For Everyone........just a look at the beaches in Pensacola and a great little topographical map of the way it's set and the waters around it......has several beaches....and is very similar to the beaches around St. Pete/Tampa where there is just a thin strip of land that runs parallel to the coast which gives you two sides of water etc.

If you are familiar with the beaches at Tampa/St. Pete it is similar in that the strip of beach runs for miles with Hotels, homes and condos with bay on one side and Gulf on the other.......this is similar in that there are two great beaches there......as you can see.

https://www.visitpensacola.com/things-to-do/beaches/ nat...

It's truly a beautiful place and the sunsets are very interesting........different than from here as the Gulf is due west of me but Pensacola is actually north of the Gulf of Mexico. LOL Yes I know....I am a georgraphy nut. But those are the little details that I find interesting......One beach is just NOT like another. LOL Expecially here around the Gulf Of Mexico.

Di, I am so sorry to hear about your son, Dustin. Infections are scary. Definitely will add him to my prayers. ❤️🙏

Thanks for the prayers. He got out of surgery about midnight. Doc talked to Anne and said things could of been worse. Thankfully the infection had not infiltrated tendons. Dustin will be there at least until Friday and doc said he'll be wearing a machine that administers antibiotic constantly for 3-4 weeks. I don't know anything about that...

We're going to call this morning and go see him after lunch. Hospital is only 12 miles from us. He may be 42 but my heart raced for my "baby" last night... I know you understand.

Well this is good news...and I am glad that you will be able to see him today.......I understand needing to see and touch your "child" no matter how old they are.

I remember all too well when Karen was flown to Bay Front Medical Center by Med Flight...with a broken neck etc.....and how horrible and scary that was. I was not right until I could see and touch her and even though it was a horrible time, I was better after seeing her......!!!!

There is nothing worse I think, than watching your child suffer and there is nothing you can do. Praying is the only option.!!!!!!

Di- thanks for the update. I was just going to ask how long surgery would be. The kids are always our babies no matter how old they are. It's nice you are so close to the hospital and can get over there easily.

Donna- I've been wondering too, what the Doctor advised.

Betsey- Thanks for that link. I sent for a visitor's guide. You do know so much about geography of the land. You should be on Sirius radio. The announcer always knows where people live when they call in, what landmarks and highways are around the area they are calling from.

I'd better go. When I get back I will be beautiful .............

Morning!!

Beautiful and sunny, a balmy 63* already!!! And get this, suppose to go down to 19* tonight!! Connecticut River is in flood stage and rising... Got a phone call from our Trail Admin. saying the river is over flowing and water is up to the bottom of his bridge... That bridge is 15' in the air! Not good!!

Saw much flooding in MI where Rene is.. She's OK but really can't drive anywhere as lower elevations are flooded! Crazy weather!!!

Di, prayers being sent for Dustin. An infection is nothing to sneeze at. Glad they got in there and cleaned... My oh my with the antibiotics, but sounds good the doctors are being aggressive!

I sure wish I knew what I know now about scrap organization when I set my room up 12 years ago. I keep asking myself if I could muster the mental energy to strip it and start over. My brain is ignoring me.

1) I hate carpet in there
2) I would like continuous counter, not 3 separate tables
3) Closet needs organization
4) I need to truly embrace the kit form of storage

I'm thinking on how to do it in stages.........

TRish, any advice from you given you made a new room a year ago?

I thought my hair cut was at 10:00. Looked at the calendar--1:30.
I'm going to Michelle's (SU demonstrator) to make cards tonight.
I don't wanna go out tonight, but I signed up so guess I'd better go.

I'd love to take out the bed in my scraproom and put counter across the space. But then I think..............more counter, bigger mess and I use the bed as a counter so I guess I'm not changing nothin'. LOL

Betsey, I enjoy googling Pensacola and what is in the area. Looks like such a beautiful area.

I am so glad that Dustin is doing better Di. I did not realize their was such a thing as an antibiotic one could wear!
My husband is always telling me not to worry so much!I will always worry about my children no matter what their age. I think that is the way mother's are!

I hope he continues to do well and I will keep saying prayers for him.

I am worried about Donna. Wasn't her appointment yesterday?

Cathe, I need to set up an appointment with someone else to cut my hair. Heidi did not cut it short enough last time. In fact she just does not seem to do a good job cutting my hair.

