I only left the room for a few minutes to go down the hall and take pictures of the Bonnie and Clyde exhibit and the car they were in when they were killed. Its on display near the registration desk. The hotel owns it so its always here and I scrapped it once before and it was interesting. Its been about 6 or 7 years since I scrapped the death car and Bonnie and Clyde so will do that again later now that I have fresh pictures.

I'm not a fan of Vegas at all. I got burned out a long time ago and now I'm happy to stay in my room. I'm not good around drunk people and just walking through the casino to get a quick lunch I ran head into a woman who had too much to drink and was getting sick everywhere. That isn't much fun but I've never been to Vegas when I didn't get the show of at least 2 or 3 people sick in the casinos.

You get that outside on the sidewalk too. I just don't think its fun to be around people who are drinking like that. I'm a very light drinker and Bill hardly ever drinks either so we don't enjoy a heavy drinking atmosphere and it seems like Vegas is worse every year with people drinking really heavy.

I also hate the traffic around the strip and finding parking and the price of food and things. Two more days and we get to leave here and go to San Diego where things are more sane.

I do love the shows but don't think we are going to do any this time. Neither of us want to drive the strip to get there and then have to deal with parking and getting through the casinos where the shows are. This time I am just enjoying chilling in the room and having dinner with Bill somewhere. Tonight I'm going to ask him to bring me a subway meatball sandwich so I can eat in the room. When he gets out of the license plate meet he is always ready to chill in the room. He is tired after a day of moving license plates around!

Henri, where in Vegas are you staying?

Hi girls!!!! I'm baaaaack. Just got up from a nap a little while ago and my wonderful husband is cooking dinner. I didn't have to have the heart cath, long story short the cardiologist on duty thought it would harm my kidneys and it was too soon after my last one. I'll spare you the drama. But I'm home, feeling better and I am resting....and life resumes tomorrow. (read my blog post and you'll see why). Love you ladies and thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers! They worked! Big hugs!

Prayer is a powerful thing! I'm so happy you are home and didn't have to go through that procedure.

Kimberly I'm glad to hear you are home and resting! Take care and get lots of rest!

Very cute puppy pictures! I'm working on puppy pix right now too - just printed like 200 from when we got our dog last year. I just did the cover page today and my next project is to work through the layouts.

I've never been to Vegas, well as an adult. Went once as a child, we stayed at Circus Circus and was so sad when they tore it down. I don't remember much and I'm sure it's changed a lot. We pulled into town and went straight to our hotel and stayed there - my parents probably didn't want us seeing too much!

Quiet week for me scrapbooking - in other words I did nothing except pull out supplies and work on that cover page today! But maybe tomorrow - I have high hopes of actually working on some layouts!

Such a cute puppy! Thx for sharing the pics, Joanie!

Kim, glad you're back. Hope you feel better soon!

I'm not a big fan of Vegas either, we went for daughter's gym meet a few weeks ago and it was the kids first time so we went to Coke world and M&Ms. DD and her friends did the roller coaster ride.. We found a very nice Japanese strip mall with awesome gourmet dessert and a nice Taiwanese place for soy milk and breakfast. :P

We are going back because DD qualified for regional. I know that hotel is also off from the strip. It will be a short trip and we are looking forward to having that beautiful dessert again.. and maybe a bowl of good ramen next door.

San Diego should be very nice now, hope you enjoy it there Henri!

Thank you - we always enjoy seeing Bill's daughter and the grandkids.

Bill and I are used to our own space and privacy so we rented a travel trailer with bathroom that was delivered to his daughter's house and set up yesterday. She said it is nice.

That way we can sleep in and have our own routine and not have to get dressed up to walk down the hall to the bathroom during the night.

Last time the 3 year old kept wandering in our bedroom and coming out with my jewelry (which she didn't want to give up) and perfumes and once with BIll's prescription meds so everything had to be kept up high.

