I ache today, well every day, but worse today. Dr. Flynn is sending me for lab work to see if I have Lyme.

HELP, I need Mojo! I did place a small order on sb.com yesterday and hope it gives me some mojo when it comes. I haven't even done my own challenge!

I am way behind here!!

Betsey, has Lilly had any formal assessment? Parents can request this in writing and it must be done within 60 days.
Federal law. Let's find out what the heck is really going on!!
If she is bored, the testing will show a high IQ, and high scores. Then they can place her in a more appropriate classroom...and so on.

Sharon, I am really sorry about the cancellation of dDicks's PT. Makes no sense to me.

Tish, I have no mojo either.
Yours and mine must be “out to lunch” together!
It’s ok, maybe when they return they will have brought us leftovers!! Lol!

I used those sketches last month and got 8 pages done but they’re still sitting on my counter- haven’t taken a photo of them yet.
Reason being is I feel like some of them may need just a bit extra.
Not sure ? They seem kind of plain to me.

We got home about noon.
We took the back way home from the Wisconsin Dells.
That took us right out by my school.
I stopped in and surprised the Secretary and one teacher that I know that is still there. They were really happy to see me and I was happy to see the school looking so nice. They have less than 100 kids. I don't know how they stay open. It would be a great place for Lilly.

As I entered the house Carole texted me: Did I know anything about the lock down at Rayn's high school? I said no, and flipped on the local tv station as I knew that had noon news. The Superintendent was on. He wasn't in a panic so I knew things must have been ok. He said no students had been released because the news reporter asked if kids had been released to parents. I texted Casey , but of course she is busy at school and not with her phone. I texted Doug and he got back to me and said he heard a parent had called in a threat. OMGosh, how scary!

I read the last two days and skimmed a bit before that.
It was great talking to everyone on Messenger as I was a passenger in the car. It really helped pass the time. But I prefer here. I'm worried about what is going to happen on Sept. 5th

Sharon- I'm like you.......I figure anything out there is fair game for someone wanting to get to our conversations.
Glad to hear you got D ick to the doctor and back without much trouble.
It's awful that he doesn't qualify for PT anymore. I'm with everyone else..........he needs it even more if he hasn't made progress.

Betsey- oh poor Lilly. I wish your family could move to a different state!!

Trish- Was sorry to hear Jae had a rough start, but seemed ok when you saw her.
When is the block party going to be?
It's cool to have deer in the yard, but not a snake!!
What kind was it???
I wouldn't be able to go into the yard every again!

Donna- you rode in a hot air balloon with your dad? How cool!
I didn't catch what bit you. Hope you have found relief from the itching.
Glad to hear that you've been ok with returning to school. I know you are still tired but are holding up.

Di- I can picture your photos on your dining room table!
How sweet Dori flew into your arms!
So funny that Dale commented that her braces were Seahawk colors and being a girl she replied no, they were her cheer-leading uniform colors. LOL
Thank you for having everyone for dinner. That was so nice and your meal was delicious.
Tell me again: How much salt did you use to brine your chicken? It was so tender.

Tish- weren't you diagnosis with Lyme disease a few years ago?
I don't think it ever goes away. I'm glad Allen is going ahead with his knee surgery. He'll be so much better off.
That is an outrageous price for Senior pictures. Nev had her friend take hers. Although she must have had one taken for the yearbook, but I would think that would have been free. It was nice of everyone to chip in so she wouldn't have to miss out on such a milestone.

Jo- yes I did notice Griffyn stood up to eat but didn't really think anything of it............boys are boys, kids are kids, Both those boys are so cute and well mannered. It was a treat to meet them. Thank you for driving two and a half hours to meet me and two and a half hours back home.

Char- I love how protective Chloe is.
I loved being in your home and seeing you shoe collection!!!
Thank you and Peter for taking us to lunch.
It was so nice seeing the girls. They have changed so much since Vegas.

I was so lucky to see Di, Char, Jo and the boys. (also Terry from the monthly thread) --Nice I have an understanding husband.
I only got mad at him twice in two weeks and two days. LOL

JoJo- Sorry that Elizabeth won't be able to come over Labor Day.
Boy of boy is that Brodie ever full of mischief!

Cheryl- we can start our nightly messenger talks!

I am going to start the challenge. I came in here to find out what is required. I found Betsey's challenge and fortunately she told what was required, so thanks Betsey for including that.