Vi's granddaughter, Macy, used to do such a good job but she doesn't do it any more.

Just getting around to getting up.
Coffee.
Will be a slow morning.

Di, so sorry about your DSs infection.
And yes, they are always our babies.
Glad it wasn’t as bad as it could have been.
I hope he heels quickly.
Will this set back have an impact on his new job?
I hope not.

Di, I really don’t think I am one to ask about scraproom organizing- I am yet to make happy with my new set up.
Even before having to move the bed in there I was still a bit unsettled- I kept chalking it up to being a new space.
Funny because I was just thinking yesterday how at the old house I would scrap forever and hate to be pulled away- seemed I always had a good flow going then would need to stop to go to work.
Well now I do t have to do that yet I never seem to want to scrap.
What is up with that??
Once DS moves out I plan on redoing some of the room, slightly.
I do know for me I work best when I have an “L” shape workspace.
Unfortunately here my “L” is in the wrong place so I can’t utilize that function.
I love having the long counters but really don’t use the one half to actually scrap - it’s more to just hold stuff!
Because I’m a sitting scrapper- it’d be different if I were more mobile.

But like you said- it really needs to all come out and start over fresh.
It is so much work tho.

I had a dream last night that I had hives again.
Yikes.

Ummmmmmmm, forgot what I was going to say.

Oh, I had a WeR memory envelope punch board I dropped at a crop onto concrete floor. It popped apart and we couldn't get it back together. I wrote the company asking them how to do it, told them it was my fault. They said I wouldn't be able to and they would send me a free one. It came yesterday.. That's fabulous customer service. I use ugly pepper for envelopes, putting ugly side in, white side out.

Di, that is great service.
Don’t hear too much of that from companies anymore.
I like their products.
I’ve been looking at their new ruler type things for matting photos.
I’m interested but not sure how I’d do.
I’m so used to my cutters I’d probably find the ruler system a bit more time consuming, maybe?

are you talking about their laser square/cutter?

I have the xacto cutter and use it for cutting mats all the time. I just glue picture(s) on cs and use the cutter for trimming paper close to picture..

I don't precut my mats unless at crop with no xacto trimmer (like what I'll be in Pensacola)..

I can't believer the morning is almost gone!! I was up early too!!

I like the way my room is set up now.
I have one long counter - 8 feet that is bar width/3 feet deep.
My computer sits on one end next to cutting machines with work space in the center portion and "stuff" that piles up at the other end. I have a desk chair that is just slide back and forth along the counter to work, sometimes I stand.

I only store the photos I am currently working with in kit form, 20-40 at a time. When I get those done I will start more kits. From the looks of my holder I am behind on scrapping!!! And still feel like I have gotten enough done this month.

Di - sounds like there are company's with great customer service still!!

Di, they are called- Perfect paper crafting layers.
They used to go by a different name and I believe WRMK bought the rights.
They are just basically rulers with a lip to give the exact size of matting.
You use them with an exact type knife.

I too glue on my photos before cutting mats...... most of the time.
I do well with some of my quilting supplies for cutting the edges.
I have been looking at a different system for when I cut my 12x12 papers down.....the edges may be straight but on occasion I did not mean to have such a large bg boarder showing - I just had to re cut to get it straight!!! It all comes out and I have gotten pretty good at hiding my errors!!

DH left at 11 while I was sleeping to go to the doctor and has not returned. He left his phone here so I can’t call him. I hope he is ok. It is 2:30. Maybe he decided to go to Lowe’s or something and thinks I am sleeping and not worrying.

Tish- I'd like Rum to get a phone. He used to be totally against having one, but he is starting to come around. He doesn't want the added expense...........or me calling him to ask him to pick up milk. LOL

My hair---I like the cut and especially the back but she poofs it up too much. I need to tell her. I've have told her it doesn't sink in.
I got my driver's license renewed. Here you no longer wear your glasses for your photo ID. I lied, when asked questions and they came to weight and she read 125, I said yes. Is that a federal offense??

Thanks and thanks to all of you. We just got back from seeing him. The infectious disease doctor saw him this a.m. and told him they are still testing his samples and when know what type it is then they will make his antibiotics up. He will be going home with a picc port in his chest and will have to get meds thru it for about 6-8 weeks.