Even his razor couldn't be left in the bathroom, had to be kept up high.

This time we can just enjoy the visit and not worry about the kids getting hurt with our stuff. We aren't used to having to be careful like that.

And at night when we get tired, we can retreat to our own little private space.

Six days is a long time to stay in anyone's house anyway (it is for us) so this way we won't all be on top of each other.

Then we will leave there on the 1st (I think) to start driving home and will be in Florida on April 6th. That is the plan anyway.

On April 8th we drive to Ft. Lauderdale and on April 9th we jump on our cruise ship! Two weeks in the Caribbean. We are looking forward to it!

Hi, I'm Jay my late wife left a bunch of scrapbook tools and supplies and I'm only guessing how to sell these items to a group who loves this stuff as much as she did. Do you have any suggestions? There are 12 sets of 2" Sizzlits 31 piece trays like notepad and wet paint. And the big shot machine. Many scissors, other holiday die cuts, 4 tubs of paper, stencils, punches, so much to me. I live in Las Vegas. My next hope if not a forum is Facebook group. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi all. In light of recent events I'm going to take the week off. When I got out of the hospital I hit the ground running, thinking I could resume activities as usual.... by Friday afternoon when I got home from the cardiologist I was and still am exhausted and feel like I got hit by a train. I have a lot to be thankful for this Easter season and will be spending a lot of this time reflecting, journaling, exploring my faith journey. You gals have been awesome... I may poke my head in sometime this week, right now I just need to concentrate on truly resting, which means taking a break from the computer and other distractions... I plan on doing a lot of coloring, catching up on a few of my shows, go for a swim or two, and take a walk down by the river behind my home... I connect with my faith so much by the water. It's time for renewal, rebirth.

So sorry for your loss. Unfortunately, this is not the place for passing on your late wife's supplies. Might I suggest Ebay or possibly a church or school group in your area who might benefit from them. Thank you.

Hi All! JCI....Had off Friday and went to see Batman v. Superman with my DH and DS. WE LOVED IT! I don't know what the critics were talking about because it was great. Affleck really delivered.

Easter was quiet. My daughter was going to come up but then decided she just wanted to spend the day in her own home with her pup and her man. I totally get it. She'll be back in a couple of weeks because her dad will have her taxes done and she'll need to sign them and get them out.

DS had a photo in a local art show over the weekend. It was a photo he worked on in his digital photography class. Super proud of him! Just wish he would apply himself more.

Going to a scrapbook retreat next weekend that I need to plan for, yikes! And on top of it, this week is going to be super busy. I can usually get about 30+ pages done at a retreat so I'm stoked!

I hope you all have a great day.

Wow Joanie your son's photo is amazing, love it!
30 layouts at a weekend crop, that is amazing! Sounds like you have an awesome weekend to look forward to this week!

Kimberly, I am glad you are taking the time for yourself otherwise you will never fully recover. Take care of yourself and enjoy the down time!

Henri, Your husband and yourself sound like the best houseguests! How lucky for your kids and grandkids that you are so considerate. Safe travels!

Shirley, love the Ziva reference! M&M's and Coke sounds like quite a place to visit! Fun!

I agree about Vegas I have not been since my family went through way back in the late 70's and early 80's. I know it has changed but I just have no desire to go plus I am not a heat person.

This week will be so busy, what is it with schools right before a break they throw every thing at you! No wonder one needs a break! The kids are so exhausted they need a few days to recover!

Anyway...Happy Scrapping!

Hi Jay - I'm sorry about your wife.

Scrapbook.com has a wonderful store here where we try to buy our supplies - our first place to shop! Because they offer these boards to us at no charge we are all very loyal to buying our supplies in the superstore here.

I know it sounds like a great idea to try to sell here because we are all scrapbookers and use supplies like those (and it sounds like she has some wonderful things), but its not fair to the fantastic people who offer us these boards for free. Our purchases keep the boards here going for us.

