Well, that is sad that Brook didn't have a good time at Prom.I think back to when our kids were in high school and can remember the picture taking and how some of us would go up to school to peek in the Gym to see the decorations.

Cathe, Nev looked gorgeous! I love her dress and those fancy shoes!

Grans,
Would have been home sooner, but there's a huge problem with my blood pressure. It's really high.
Also wasn't getting enough liquid diet down until yesterday.

Sharon, I don’t even know what a whippoorwill is!.
I’ve heard it mentioned in a song, maybe Randy Travis?
I know it’s a bird or at least that’s what I’ve always thought it was- but wouldn’t have a clue what they look like.

I have a page started, that’s all !
Who knows when I’ll get around to finishing it.

It has been on my mind all afternoon! The Whippoorwill song! I think it might have been Hank Williams that sang the song, also Elvis Presley.I'm so Lonesome I Could Cry is the name of the song. Probably others have sang it too.
Strange how something sticks in the mind. I had to look it up on Google.

Tish, liquid diet.
For a few days. Slowly introducing very bland food.

I've been cleared to go home tomorrow!!!!!

For the first days, I ate only ice chips.

Miss the babies terribly, and Kerry too! Of course. Lol.

Donna, good to see you in here. Praying things get better with each day. My Grandmother always said, the difference 24 hours can make, can be huge!
Tomorrow to go home, Yippee!!

Cheryl. sending prayers for Karyol. Saw your latest post on FB. Hope they can get his sugar under control!

I'm keeping to myself today... not in the best of moods, stomped on those I live with... it was due.

Probably will go to bed early... I'm not good company. Parents coming tomorrow.

JoJo- I see you passed on Cheryl's FB posting.

I'll add: Cheryl took Karyol to the ER. He had a fever, chest pain and his blood sugar was off.

Donna- Hope everything goes as planned and you can go home tomorrow.--and the blood pressure is under control.

Tish- I wonder how long Nev had on those shoes. While taking pictures she said they were already pinching her toes. Her neighbor was wearing tennis shoes under her dress.

Family dinner was so much fun. When Rayn, Kian and Oakley came in they were more than happy to share their Universal stories. (except Kian, he hardly said a word and let his siblings do all the talking)

Casey was talking about a personality test called Enneagram--I think its a personality test. I guess they are giving it in High Schools and using in in Businesses. We had a lot of laughs over the synopsis given of the 9 types trying to guess what we fell under. I guess you can take the test for $12.

I made it through the day without a nap. I hope I sleep tonight. I should since I apologized to Rose for not letting her know about going out to see Nev. She wasn't upset about it.

Catch you all in the morning.

JCI after a long day of yard work.
Done!
I have one very small thing left to do then I think I’m done for the summer.
After that, Mel, the new neighbor across from me (deb) and I went over to the other neighbors house to visit and have a margarita.
I am now soaking in the tub.

Cheryl, so sorry there was a need to take your dh in.
I was hoping he’d get better.
Sorry you have more on your plate.
But I see you did get some scrapping in!

Donna, nice to see you here!
You’re on such a light pain regiment- I hope it’s doing the trick for you.
Is Kerry still off work- will she be there to help you when you get home?

Sharon, sorry to hear Brooke didn’t seem to enjoy prom.
That is really early to be home on prom night.

Cathe, your dgd is stunning!
Wow, beautiful outfit too.
I bet it was fun listening to their vacation stories!

JoJo, oops on the day.
Sometimes it just happens.
Hope you’re in better spirits for you parents visit tomorrow.

Tish, I think I know the Hank Williams song too.
I can hear the randy Travis one in my head but can’t put a name on it. I have several of his songs on my phone, I may need to listen and see if I can find it.

Nice to hear that spring is finding it’s way to other parts of the country!
It was gorgeous here today!
Woke to snow still scattered around and by the time we went out to work it was 62 sunny and no wind.
Tuesday it is supposed to snow???
Can’t believe how tan my forearms and face are already!!

Good morning!

Cheryl- I sure hope you got to sleep! Praying Karyol feels better soon.

Trish- It's so nice you moved into a place where you made new friends.

Char- Do you use the program ACDSEE to edit photos?