He's not a happy camper but attitude is: "well that's life sometimes." His new employer is very polite and understanding. His new boss has called him yesterday and today. Nice.

Tish; books for your Ipad...

do you pay for the Kindle monthly thing?? or do you buy them as you get them?

I was thinking of doing the Kindle thing but not sure I'll read enough books in a month to make it pay.

I'm still trying to figure out how to get books from my library.. free or not. I just can't figure it out.

Just found out my Uncle Bob died. He was 78. I have 1 Aunt and 1 Uncle left on my mom's side. There were 12 of them . Several of my relatives called. I had to call my sisters and tell them. I am always the bearer of bad news it seems.

12 siblings,,, wow!

Di, I'm shocked Dustin has to wear a port for his antibiotics. Happy to hear his boss is so understanding and checked in on him.

Lancaster has a major ice jam... pics on my fb page, ice chunks up the side of the main bridge going into town... crazy. Conn. River in N. Stratford is flooding also because of an ice jam. Might be a long night for some!

I took pics of the small river across the street, only because tomorrow it may look very different. Temps have dropped from 63 to 37, everything is icy... our road through the campground, making it hard to walk!

Seems you always have your plate full of things to deal with.

Anyone watch “The Ranch” on Netflix?
DS had told me about it awhile back but I never tried it.
Then surfing around I realized Debra Winger is in it so I wanted to check it out.
It’s pretty funny.
I’m 6 episodes in.

Di...I remember when Roy was getting g antibiotics through a picc line. I had to clean it and care for it for weeks! Home health doesn’t service our area, imagine that!! LOL

I sure wish I knew what I know now about scrap organization when I set my room up 12 years ago. I keep asking myself if I could muster the mental energy to strip it and start over. My brain is ignoring me.

1) I hate carpet in thereMe too I hate having carpet in this room and ask myself often "what was I thinking"".
2) I would like continuous counter, not 3 separate tablesDitto and would like them counter height as in my kitchen.....!!!!!
3) Closet needs organization Be grateful you have a closet....I have NONE
4) I need to truly embrace the kit form of storageDon't know what that means????

I'm thinking on how to do it in stages.........

TRish, any advice from you given you made a new room a year ago?

I do know that I am sick of the messy look of all these open baskets and storage bins. This room always looks messy and toooooo busy. I do love the light that I have...God knows with six windows and a french door I do have light...but I have no wall space for shelves etc. I have cobbled together all these small pcs of furniture, painted white but still too many things. ROFL But at this point in my life it's probably the best it's going to be. I have more pressing needs to fix before this. LOL

It serves the purpose but of course like everyone, my dream is a craft room that is truly organized and wonderful. I am a stand up scrapper so I need counters like my kitchen high enough to work at while standing. I walk around a lot while creating...getting scraps from one place, and all kinds of things, trying different papers...etc. but the time I get a page all laid out and am ready to glue I carry it to the kitchen and glue there since it's easier on my back.

I have thought about getting those bed lift thingies for my table in the scrap room.....I even entertained the thought at one time of just putting new legs on this table.....I like that table and the size of it...just not the height. ROFL

My doctor gave me medicine.
My colonoscopy is next Tues.

I was really ill yesterday. Doing better today.

Love to you all. xoxo

And I do hope you are better by today. I am so sorry you are having to deal with all of these health issues. It makes for very hard days and nights sometimes. I hope everything can get straightened out before long.

BTW was glad to hear that you went to some meetings in LA at Michelles. I would assume they are all big meetings...and of course with people you don't know so you probably really enjoyed hearing the different things.....I found I listen more now that I don't know anyone...........I used to tune some out I think....not consciously but when you know what someone is going to say before they say it...it's easy to do. ROFL I am sure you know what I mean....LOL Glad you enjoyed the meetings there.

The announcer always knows where people live when they call in, what landmarks and highways are around the area they are calling fro
m.

I'd better go. When I get back I will be beautiful .............

I guess i always have been interested in geography and I do remember itr being one of my best most interesting topics in school....do they even teach that anymore???