Its against the board policies to sell things here. Not trying to be rude to you, just wanted to let you know the situation.

So sorry for your loss Jay. Your best bet would be to donate the items to a local nursing home or assisted living facility as they have small budgets and lots of crafters.

Hi all! Just checking in today, I finally managed to work on and complete 2 2-page layouts this morning, after quite a long break. I was/am feeling really burned out...I kept wandering into my office and looking at things and telling myself I should work on something, but really didn't want to. I kind of had to force myself this morning, but I'm glad I did - it is a rainy day and the 2 layouts were a nice little easy project to start back with. I've been scrapping heavily and almost daily since last September, so I'm okay with taking a little break. How does everyone else handle burnout - push through and keep working or just let it run it's course?

We leave in 90 days for vacation so I've been trip planning and scrapbook planning for that. I have most of my supplies now and picked out 2 albums - still need to order a few DC specific things from sb.com but I have some time yet.

Joanie your son's photo project is amazing!

Hope everyone is having a good week!

Jay - while I am deeply sorry for your loss, this group is not the place to try to sell your late wife's scrap supplies. I would suggest evilbay or Craigslist. Freecycle only if you don't want any money for it.

Joanie - adorable puppy pictures!!! I am a sucker for a furry little face!!! My husband mistakenly believes that this means he does not have to shave. I said, "I don't think so, Scooter." His boss requires him to be clean-shaven anyway, so I don't have to nag...er...pester him about it.

Shirley - glad to see you here! I've been following your DD on Facebook. Good luck to her for regionals! I'm a HUGE gymnastics fan. Have been since, forever really.

Jill - I hope you are getting some much-needed rest! I agree with schools that throw things right before break or right after. Thursday was my thirteen-year-old daughter Elizabeth's last choir concert of elementary school. She had two solos.

Henri Jean - WOW y'all are traveling a lot!!! Glad to see you here, it's been a while!!!

Karen - WOW scrapping daily??? I haven't done that in forever!!! Sounds like you are getting a lot accomplished! Way to go!

For those of you who don't know me, I am *mumble mumble* years old, work for McDonald's and It Works. In July, I will celebrate fourteen years of marriage to my other half, Jeremy. I am the mother of thirteen-year-old Elizabeth, aka Lizzie and almost-eighteen-year-old Jordan, aka Jory. I am owned by Max, our resident "house tiger" who turns six next month. To round out the family, I also have three "informally adopted" daughters. All of them are spoiled rotten.

I have been scrapping for gosh, going on 18 years now. My son Jory will be 18 at the end of this month and I started playing with paper with his baby book. I wondered if I could turn it into an art project. I was an artist before I was a scrapper.

Reading the snake stories reminded me of my own snake story. I had come home after closing at McDonald's. Because I forgot to grab a drink before we shut the soda machine down, I went to the kitchen to get something out of the fridge. Jeremy had been fallen asleep in the living room, and the kids were visiting his mom overnight.

I saw a dark shape in front of the fridge, and assumed it was one of Jory's socks. I started to kick it into his room, which was off the kitchen. Thinking better of it, I switched on the kitchen light so I'd be sure to get it into his room. It was a garter snake. I stumbled backwards and woke Jeremy.

"Jeremy," I said, "Jeremy. Wake up. There's a snake in the kitchen. If you don't wake up and get it out of here, I will scream and wake up the whole building."

"Grab it behind its head and take it outside," he mumbled to me.

"No way Jose today," I answered. "You are the man of the house, this is your JOB."

He gets up, and goes into the kitchen. He picks the snake up, and escorts it out of the house while talking to it in a Jar Jar Binks voice. *facepalm* "You-sa don't belongs in here. No. You-sa belongs outside, yes."

It was more than likely the same snake Jory had seen the day before. He'd seen it, we'd told him it was a garter snake, and he asks, "Is it from Gardner, Kansas?" I was rolling.

