Cathe - Tech support says the forums are still messed up and they are working on it. I suggest we don’t worry about doing anything with the thread until the problems are fixed.

Donna - Hope the Med’s work quickly for Kerry.

Sharon and Betsey - Hope the storms do not impact your area too badly.

Tish - Did you ever find your glasses?

Char - I am currently very disappointed in law enforcement, social services and our court system!!!

OH BOY...DO i EVER AGREE WITH YOU ON THAT!!! And it seems the further south you go the worse it gets. I don't know how you ever get out from under their thumb. Too many fingers in the pie, and frankly they need to pay better attention to the really big issues and not so much to some other stuff that families can take care of. I am sorry you are having to deal with the bureaucracy and the way they hear things and do things. I don't know what your issues are but I am assuming its with the little kids and boy they will be up your butt and your daughters butt for a long time.......it seems that they think they have the right to be involved until kids are 18, They don't always see things in the way they really are. Textbook language gets in the way lots of time. I totally understand your frustration. .....

Good morning!! I am going for a run shortly. I have a nail appointment, need to get groceries, take Karyol to dialysis, pick up stuff from my grandfather’s house that is mine, hopefully get in my scrap room. I will not have to pick up the kids today so that will give me a little free time.

Good morning!

Of course I woke up earlier than I need to.
I frequently do that when I know I have to get out to Casey's by a certain early morning time.

I'll end up back at a grocery store. I forgot bottled water in gallons. I use it for coffee when camping. I think I have a list going of other items.

Sharon- are you getting rain yet? --or isn't it supposed to get you til later?

Catch everyone later.

Good morning.. I’ve been awake since 4. It’s hard to be so in a hotel room when the spouse is sleeping.

I’m apprehensive about the show today. Several people at the antique shops yesterday said the type of items that can be sold has changed. Many feetthe show name should change to reflect thay. Instead of ‘Antique Show’, make it ‘Vintage/Craft/Antique Show’. The owner/promoter, died two years ago and two of her children took it over. So today will be interesting.

Morning all, no rain here at the moment...it did rain sometime during the night but it's all dry now. I was up checking on dh and saw that the streets were wet. I don't even know what time it was.
Still breezy and cloudy but everything dry for now.

Di- it will be interesting to hear what you think of the show. I hope it does not disappoint. From the sounds of things it might be harder to find the types of items you like by having to "look" thru all the other vintage and craft stuff.

Morning,
Everyone slept well last night.
I made Bubba breakfast.
Ellen is sleeping in and I am back in bed with more coffee.
We are leaving at 10 for the fair.
Mike will be here too so it will be nice for Connor.

Di, I hope your day goes well.
Cathe, camping is fun, but it is a lot of work.

Kerry and I decided last night that we will take a cruise to Alaska next summer. Im going to start working on it right away.
Very excited!!!!

Sharon, I could make a meal on just corn on the cob too! I love it with lots of butter and of course salt. I am supposed to go light on the salt!

I have been doing laundry and cleaning up this morning before I can let myself sit and scrap or stand and scrap!
My scrap area is always a mess it seems...Clutter makes me anxious but I always seem to have clutter. It is because this old house was not built with closets like the newer homes.

It seems like I am mixed up since we have been talking on messenger and in here both. I can't remember what I have said and haven't said so bare with me for a bit!

Donna I think it is so wonderful that Bubs dad participates when he comes to your place. It does not seem possible he is now 11! Enjoy the fair with him. I was thinking the other day I should get Max and take him to the movies a couple of times this summer. Abbi is working and when she isn't working, she is playing soccer.

Cheryl, YES! finally found those glasses after looking through everything. After paying $440.00 for them, I did not want to lose them. I can see well with them, but not happy with the frames I picked out. For some reason I tend to rush picking out frames. I don't think I look good in this frame.

How are the little ones doing. Not sure what is going on, but I am glad they have you for a Grammie!

Trish, the last time I was in HL, I bought a few Farm Decor pieces that were on sale. If I had my way and could afford, my whole house would be farm decor. I really like it. I bought this sign I hung in my kitchen with a hen and it says Chicken and Waffles - Brunch - Home Cooking.

Cathe, I have several tank tops but do not wear them out in public anymore. My arms are getting old and flabby!!! Actually not getting.....they already are. The one time we used our Triple AAA, they planned out a trip to Nebraska for us back in 1972 or 1973 and we had the trip tics.

I envy your trip! I wish Allen could get his hips and legs feeling better so we could do some traveling. It is hard for him to do a lot of walking now.

Di, I am sorry Daelen has that carbohydrate malabsorption but so glad they are taking him to a good hospital and specialist. He sure looks like a healthy little guy!.