Sharon- Sorry Brooke didn't have a great time at prom.
I found out Nev's date is a Freshman. He is cute. I think I've mentioned that the pool of guys is slim-pickings when you only have 100 in your class. Charity briefly talked to Nev yesterday and Nev complained how he kept following her around. Charity told her "Well, he was your DATE!"
I would have thought she learned her lesson about dates after taking someone from another school. ---it doesn't work really well.

I gotta go iron Rum's pants. They are the ones I bought him for his trip. They must be a nice weight as he want to wear them today. It's too cool for shorts and too warm for jeans. I say they need to make capris for men! LOL

Oh funny, Cathe, about Nev's Prom date following her around! I think it is cute she went with a Freshman. Our oldest son, Dennis was a Freshman when he went to Prom with an "older woman"! Kelly was a Junior I think.

Well my day is shot. I have a eye appointment in Ellsworth at 1:30 pm. It takes over an hour to get there and an hour to get home. I don't know why I let them book me in the middle of the day. My fault.

I have to hope in the shower and get ready and if any time left I may scrap!

Going home today!
Waiting for the doctor.

Tish, that's a long day.

Sharon, why didn't Brooke have fun? So sorry to hear that.

Trish, the pain meds are more of a headache than they're worth. I have 2 laparoscopic incisions and another small incision. No pain in two days.

Donna, happy for you that you get to go home!!

Tish, good luck on the eye appt.
Is it just routine or are you having that pressure thing again?

Cathe, they do make capris for men.
They’ve been around for years.
None of the men I know where them but I know they make them!
Maybe Betsey has seen it where she lives- where it’s year round a warmer climate?

Cheryl, is dh still at the hospital?

On the agenda today ,
I put a load of laundry in- all the clothes I’ve been wearing while working outside.
DH and I will go to lunch, I think.
I asked DD if she wanted to meet up with us- nope, she is meeting up with someone else. Whatever!
And maybe, maybe, I’ll go out and do the small yard project. It’ll take probably less than half an hour.

Cathe, yes, I feel lucky to have met these ladies!
Especially Mel.

WOW on the incisions!! I was picturing cutting open like you see on TV. Sheesh, glad it was not like TV!!!

Brooke went to the prom for the first time with no date. She and another girlfriend went. She had planed on going with her boyfriend of 3 years but they broke up again a short time ago. She had gone to all proms before this with him....... I think she was a little bummed!! I will give her credit for going at all!! He does not go to her school in fact he had already graduated.

Glad you are homeward bound!!!

Donna, I am so glad you aren't having pain now! It is fascinating how operations are done today. Hubby had small incisions when the spleen was removed and hernia fixed. He threw is pain prescription away.

I am glad you are good enough to go home to Kerry and the kitty cats!

Donna, just routine. I like him but tired of going to him. My regular eye doctor is in Waterville. They sent me to this specialist in Ellsworth when I had uveitis and my pressures were so high. He keeps a check on me and I like him, but it is such a ride when I could be doing something else!

My pressures in both eyes have been good my last few doctor's appointments. I hate going to the eye doctor and I hate going to the dentist! LOL

All I can think of is jodphurs when you talk about capris for men. Not sure what I am thinking of though. Probably horse riding pants.

I had capri's on the other day and Allen called them jodhpurs!

Well I have had my shower and blown dry my hair and I am ready to go! Still have awhile though before we leave.

Glad to hear the tylenol IV is working for you. My best ideas for everyone who is recovering from surgery is to take the least strength that works for you. The truth is that recovering from surgery is painful.....so we need to experience some tolerable pain even when taking the pain meds...take whatever is working and the least strength. Even Rachael who was also sent home with a bottle of 150 Oxy's from her surgery gave them to her Mom to keep for the first week. She never took one! Has been doing well with over the counter pain meds since the second day. took one or two of something else the first day and since then is taking nothing. Granted her surger sure was not abdomical surgery for sure...but still sugery and quite painful according to Amanda.

Glad you are being careful with the pain meds. Karen already took the Oxy to the Sheriffs office rx dump site. It's like a big old fashioned mail box and they have someone on duty to make sure it gets ground up immediately.......I don't know what it all turns into....but now I am curious . What do they do with the ground up meds.???? I wonder!!! ROFL

Here is what the disposal sites look like. I am still trying to find out what happens to the stuff put in them!!!!