Jeremy gave him a haircut that day, and had to leave the sliding glass door open to plug in his clippers. Instant access for the snake. But it also meant the snake was in the house for 24 hours at least before being seen by me. Eeeshk!!!!

I don't like snakes either, but my philosophy is they ARE God's creatures, too, and they don't deserve to be killed. However, that said, they ALSO are NOT allowed into my house uninvited. I tell that to Jeremy all the time when he removes a critter, "Don't kill it, it's God's creature! Just explain to it that it wasn't invited over to visit!"

You are absolutely right - they are God's creatures but when we got a few mice in our house a few years ago, they did not live to tell about it.

We trap a lot of critters in the back yard and we do relocate them.

What is strange is when we called animal control to see if they would relocate the critters we caught they told us they didn't do that anymore.

Bill asked where the best place to take them was and we were told it was illegal to move them to other property unless it was at least 40 acres and we had written permission of the owner to move raccoons, possums, armadillos and things there.

We asked where we should take them then she told us the only legal thing to do was shoot them, and it was the most humane.

Well, that is not happening. We are not going to shoot them or hurt them. We found a huge area of forest that goes on forever with woods so we take them there and turn them loose.

Hi all. Ali was right, I am in Sutter's CCU awating a heart catheterization in morning. It's been quite the roller coaster, I was literally OUT yesterday and was coded and sent to an emergency MRI to see if I had a stroke. I didn't. But I'm still not really with it.

Kimberly!!!

We haven't had any mice, or as my daddy used to call them, "meeses." We thought we had some once. I kept hearing scrabbling noises in the hallway, in the closet where the air conditioner was.

I got the cat, brought her into the hallway. She looked at the closet door, looked at me, yawned, and went back to bed. Some hunter she was! I continued hearing the noises over the next several days, but didn't know what was causing them.

One night, we were all four in the family room. Jeremy was watching TV, the kids were playing with their toys on the floor, and I was sorting scrapbooking stickers into a new sticker binder.

All of a sudden, Jory jumps up and tries to climb up the front door. Ten-year-old boy, climbing UP the front door. "Mouse! Mouse!"

That's all I needed to hear. I was on my chair in two seconds flat, and I'm...ah..."fluffy." I see a little brown furry thing streak across the living room floor and hide behind my scrapbook shelves. I hop off the chair and race for the bedroom, where I set up camp in the exact center of our California king-sized bed.

"Dad, it's in Mom's scrapbook shelves," Jory had regained his bravado.

"I'm not touchin' your momma's scrapbook stuff," Jeremy tells him.

"Take it apart! I don't care! I'll reorganize!" I call from the bedroom.

Jeremy comes into the bedroom, goes into the closet, and comes out with his sword. Yes, my husband has a sword, it's hidden in a cane. He goes off to defend me from this itty-bitty mouse.

Ten minutes later, he calls to me from Lizzie's room. "Honey, come see this."

"No!" I refuse to move from my safe spot. "I don't want to see it, just get it out of my house. But don't kill it." God's creature and all.

"No, really," he's insistent. "Honey, you want to come see this."

I slide off the bed and go down the hall toward Lizzie's room. I peek around the doorjamb. "I don't see anything," I'm prepared to run.

"Mice have tails, don't they?" Jeremy asks. I nod. "Look. I think we've got ourselves a hamster."

Sure enough, a neighbor's hamster got out of its cage and into an air duct and found its way into our apartment. He and Jory scoop the hamster into a shoe box, and he and the kids take the hamster door to door to find its owner.

The kids wanted to keep it, but I explained that we couldn't keep what wasn't ours. If the hamster didn't have a home, we would take it in.

Hi everyone-
Kimberly I hope you are feeling better and hope the doctors can get things worked out for you - must be very hard!

Hi Ria! Wow you have had some crazy creature encounters!