Lexie loves Eugene Oregon. She seems to be keeping busy and I haven't heard any complaints yet. She will be coming home for a few days in either Sept. or Oct. Her best friend, Emily, is getting married in Cape Cod. I hope to get to see her! It will probably be a whirlwind trip!

Betsey, I love National Geographic too and watch it a lot. I love the BIG cats of the wild and last night after going to bed I watched a show with the Lions and Leopards. So interesting and I love how they care for the young. I think I would like to subscribe to the magazine!

I hope you and Sharon don't get a ton of rain!

Josie...we watch the rain in Nebraska and feel for you farmers/ranchers. I hope you are feeling ok.

Jojo is probably very busy with her campers!

I will be glad when the forum is straightened out. I still have to go around Robin Hood's barn to get to the last post of mine! Also I get confused between June and July's challenges since we can't see them.

Hopefully I have July's challenge written down right.

Sharon am I right....are we to scrap a happy memory and the time of year, people etc?

Here is the July challenge again for those that have not gotten it done yet.

July is one of the few holidays I will decorate the outside of the house for, as well as some of my favorite memories of years past. Living in a lake town we had (and still to this day) a downtown lakeside carnival during the 4th of July week end.
Then of course this is also my birth month as well as two of my cousins…same year same month. Many happy memories.

Your challenge;
Make a layout that has happy memories for you example,
The people
A time of year
A favorite event

Then

Use 1 favorite technique or a technique you always wanted to try.
Use 2 pictures
Use 3 colors on your layout – black white and browns can be considered neutrals and don’t count unless you want them to.
Use 4 embellishments, it can be four the same – like 4 (examples only) flowers, dies, buttons or four different types of embellishments.

I've worked my tail off getting ready to camp.

I jumped in the pool after washing the camper/ I was so hot I thought I'd die. what a job! Rum did get the ladder and hose out for me. LOL actually that was a big help.

Donna- hope it wasn't too hot at the fair.
Glad everyone is going to be there and Connor will get to see his Dad. Does his Dad ever go to see him?

I'm going in the pool.
It will be a pizza night.

Cathe, I am so so jelly!
I want a pool so bad.
I’m here sweating and you’re enjoying the pool.

I went to ARC for 1/2 price day.
Found some nice things.
A small coffee table - perfect for in front of the futon $7.
A round marble table $12.
And a few other misc items.

Then went to Walmart for groceries.
Glad that task is over with.

Hope everyone has had a nice day!!

I would like to have a pool to cool off in but at my age I would need it shaded!! I can't afford any more sun!

I was wondering how you were liking the futon. Is the room coming together like you want?

Trish- you are a good bargain hunter.

Donna - you SHOULD go on an Alaskan cruise. Alaska is amazing.
I loved our cruise with Princess.
I think Jo and family went on a different cruise line.
Doug and Charity are looking into one, but not on Princess, it doesn't have a climbing wall or much to do.
Hope the fair was fun and you didn't overdo it.

Sharon- I hang out in the shaded spot in the pool quite often. I always put on sunscreen.........oops I only did my nose and shoulders today. I dislike the sunscreen I bought, I'm going to get a different one. It's clear and you can't see where you've put it and stinks like rubbing alcohol.

Turning off the computer now.
Sleep tight everyone.

It was 81 with a breeze.
We all had sunscreen on.

Are you ready for your camping trip.
So happy for you!

It’s 8 pm.
We’re all exhausted.
But it was a very happy day.
Im always happy to see Connor making new memories with his dad. So important.

Donna, it’s nice that Connor’s dad always makes it a point to be there when they visit.

My one little missing letter sure did cause a mess fixing it.
Was almost ready to throw it away.
Finally got it tho.

It’s only 10 and we’re both in bed already!

Good morning!!

I have so many last things to remember to pack!
I shouldn't be sitting here.
Of course I don't want to go.........I've bit my tongue several times to keep from saying it. ----only because it is going to be so dang hot. It is our family time though, and I think the kids would be disappointed if we didn't go. ...........and I want the cousins to be together. ....and Doug and Casey too. We've done this for about 38 years.

Di- Glad you found the show the same.....and you found a couple of things.

Trish- a real room! Yay! You are so funny.
I bet it does look nice. You have a knack for sprucing things up and decorating.
It is so annoying when one has to fix lettering! Been there, done that.

Donna- glad you had the good kind of exhausted.
Connor looks so happy. It iis wonderful he can be with his Dad.

ok, I'd better get going.
Have a nice week, be good!

Cathe- you will have a great time once you get going! It does take lots of work getting everything ready!
You will be missed this week while you are off making memories!!

Trish - Glad your room is turning out how you had envisioned it.
Great that you could trim down what you keep in your scrap room.

Donna - Connor had the biggest smile on his face in all the photos! What a wonderful time he had!