Well Tomorrow is the first of the teacher, guidance counselor parent confrences. AMANDA is going with them. YES Now we are going to get someplace. Amanda will understand everything and be able to explain and translate to Ally and Robby. You know how that all goes.......! She is Lilly's Aunt and on the list of people to call so, not to mention that she is the Behavior Specialist for The PLACE program in all the schools. LOL

This is very very good news and this sounds like Ally is trying very hard to make changes. I have suspected this and Karen says that it's true so I am greatly encouraged. We do not have gifted or special ed in these public schools. I am not sure how that all works other than the people who vote here have voted to not have gifted or special ed for kids in elementary school. If they can keep up in a regular class with some tutoring by some of the reading specialists etc. then they get along ok for the most part. But it's no accident that we have 8 full classes of elementary kids classified as EBT meaning that they are locked classrooms and contain kids pretty much like Lilly or worse. Today I asked her why she did not eat her lunch and she told me......" I was distracted by the kids beside me who were acting bad and sharing food and trying to get me to do that. But I didn't". DISTRACTED? it sounds like a zoo to me. But what first grader uses the word distracted??? She has other words she uses commonly that are so far beyond her grade level it's not funny. Anyway maybe I am wrong but six year olds didn't talk like that when I was just working in schools five years ago. LOL She is quite a kid. I too, wish we lived in an area that had a better education level but I don't know where we would all have to move these days. I know it's better in some areas of Florida but it's no accident that we are near the bottom of the national list of schools. Altyhough I just looked it up again and somehow Florida made the top ten list of Best pulbic schools in America! Could not prove it by me!!!!!

Wow. Betsey.
I’ve never heard of a school without Special Education.
Perhaps they are using the Full Inclusion model. All the special needs kids are blended into regular classes. There is a BIG debate about this across the country. Of course there are advantages and disadvantages to both sides.
I am praying that Lilly gets into a class that helps her.

Donna- where were you when you got all bit up?
Yikes! poor you!

I finally talked to Casey about 5:20.
She said it was a very tense and scary day with the lock down.
There were all kinds of rumors flying.
SWAT team went room by room and searched all the kids. Rayn said they didn't have to put up their hands, but most did. The situation went on until 1:00. She was lucky because she forgot to put her lunch in her locker and she had something to eat.
Kian's grade school was also on lock down. It was school bus drill day. Some kids were already on the bus. Kian said he was just to the door when they stopped him and the rest and sent them to their classrooms. The bus full of kids were taken to another grade school. That school ran out of food for lunches and had to get food from a another school.
Interesting: There was a robbery --I'm not sure if it was a bank or what. Right now they are saying the two aren't connected. hmmm?

I got all choked up talking to Casey. Kids should be safe at school.

Donna, I think you are right in regards to the Full Inclusion model in school here. All so with teachers that have or did not have just a few years ago, any training as how to teach with Full Inclusion students!! That can be a wide spectrum of kids!

I can only guess there are different ways some of your kids learn and then to figure out how best to incorporate that into the curriculum...not being a teacher I am only guessing.

Tish, sorry you are having such an ache day!! I only start to ache when I go to bed, my hips, my knee, my shoulder....doesn't leave you much left to sleep on comfortably!! Maybe I should take my Aleve at bedtime!!!

Happy to hear that Lilly is getting more attention in school program placement this year. It would be nice for her to have a school recommendation for her for whatever type learning she needs. I hope all goes well tomorrow!

Cathe,
I was at a pool party.

Yes, school should be a loving, safe haven.
It’s a tragedy the way things are.

I think I may be nuts!
I went to goodwill today looking for a wreath.
Didn't find one but I found a cute little plastic bistro set!
I had to have it- thinking I would paint it and use it in my rock area to set plants on.
It ended up in the front.
All the rocks pull to the edges and reconfigured the 12x12 paver bricks to make a little landing for the table set.
Shaking my head the whole time and laughing that only I would go through all this work for a $5 table.
Mel and Deb were both with me and helping.
It is not done yet because by the time I figured out if the space was right, I didn't have enough time to do the actual work.
Tomorrow I will go get some sand to help with the leveling of the pavers.
I painted it a bright yellow, like the stuff in my backyard because that's where it was supposed to go.
I think it will be super cute!!

Cathe, I bet you are so glad to be home.
I bet your behind was tired of sitting.
I know you had fun and getting to meet up with 3 ladies from here was the icing on the cake!

That is so scary about the lockdown.
I wish my girls were homeschooled.
Not that that takes all concerns away, as we know, but it would be one less thing to worry about.

I am tired.
All that brick/rock work is hard!
I'm on my second wine cooler which makes me even more tired.
Tomorrow I will finish that area and I also have some edging stuff to work on.
At least the weather is a bit cooler.

Being my kids are all out of school, I'm out of touch as to special education vs. full inclusion. I will say, DD Elizabeth's new position is an inclusion teacher...so... I would think her school is full inclusion?
I talked with her about my idea and she's thrilled. What she really needs is a cart which has many different drawers to put her stuff in. She has an office and teaches in another classroom, therefore she has to move around with all her stuff. This cart she really needs, so I've ordered it for her. She has a wish list on Amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078Y36PZH/?coliid =I1DI1CW4RF...

I'll still get the tote and fill it. She deserves everything I can get her. She's worked so hard for this!

Betsey, I love Lily's first day school pics! She is such a beauty inside and out. I am happy to hear Amanda is going to the conference and praying Lily is placed where she should be so she can thrive and continue her yurn to learn!! She is an inquisitive child, she loves all things and has that drive to want to know more and more about all. I think it is so wonderful she has such a wonderful support group within your family. She's got you, Karen, David, Ally, her "Dad" (I forget his name, the guy no longer with Ally, but still friends) who spends great times with her. She's been with so many caring close family members, mostly adults who she has absorbed so much from. She's going places!!!