We've been lucky - no snakes or mice in our house - but lots of mice in the garage. We get deer and raccoons in our yard often too. Last weekend our 1 year old beagle found a dead frog in the yard after the snow melt, and picked it up and ran with it, only to drop it on the ground and roll on it - gushing out the insides all over himself. Needless to say he got a bath, but he still goes to that spot in the grass where it was and rolls in it. He's such a goofball.

I've been making some progress on the dog photos and have finished up about 25 layouts. I'm about half way through he stack of photos. I've run out of supplies so have to look for some more pet-themed things to keep going with it. This week I'm just working on editing photos so I can get my next photo order ready to go. And buy some more dog supplies!

Wait did I read that right??? You ran out of supplies????

I am so impressed you have 25 layout done way to go Karen!

Finally after receiving a Silhouette for Christmas and doing a 4 room move in the house, it has been plugged in today. I was a little nervous making the jump from circuit as I kept hearing there is a huge learning curve! I think I built it up too much because I am loving this baby! Wow! There is so much more it can do that I will need to explore it more!
I am also loving the images for everything and anything.

Kids are on Spring Break this week so not sure how much I will be getting done! ....Definately not 25 layouts!

Yep, that's what happens when you live in a ground-floor apartment with a sliding-glass door. When Jeremy and I split up for a while, and the kids and I moved to a different apartment, I told Jory, "Since Daddy's not staying with us right now, you have been promoted. As the next male in the family, YOU are now the 'Chief Critter Getter Ridder Of-er.' That is your new title." He was 12, puffed out his chest and said, "I can do it, Momma."

Bill was cooking on the grill I night and left one of the back French doors to the patio open. Then he went to the office (extra bedroom converted) to use the computer.

I was walking into the kitchen just in time to see a huge - really huge possum stroll in the house. I screamed, he stood in hind legs and screeched and turn and ran back outside.

The animals were have to relocate are the raccoons. So destructive. I love the raccoons but we can't have them anywhere around our house. Too much damage.

Howdy! I tried to sit down and scrap today, but it didn't work out so well. I got distracted. I had the PERFECT picture printed, the kids with one of the Ninja Turtles at the local carnival summer before last. Jory's giving me his typical, "Momma, SERIOUSLY?" look. My second job distracted me for a while, and I lost the mojo. I'm hoping to regain it at some point this weekend, though...

Ria, I get the block I have been struggling all week and the project just keep stacking up. I start one, get stuck and move on thinking I will get my mojo going but no luck!

Hope all is well with everyone!

Hope everyone had a good weekend! Glad you are home Kimberly and hope you get lots of rest.

Jill thanks for all of the comments my layouts! I appreciate it!

I haven't worked on anything all week either. I need to get my photos edited and print out the next batch - there's not a lot but it would give me something else to work on.

I got together with a friend of mine yesterday who wants to start scrapbooking again, so we went to a few stores and I helped her pick out some things, so that was fun. Picked up a few things for myself as well, but wasn't able to find any pet-themed supplies which is what I need, so I'll have to order some.

Hope everyone has a good week!

Oh gosh Karen, I should be thanking you for posting all those layouts. You re-ignited my interest in going back to Disneyland to see the California side. It was so fun to look at your layouts and see all the changes since we were there last. But mostly it was encouraging to see how much your boys liked it especially since they are little older like mine.

How nice you were able to go shopping with a friend. Always more fun to spend together!
Happy Monday everyone!

Yes, thank you, Karen for the eye candy! I'm planning a trip to Disneyland this summer. This just adds fuel to my scrapbook fire! Thanks!

Thanks you guys..you are all so nice!

Jill - the boys were 8 & 10 when we did DisneyLand/Caliornia Adventure. As soon as I heard about CarsLand being built I knew we had to go - my kids totally grew up Cars. I wanted to go while they were still young enough to really get into it. Cali Adventure is really fun - I think the kids liked it almost better than DL.

I still have to photo and upload my DisneyLand book...I'll try to get to it soon.