Cathe, I sure can understand why you don't want to quit the family campout. It is so much work getting ready.. Doesn't your trailer have AC?

in bed with laptop and not hurrying out any time soon.

Sharon, the problem with trimming down the scraproom means a lot of it ended up in the shed.
Lots of work to do in there, once again.

Di, I’m sure it feels nice to be back in your own bed!

Today Bobbi is having a margarita get together at 2.
I will go for awhile.

Diana youmade me laugh out loud.....""doesn't your camper have A/C" !!!! I ampretty sure you are serious and Its also possible that they have A/C. but if you camp and plug into Electric, and have A/C and have to have everything closed up I don't see the point!!! But that's just me......camping with electric and A/C is pretty up town. I am an old school, old style camper I guess. We had a big popup that slept six.....and more if you put up the tent and let the kids sleep in there outside. Which Jeff did anyway......!~! My kids were all real campers and NONE of them except Jeff and Karen camp now. And they never took their kids camping. sad to me....but then everyone does not like the same stuff. Camping is a lot of fun to me...and I don't remember a big deal getting ready.......But with a pop up there is not a lot of getting ready I guess. Although we did sleep with sheets in the summer even up on Lake Erie where is was very cool at night. I love when Cathe and her family go camping...it brings back so many memories of our days with the kids camping....and I mean my kids, not my grandkids. Florida seems to take the joy of camping away.......too hot, tooo buggy, and no real good beach camping areas. We camped at Ocean City Md many times and always were right on the beach..no streets to cross for kids etc....hearing the surf at night....ahhhh fond memories...we also camped at Myrtle Beach, S.C. and many other places. in Maryland and PA were the places we went the most.

Cathe I hope you have a wonderful time.......can't wait to see the photos.

Back from Bobbi’s .
Had a very nice time- wanted to stay longer but knew DH would want to eat dinner.
Met a few other neighbors that live behind Bobbi- very nice peeps.

We’re making dinner- corn on the cob and brots.

Hope everyone has enjoyed their day.

Betsey, our camper van did not have ac, neither did our trailer, but we camped with people who had it and kept theirs on.. yes we were hooked up to electricity.

I've not done much today... too tired, like you Donna. I do have my sprinkler on the gardens though but not running thru them.

Trish; hope the time at the neighbors is fun.

I need to figure out what to make for dinner.

Cathe, enjoy your camping trip!! Once there youll really enjoy everyone together. They grow fast, pretty soon the kids will be too busy and doing their own things!

Donna, glad you took a nap and still went on with the BBQ! I'm still whirling and swimming in my head as I have to really sit down and think what day of the week it is! People in and out all different days the past week, now going on 10 days...(through the weekend)… The 4th being on Thursday really screwed things up! Well, not the norm...
So happy you had a real nice visit with everyone. Get some good sleep tonight!

I think because I found that first photo and based the LO on that... My mind skipped the part of 2 pics... Luckily I had other shots of him in Bill's hat. I thought I could tuck it under the paper clip, but it blocked out top secret... So to the upper corner it went... and that was that!

Morning ladies
I went to bed early last night which in turn means I get up early.
I don't have anything planed for today I will just see how it plays out, I need to get groceries and will do that in a bit.

With today being Amazon Prime day I may have trouble getting there to stream shows.

Donna, it sounds like you had a lovely time over the week end.
Once you get the bbq going then the rest of the time you can just sit and enjoy.
Hopefully everyone pitches in when it comes time to clean up!!!

Morning!!

Sharon, yes everyone helped out.
It was such a lovely evening.

Nothing planned for today.
I want to get in my scraproom for a bit.
Ellen will work this morning on her computer.
She has a part time job.

Kerry has heartburn and a headache. We think it might be caused by the very strong antibiotic.

I have trouble remembering the day of the week! It has been a busy day, and I am tired this evening. I went to breakfast with friends this morning. Vi, Muriel and Pat....they are sister-in-laws. It was fun. I am fine once I get out. Getting inspired to go out is the hard part! I have spent most of the afternoon looking through boxes and albums for pictures for Jackson. He messaged me and asked if I had pictures of him with his mom, him with me etc. because they were making a video for his mom for her 50th birthday. I had to do a lot of scanning and emailing. It was fun though looking through older pictures and it brought back so many fun memories of younger times!

It also made me realize I really should get the pictures scrapped with journaling.

Alison stopped by with two quarts of strawberries for us and some witch hazel for my itchies! She is such a generous young lady!

She is on vacation this week, and going to a convention in Salt Lake City, Utah this week . It is on Essential Oils. One of her friends is going with her. She wanted Tim to go, but he has to work.

I made a delicious supper. Mashed potato, pork roast, gravy and peas. It came out good. The pork was cheap! 99 cents a pound! I did it in the crock pot with onions and spices and it was tender like pulled pork!