BUT...driving a truck in the entire lower 48 with my husband for that few years...and then driving myself around the entire east coast for years by myself. I am pretty well versed on what is what and where things are etc. OUR country is the most interesting and diverse, beautiful country on earth. Its sad to me that people see so little of it these days. When you fly from home to your destination you miss all of the good stuff in between. TO ME there is nothing better or more interesting that a road trip........but that's me. I loved even as a kid traveling by car to Illinois, Indiana, Florida etc. I think I started loving geography because of that....we drove everywhere until our first flight to Florida when Susan was about two so that would have been 1951 or so. By then I was 12 years old so old enough to remember everything....I saw.....!!!

The shapes of the states are interesting to me and there is/was a program on the History channel I think, about the states and how they got their shape. And it always talked about the oddities of some of our states...like in Michigan, from Detroit you go south to get to Canada. ROFL

Anyway...there are lots and lots of things to learn and I just happen to find that interesting. Did any one know that there is/was a salt mine under the entire city of Detroit??? There is also one, over the bridge to Houma LA when you get on to Avery Island, LA where the McIlhenny plantation is.....(Original Tabasco Sauce) it's under that plantation. We picked up a load of bags of salt there once. Fascinating.!!!! But seriously that is HOW I really know so much about our country. When you drive an 18 wheeler and pick up loads of freight to haul from one place to another and it's not just one thing....you get to learn and see things most people never even know about. Driving an 18 wheeler was right up my alley. I loved going everywhere and seeing everything.....yes much of the time you were on interstates but there was just as much time that you were not and got to see all parts of this wonderful country. It was a geography education like none other.

Home.
I haven't scrapped in 4 days.
That's very unusual for me.

I always lie about my weight on my DL.
Looks like we'd all be in prison!!

Together, scrapping?

tools wouldn't be allowed though.

Di- you are so funny!!!
and all the rest of you who chimed in to about the weight issue.
The funny thing was that as she asked me to confirm my weight at 125 she kinds of nodded her head like it was ok to put that. LOL

Di, they are called- Perfect paper crafting layers.
They used to go by a different name and I believe WRMK bought the rights.
They are just basically rulers with a lip to give the exact size of matting.
You use them with an exact type knife.

Aha......I wondered how you got yours so perfect. I spend a great deal of time when cutting mats and most times they are not really straight. My edge trimmer is not exactly straight I have decided.....something must be off kilter. I have never ever been happy with any edge trimmer I ever had.......I still say the slicing ones are better than the other kind. When I used the paper cutter at school and when I use my CM little photo cutter my edges are always straight and I think it's the cutter design itself.

My weight has not been changed on my drivers license for years! I am at least 30 pounds heavier than it says. I will go to prison with you!

Here we have to prove our DL info every 10 years. Remember a few years ago it was that time...I had to take all my marriage licences and divorce/death cert to the DL place to prove every single name change???? That was when Karen and I were talking about making sure I had all those things in one folder.....and Matt quietly said....."heck Meme you will need one of those rolling file bags..." OMG we laughed until we cried and still laugh when that comes up in one of our "family lore" stories....that kid is so ******** funny. Always has been since he could talk. I swear that some kids are just born with a great sense of humor and he was one. Fortunately his dd Mackenzie has the same trait. She cracks them up and everyone else a lot of the time. They are a fun little family!!! If we don't have a doctors thing with height and weight we have to be measured at the D/L place. YET they have NEVER ever given me an eye test like they do so many older people.

the whole drivers license thing is crazy. It's different in every state.....yet they are good in every state no matter where you got it, its legal to drive in other states. ROFL

Why is there not just some uniform D.L testing and why is it not the same for everyone. Wouldn't that sort of cut down on paper work and the need for all of that information ???? When you have a job that takes you from place to place like my friend Shirley and her Hubby...he was not in the service but did work for several different companies that transferred him all over this country......Texas to Maryland to South Dakota and back again.....for years and years. They had to get new Drivers licenses every time they moved. LOL

Good morning!

We have the NCR retiree breakfast. It could be just us 3 couples that go to the Legion for fish.

Char- so sorry to hear about your uncle. My dad was one of 12. I have 3 aunts left, --one is in WA. one in CA one in IL.
Glad to hear you didn't have trouble getting the MRI accomplished. I wonder why they have to make so much noise.

Di- Did they not start Dustin on any antibiotic yet?
Sure glad his new employer is concerned and understanding.