I miss Disneyland, I've only been once, but I grew up a Disney kid in Orlando, working in the song and dance group in Pioneer Square and then character cast member as Ariel in 1990-91 at WDWR. David and I are planning on going back next year for our 20th wedding anniversary.

I'm back from my trip. Got some interesting scrapbooking stuff from Stockholm and Paris which I'm dying to use. I even picked up some local french cutting dies. And I was so happy to see that they had stamps in french too.

I really like all the pet stories (snakes, cats, mice, hamsters) that you've posted. It really cheered me up =)

Kim - glad to hear you are resting up. I love the logo you designed! How cool you were a cast member AND played Ariel. Ariel is my daughters favorite. She grew up to be a mermaid as she was a swimmer during her high school years!

Angel - Can't wait to see what you picked up on your trip and what you create with it.

Happy Thursday, everyone!

Hi all! Happy Friday! Any of you ladies working on projects this weekend? I have a few cards to finish for my blog giveaway. Right now it's three in the morning and I can't sleep... first time in a while where this has been a problem. I got a lot done yesterday, mainly finishing the reformatting of my blog and editing my business cards. I make my own and just print off however much I need. Hubby and I have decided not to go out of town for our anniversary so I will most likely be hanging out in the studio for National Scrapbook Day...

Hello! I did not work on anything over the weekend...I've been a major slacker lately. Tthe weather was finally beautiful and so we got out and did stuff - my son had 2 soccer games, we grilled out, got out patio furniture and sat out in the yard, and my older son and I went mountain biking yesterday. It was fun but I am sore today!

Kimberly that is super cool that you were a cast member at WDW!

So last night I downloaded the last months worth of photos off my camera and spent the night editing and choosing which photos to print. I have about 50 more photos to do and then I'll order them today, so I can finally start scrapping those. Being so caught up certainly has it's downfalls - I don't have much to work on! I miss it! Once I place the order I'll start pulling supplies and getting ideas, so I'm looking forward to that.

I'm totally bummed that I missed the free shipping code for SB.com over the weekend - I saw it come out and never looked at the expiration! I guess I'll have to stockpile things in my wishlist until the next code!

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Yesterday I started printing photos from my Paris trip (there aren't a lot, because I always forget to snap pictures when I'm in the moment) and I thought I would do something with them today seeing as I'm on vacation for another 2 weeks.
However, my nephew needed a last-minute baby sitter and there went my day.
Maybe tomorrow I can get back to my Paris project =)

Hi Everyone! Hope you all had a good weekend!

Kimberly what a great album for your mom...I love the weathered wood papers and frames!

Angel I hope your Paris project is going well!

I got my photo order this weekend and was able to start a few pages - I did a couple layouts for my son's birthday (photos in my signature link) and am about to start his indoor soccer pictures today.

We were out and about most of the weekend - Saturday had a double header baseball game in the morning, then volunteered a couple hours for our villages community service day, then came home to do yard work the rest of the day. Sunday we plotted new yard projects, ran to the home improvement store, then had a soccer game. So late last night I finally was able to sit at my desk and pull out some photos to work on. At least it's a start.

Checking in. Really didn't fall off the face of the earth. Did a 3 week road trip Florida to California, home 2 days and then 15 days on a cruise ship

Had a huge lunch out with Bill's sister in Miami, and even though we weren't hungry we had dinner out with friends in Miami last night. Then spent the night with them and went out to breakfast with them.

Had early dinner with friends in Ft. Lauderdale at a wonderful BBQ place and now we are headed home.

We live an hour from WDW and I have never been. Some day - I want to see Magic Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom.

Want to see Universal Studios. Have been in Singapore but not the one near my house.

I always tease my husband and tell him he never takes me anywhere.

Henri Jean, we kinda figured you were off on one of your many adventures! Welcome back!

I'm back as well. Last weekend was a bloody nightmare. I'll spare you the drama, you probably read it on another thread anyhow. Glad it's over, going to be glad when April is over... sheesh. What an insane month.