You are right....those are Horse riding pants at least that;;s what they used to be called....ROFL Where in the world did he come up with that word for capris???? I had trouble when they first became popular again as we called them toredor pants in the 50's but they did have lacing on the sides of the cuff/calf. Anyone else remember toredor pants????

Actually its for any meds, including animal meds anything outdated or that you don't want are supposed to be taken to one of the dump sites. There is a huge thing going on here as we have such a terrible Oxy/pain med epidemic. So any meds are to be disposed of in this way instead of flushing them down the toilet, which means eventually they end up in the drinking water.......!!!! And in the trash they end up at the landfill and can easily be picked by the dump pickers!!!! You would be shocked if you saw how many people are out there with all of the sea gulls picking the piles before they get bulldozed into the ground. Who ever thought a Landfill was a "good idea" obviously did not see the big long term picture of that. Lots of unintended consequences for sure!!!!

Funny how things go in life!!!!! Most of you are complaining about having to cook dinner and figure out meals etc. and are wishing someone else would cook or you could just order in !!!!

And here I am so glad to have Carol here..because I get to fix actual meals of some sort...well Dinner at least. But it's not a big deal.....we had Broccoli Cheddar soup one night......with Corn bread. I made biscuits and sausage gravy one night and french Toast with Sausage another night. We have also had Grilled cheese sandwiches with Tomato soup., and Meat Loaf with mashed Pot and green beans too. I am truly liking this.

Yesterday I went to Tommie Lous for A Chili dinner with her entire family. There were about 15 of us and we thought Briana, mack and Matt were going to be there, but they were exhausted from Moving Amanda the day before. I got to hold the new baby....Gabriella, She is Niikis' baby, who is Briana's sister. Her Aunt was there with her three kids so that was fun.

Tommie Lou made wonderful Chili, we had Hotdogs grilled, or salad or cole slaw, four different fruit places, totilla chips and a beautiful plate of big huge strawberries with a wonderful whipped dip of some kind. It was wonderful.

Frank who is Tommie first husband and Briana's Grandpa and his wife Barbara invited me to their house on the 12th for Enchiladas!!!! To me there is nothing better than Mexican food made by Mexican people...from old time passed down recipes. Kelly, who is Briana's mom says her Dad makes the best there are. So I will get to find out for myself. LOL. I am truly enjoying becoming a part of this family. They all cook and have big buffet type casual dinners...and it's just lots of fun. They all know and love Amanda as she and Briana have been friends for 20 years now...and of course Matt is also one of that family now......so I fit there someplace. Lilly of course, thinks that the kids are all her cousins....not just Mackenzie.....it's pretty funny really.

The new baby is just precious and already turning over and wanting to sit up. She is about 6 weeks old...holds her head up like a 4 month old. She is something.

Yes I have really been lucky. Tommie Lou and I are Mackenzie's Great Grandmother together and while we sort of knew each other from meeting at things that Amanda and Briana were involved with.......we really didn't get to know each other until Briana's shower.......She and I sat next to each other and had a total blast. She is one who is up for almost anything.......as am I and we are quite a like in enough ways to make a nice friendship. So now that Briana and Amanda are very close friends, and she is with Matthew and they have Mackenzie we have quite a connection. Briana's Mom also works for PLACE as a site manager....so they have that connection also. sometimes it's still a very small town. LOL

I also Love real Mexican food Trish...so this is truly a match made in Heaven !!!! LOL

Capris for men... ugly in my opinion. My hubby wears long shorts. He likes them roomy.

Donna, how nice you only have small incisions. and no pain.. wonderful. Now to get the diet improving and things flowing thru ok... takes time I hear.

There is not a muscle in my body that doesn't ache from yesterdays marathon bedroom cleaning... I did my closet to and have a huge bag of stuff to go to a thrift store.

I need to catch up reading two days of posts so will be back later..

Good morning!

We are sunny and it is nice outside. Supposed to be 68 by 4 this afternoon. That is the height of our warm temps. Then increase everyday to 80 by Thursday!! Of course rain will come back by Saturday. I will take it.

Saturday I went and met my Nephew and gave him $25 so he could rent a room at a local hotel for the night. Took him to work too. He is struggling. He can't rent an apartment because he has no good credit. He is a felon to boot. He has been clean for almost 5 years now.