Donna- Hope you are feeling better today.

Cheryl- hope your cold isn't any worse today.

Trish- I don't get Netflix. Their programs appeal to me though.

Betsey- I've seen that program about how the state lines were decided. I guess we really should be in Wisconsin.

JoJo- the rivers are jammed up here too. The park down the road is flooded, but it frequently floods.

I'd better go get dressed. bbl
Have a nice day.

Char...so sorry to hear about another death in your family. It's such a huge family that I guess you must have health issues and all kinds of things going on all of the time. I am so sorry about your Uncle. He wasn't very old....only 78. !!!!!

I hate it when people my age are the ones who have passed. Reminds me of where I really am in this life! Most of the time I feel like I will be here forever.....!!!!! Lilly told me that when she graduates from High School she wants a book like Sarah's and Hannah's too. I said of course but what are the odds that I will still be here??? And if I am that I won't be tied into a chair and drooling in a cup somewhere. ROFL.....OMG little kids think we live forever. !!!!
I don't mean to make a joke when you have just lost a family member........I know that these losses are difficult and you sure have had your share.....I am really sorry, and hope you understand my humor....

BTW when Lilly graduates from HS I will be 91 so the odds are that I am probably more right than not!!!!!

do they make a lot of noise???? I don't remember that. I am too busy having a nervous breakdown. The last time I had one.......was the LAST time I will ever have one. I remember the time I had one in when I lived in JAX and before my night seizures were diagnosed.......I was at the hospital for an MRI. They had to pull me out, put me in a chair, and told my hubby to wheel me outside and give me a cigarette. ROFL I was a basket case. Tooooo claustrophoic .....I can't deal with that thing right above my face and I can't sit up...OMG just typing that gives me shivers.........it's part of the issue I have on an airplane these days. If I am at the window seat in the three row and now the seats are so close that I feel totally closed in cant' stand can't move and that seat in front of me is right at my nose.....( that's what it feels like to me.) I need an aisle seat or at least the middle one. whew. I used to love the window seat.......no more. I have shivers just writing about it. ROFL

Char, sorry to hear of your loss... There are not many families that have that many siblings in them anymore. Here I though my hubbies being 1of 8 was a lot!!

Jojo- I have been seeing the weather predictions the last few days and them talking about it getting warm so fast then more rain/snow on the way then warm again!!! That does not bode well for people that live by the water.

Sounds like you have a busy day Cathe, enjoy your food! What do they have for breakfast...... I'm assuming the fish is for dinner tonight!!

I am headed off the Crestview for lunch with a lady that I use to work with. We have tons to catch up on as it has been two years since I have seen her. She now lives in Niceville, we meet in Crestview as there USE TO BE a scrapbook store that I would stop at every time we got together for lunch. Now it has just become tradition.... and there is really nothing halfway between the two of us.
I will be gone half the day..... with no scrapbook store to stop at.

Betsey; you mentioned the 'bed risers' for your table.. that's a good idea.

The crop I went to three weeks ago had a lady attending (she was there last summer also) who scraps standing up.. she's tall also. Anyhow she brings some of the lifters and raises her work table up.. she has a tall stool she'll lean on when a little tired.. etc. She's young though; probably 40, stands almost all day.. oh she does bring one of those squissy type matts to stand on also..

Her lifters were 6-8" tall approx.

yes he is on something. Tomorrow they'll know what he had/has and will make up an antibiotic, put it on his culture and see how it reacts.. by tomorrow afternoon they'll know what to make to give him.

Cheryl; I'm amazed you can scrap after your grands go home.. Dori goes home and I fall in my recliner and nap..

Betsey; I have to take a mild tranquilizer to do mri's.. they don't want me to fall asleep, hence "mild"... it helps. And they are noisy as some stated. My son is witty like Matthew... hilarious sometimes. If he had been here this a.m. when I was outside taking photos of the snow he'd say: "Mom, stay inside and just use last years photos."

We had only 1" o f snow last night but it's sure pretty out... wet snow so it's stuck to everything... frozen now. I love it when the snow is hanging onto the bare branches of our deciduous trees. I took pictures.

We have a show set up tomorrow.. hope this snow goes away. Today we have to get our glass from our storage unit.. it's going to be a cold job... where are my sweat pants and long johns.