I just looked out back and there are six or seven coons out there. Adult and young-uns. Oliver is on the deck kind of secluded watching them. They are digging around the ground by the bird feeders getting seed that the birds spill.

Di, I noticed that too.
I had to turn off my notifications for messenger.
I will still go read when I remember but it wakes me up in the morning! I have my ringer off but it still makes a noise- vibrate,
I guess.

Also, sometimes I look at my phone and it may have close to 100 notifications!! I can’t go back and read that .

I’ll also check back in here every now and then and see if anyone is around.

We had another rainstorm tonight about dark that dumped another inch of rain on already saturated soil. Now we have wet hay on the ground as well...quite a lot of it! Some progress was made on cleanup of the burn so that was good!

Morning!

Well I knew it was coming... My cleaning lady quit. I'm ok with it. I felt invaded in a weird way. Anywho, I'll be cleaning cabins today.

Oh Jojo...I am sorry that you won’t have help but I understand your feeling of being invaded. When we had that lady here taking care of Roys mom it sort of felt the same way.

Morning, I am still working thru the feeling of being invaded in my own home with Pam being here 3 days a week.
1. I like having the freedom to come and go those days.
2. I often don't like leaving the house.
3. I like that I don't have to jump up every time dh wants something.
4. It bothers me that someone else is doing his bidding while I scrap 15 feet away.
5. It's nice to have someone doing the laundry, dishes, cleans his room, him, his bathroom.
6. I feel lazy for not doing it myself and still Pam has time to chat on the phone, take a nap, be one her computer.

Don't get me wrong, Pam ALWAYS puts DH needs first and stays in the room with him...but there is only so much you can do on the days he sleeps a majority of the time.

Trish, I never thought about all the pinging you get with a phone!!!! I don't even keep mine in the same room at night. Then the fact that I don't use it for messenger. It would drive me crazy if my phone pinged all night and day!!!

Dang Josie, I was hoping you could get the hay up before it got more rain!!!! How long before it gets moldy from being wet too long on the ground?

Jojo, sorry you lost the help...I hope it works out fine in the end.

Morning,

I turned my phone off,
The pinging is too distracting.

I am picking up my scraproom a bit.
The clutter has gotten under my skin.
Going to the post office today to mail two swaps,
Then over to see Daniel, my friend with throat cancer.
It’s not looking good for him, but his attitude is good.

Kerry is going to the movies with a friend.
To be honest with you, we are really getting on each other’s nerves. She needs to go to work or something.

Donna, I thought she was working or had a job to start.
I know your friend will enjoy the company during the rough times.

Glad you are getting time in your scrap room, cleaning or making swap projects.

Donna, does your friend have esophageal cancer?
It threw me off when you say throat cancer as I never thought of it that way.
My brother, cousin, and bff all had that.
All males, and none of them smoked.

Good morning.

Donna, you are a good friend.
Very nice of you to take the time to visit when you can.
I understand how you feel with Kerry being home all the time.
Space and time apart are a good thing!
I know the feeling all too well.

Sharon, I’m sure it would be a huge adjustment to having someone there like you do.
It’s good to have the help but strange to have someone else going about in your home.

JoJo, sorry the helper didn’t work out- did she say why?

Jo, Mother Nature needs to give you all a break.

Sharon, I know how hard it is to make those choices!
Especially because what you choose you live with for a long time!
It’s not like buying a set of curtains or bedspread that can easily be changed out.
Will both sides of the house have the same or is this just for your side?

I put the dogs out and then they are barking like crazy. Peter texts me to say he was barking at the dogs through the security cameras. He’s so funny.

Char, that is too funny!
Leave it to Peter...

Trish - I am leaning toward the light color in the kitchen with the dark grey for the hutch by the table with the light counter top. It is an open room so everything will make a big impact.

I am just afraid I will get tired of the dark bottom and light top over time rather than all one color.
Still I like the fact that I can have the dark hutch in there too.

I may use the light color in my craft room too, but will have to come up with a different counter top as I can't put solid surface in there at this time.
I will be lucky if I can have the any new cabinetry in there.

Char, that is hilarious what Peter did.. have to tell Dale. Please share how your experience at the LE center goes...

Josie; dang on the rain. I too am wondering how you prevent mold? It's been a bad year there.

Donna, I get the 'too much togetherness thing. Is she looking for work? Have you been able to get rested from last weekend's company? takes a lot out of us.

Soooooooooooooooooooo, drumroll..... I pulled the switch and ordered the newest Cricut: The Cricut Maker... my new toy; and I'm so lucky to be able to do it. The bundle on hsn is good. It comes July 30th.

Those are normal sentiments/feelings for care takers when getting help (finally for some). It's not easy and I'm glad you have Pam.. please don't be hard on yourself. It's nice he'll allow Pam to help.