The rents around here are ridiculous. A local apartment complex just gave notices to all the tenants that they have to move by the end of the month. A new Co. bought it and they are going to remodel. This particular place is home to many low income, handicapped people. Veterans and such. There have been several stories in the paper and on tv about it. Some have lived there for over 15 years. Now the Co. is offering $900 in moving help for them. People are outraged. There is nowhere to move too for what they can afford. Section 8 housing has a 2 year wait list! My nephew is in that list.

My nephew has a 2 year old son he is also raising alone. He works full time and can afford $1000 a month rent but can't qualify because of bad credit and being a felon. I feel so badly for him.

My sister Patty came and spent the night Saturday night. My nephew I am talking about is her son. I didn't say anything to her about him because they are not speaking. Not going to get into that with her. Our sister Lori came over and we chatted about our family in Wyoming and their health. She is also having some health issues. She is wearing a heart monitor for a month. She's been having chest pains.

I am going to make potato salad for thursday. I have decided it will be our welcome sunshine meal day.

Why yes I do remember the different pant lengths over the years. Now Jodpurs are to me only for horse riding.

I like capris and pedal pusher lengths. I am short so they are fine lengths for me. You can't find pedal pushers much anymore.

Sounds like your incisions are smaller than my brother's. Nice to be pain free!

Char- I don't think Charity tells Doug what she pays for Nev's dresses. I know I'd probably die if I heard the price.
what color is Caitlin's dress?
I feel so sorry for your nephew. He's trying to do the right thing and society isn't helping any.

Di- I too was getting clothes together to donate. My off season clothes are in a dresser in the basement and the closet in the computer room. So I spent all morning and 2 hrs. this afternoon washing clothes and switiching around the winter and summer items. I had to sit down. My feet hurt.

TRish- I did like those tan pants with cuffs. I think they'd look cute on younger guys............not Rum. LOL

Betsey- I understand not cooking for one. When Rum was gone I struggled. It's so wonderful that you and Tomi are friends and you are now an honorary member.

Tish- that's a long way to go to the eye doc. Yet Jo wouldn't think so. Hope everything was ok.

Sharon-Oh Poor D ick!! He can't catch a bread.
I can see why Brooke didn't have fun since she was used to having a boyfriend to go with. Do you know who broke up with whom?

I need to order Stampin Up catalogs for my few customers. p.m. me by tomorrow noon CST, if you want one. (Cheryl you are on my list already)

Every so often Rockford Clean a Beautiful collects meds. When Granny passed away, Hospice came and put pills in kitty litter.

I should go outside and rake debris from the front of the bed under the window. I hate yard-work. --mainly because there is no where to put it.

Oakley was so excited to get Nev's graduation party invite. It is a post-card type announcements with her photo on it. When he found out they'd be going, he said, "Nev can play with me". Casey explained that she will be really busy that day.
cute Oakley story: Casey was telling us that Oakley was more or less was telling her he was going to marry Nev. She explained to him that cousin's couldn't get married. He just said, "OH". I would have let him have his dream. He'd outgrow it.

Someone asked awhile back when Nev's graduation is. It is May 24th

Saturday both Van and Rayn are going to be at the same track meet down in DeKalb. Oh I hope it is nice. It's bee so rainy and cold that the kids have had so few meets.

Cathe, Brookes boyfriend broke up with her. I don't know the whole story and I'm not going to ask but from previous years it has been said that "his" parents did not want him going out with Brooke... don't have the full insight and don't care to. Impression that I got was that his parents are well to do, Brooke is not from well to do family..... all the rest is speculation to do with Brookes mom. That could be because I don't like being around her (Brookes mom) much myself and I put all my prejudices on her.
Anywho, Brooke is too young to have a steady anyway!!! Especially one that you have to hide the relationship from anyone's parents.

Proms and graduations.... prom is over for the year and we have no one graduating this year.

I too was working on rearranging my clothes and drawers. I also need to get the medications all in one spot where just I have access to it. If dDick is becoming allergic to stuff I need to know what "stuff" he is using!!!
I feel bad as I bought a bottle of his aftershave at the dollar general store and I am beginning to wonder if they have knockoff brands???!! Or is he just becoming allergic to things he has used for years?

I didn't get tired of organizing in my room I just got sidetracked and did not get back at it!!!!
I better go work a little more before I play with the new supplies that came in the mail today!!! SB.com is fast!!!