Did this tonight and now I'm working on some sobriety birthday cards for my 'sisters in sobriety' group I meet with on Wednesday.

Just got done uploading it to gallery...

Very nice work Kimberly! Cards are just so hard for me that I don't do them. Even though I love to receive them I just can't get into making them. I just get frustrated!

My happy place is 12 x 12 pages!

I thought we would be home for a while. Now ideas and things to do are swirling around. We have got two go back to Cancun for a week or two - they need 10 days to completely complete Bill's dental work we started last year. Bill's wants to do that when the turtles are laying eggs so we can walk on the beach at night and see them. Bill has seen them lay eggs before but I haven't. One time we went in hatching season and worked with the program. Bill was the official counter.

Back-up explanation - the eggs are dug up at night and put in nests in a protected area. That way seagulls don't get them as they are hatching making their way to the beach and people on the beach don't step on the nests. Left alone, even of the few that make it to the water, they float on the top of the water for 24 hours (swim on top) and seagulls eat most of them. They say about 1% actually make it past the first 24 hours.

With the protection program, the eggs are reburied in protected areas and nests are marked with the date they are supposed to hatch. Sometimes 10 nests due to hatch on the same day. The volunteers then dig up the nest to see if they are hatching as scheduled and if the nest is not active yet, they cover them back and we check other nests. When we find one that is actively starting to hatch, we dig them up and allow them to finish hatching for a few minutes.

Then the baby turtles are put in crates of 300 turtles each. Bill helps dig and so do I and put them in the crates - Bill is the counter, or was a few years ago. He counted over 1,700 one day. We love holding and helping the baby turtles.

Every morning at 6:30AM the volunteers had to be in the turtle corral or pen to help and make sure they are all collected for the day which takes 2 or 3 hours if there are a lot that day.

If any or left behind or come up after we leave, the seagulls will swoop into the corral and get them.

The crates are stored in a dark closet all day and as long as it is dark, the turtles will go right to sleep.

Then after dark the volunteers take the turtles and release them one or two at a time into the sea and watch to make sure he is on his way and not turned back toward the beach. That way they are heading out at night and the seagulls can't see them - they don't hunt for food over the water at night.

Then when morning comes, most are further out than the seagulls look because they are still swimming near the top of the water.

Gives the turtles a chance to get going far enough out before their predators get a chance to get them. After 24 hours their food supply which is attached to the bottom of their shells is pretty much depleted and they are forced to go deeper to find food. Then they aren't targets and their chance of survival is very good!

However, Bill really wants to go egg-laying season this time which is fine.

He's also picked out 2 more cruises for this year and we have one picked for next Jan, Feb and some of March.

Can't believe we got home at 11:30 last night and while I was unpacking, he was searching the internet for more cruises!

Hello Ladies! Ria and I will be hosting a Blinging Challenge here on BBD and on the Facebook Group Bodacious Blinging Divas!!!! I will also be hosting a challenge for NSD on Altered Whimseys! http://alteredwhimseys.blogspot.com . Today consisted of Dr.'s appointment, then nappage... Going to try to go to Bible study tomorrow, I need to get out and connect more. Also going to dinner with the girls tomorrow night for Sisters in Sobriety birthday night. Going to Old Spaghetti Factory.... ymmmmmmmm.

Great to see you back Henri Jean! Hope you get some downtime before your next adventure! The turtle hatching program sounds like so much fun...would love to do that.

I had good intentions of scrapping a few more pages this week but just did't get to it. I know I need to just make time to do it - I've been going to the Y 3-4 times a week lately and that takes up my entire morning - what used to be my scrapping time. Need to find a balance I guess.

We are heading out tonight for a soccer tournament this weekend in a town about 2 hours away. It should be a fun weekend - we have family nearby and used to live up there so we have plans to see family and some old friends as well, in addition to the 4 games of soccer.

