't think i have ever seen a real even 12x12 piece of paper. I am glad you figured out how much your trimmer is off. Now you can just a just the cut. I have a few of those punches and have never got them to be perfect.

I bought a cricut imagine several years ago. What a waste of money. I think it is the one purchase i have regretted. Now that cricut released the explore they have released print to cut with it. As part of the release they gave out the imagine images. Any one who bought an imagine got all the imagine cartridges digitally downloaded to their craft room free. I took mine out of the box and spent a few hours updating it, aligning it and getting it to work. I figure i might as well try and use it.

Yes Amy I'm working on something, I'm trying to arrange a trip for a bunch of selfish, snobbish, ignorant wimps!

I am NOT an angel but if I ever turn into one of THEM....help me.

Happy World Cardmaking Day!! Who's making cards today?? I'm making a huge dent in my Christmas cards today. Uploaded four to my gallery so far. I've taken advantage of a few online sales and challenges. It has been a wonderful Saturday!

Glad you're got your groove back, scalvert.

Great cards everyone.

I've decided I'm not in the mood now, maybe later tonight.