At the crop. Just got a text from my husband. Apparently he is home shopping cruises online (he's always shopping cruises).

He said he found a cruise to Bermuda. Its an 8 day cruise and I've never been to Bermuda.

Its for May 19th so guess we are off and running again in a couple weeks. He booked it. Price was too good not to.

I finally got my Paris smashbook pages finished. Finding the paintings that I had liked in the museum took a lot of time. And then I got stuck on wikipedia reading about them. I really should take more photos. It would have saved me some trouble.
My tip after all of this: brown paper. It was fun to do the stamping and coloring on it, even though it was just a used paperbag.

And I found a bug in the scrapbook.com web-interface: If you add a non-standard character (like an é) to the title of an entry in your gallery, the link-button can't create an image code for sharing images on the board.
This happened in Chrome and I haven't tested it in any other browsers, but I suspect that since the image code generation happens on the server-side the browser will probably not matter.

Lost in Paris (Closed)

Out and about in Paris

Hi all... I got my loot today and so excited!!! I'm planning on holing myself up here in my room because right now I'm not fit to be around anyone. I don't react well to pain, and it's been going on two weeks and no end in sight. I'm on a high level painkiller, so I can't drive and take it at the same time. Ugh. Anyhow. I'm up here getting ready to work on projects.

Or did you do what I commonly find myself doing: pick a bit of everything that looks interesting and hope it'll fit together somehow? =)

The majority of stuff that I purchased was Heidi Swapp product. I have two HS planners that I am currently using and will be featuring planner art and creativity in one of my next blog posts. Another thing I got in my haul was a tab punch to make my own tab dividers.... SOOOO handy, especially for me now that I am Bible journaling and, just started an art journal. I am so thankful that my awful help hasn't sidelined my creativity.

This is the card for my grandmother.

And this is the one for my mom.

I have not done one single scrappy thing yet, I'm busy planning Jory's birthday party Friday night. Momma and Dad are taking Jory (and me) out to lunch Friday, then to the store for the ice cream. If I buy it too soon, it doesn't make it till the party. LOL Saturday is MY day. Sunday is Mother's Day, and I made it known that all I want for Mother's Day is to scrap Saturday. I'll have to take breaks to work my second job, but it'll be fine.

Happy NSD Eve, ladies!!! And Happy Anniversary, Kim! The iPod is adorable, I love it!!!

I'm up to get the carnitas started, then I'm going back to bed for a bit. Took the day off work to cook for Jory's party, and we are going to lunch with my folks later, then partying tonight with Mexican food.

That's a cute iPod. I love the inscription.

I had such a great first week at work, I think I'm seeing the world through rainbow-colored lenses at the moment.

My brett weldele stamps finally arrived a few days ago. I can't wait to see what crazy stuff I can come up with using them, but unfortunately the art room needs organizing because there's stuff all over the desk and on the floor.
Does anybody else have a clutter issue in their creative space too?

Angel-that convo with your DH is hilarious! Yeah he's totally right. My DH has quit asking what i'm shopping for because he knows the only thing I really ever buy is scrapbook supplies!

As far as clutter goes - my space is not too horrible compared to many other photos I've seen, but it's just because I tend to have less stuff than others. But my desk is relatively small and usually covered with stuff I've pulled out to use on an upcoming project. So I don't actually scrap in that room - I scrap at my dining room table - it has better light and a bigger space and I like to spread out. So pull out what I want to use and take it to the table, and at he end of the day move stuff back to the office. It's kind of a cumbersome process but it works for me. About one a month I organize and clean up in there just to get back on track.

Happy NSD everyone! My son has a couple of baseball games today but I hope to work on a little scrapping before and after that! Hope everyone has a fun day!

Karen - you have to keep an eye on your scrap stuff. It reproduces and multiplies when you aren't looking. I know this to be true.

Thanks Henri I sure will. Mysteriously it seems to reproduce and multiply even more when my DH isn't looking !
