Theresa - hope the bad weather stays away from your crop Friday night! I lived in Georgia and I can remember where once every 2 or 3 years weather shut everything down. Of course, in Atlanta - no one knows how to drive in the snow, and the few who do are in danger from all the people who don't know how.

Blanca - glad your computer is up! That is awesome. I'm lost without mine. When we are at my mothers for 4 or 5 days I miss it so much, but now with mobile hot spot, had computer at mom's house.

While I was in surgery a few days ago - before I went in I showed Bill how to use his mobile hot spot and he was able to play words with friends and check email while I was getting carved up. Was good for him. And the surgery was great for me - I really feel fantastic. So much better than before.

Going shopping this morning with Joe I think - if he is available and dinner out tonight with friends.

Henri, I know you were in pain, glad the surgery really helped.

Well, took the day off from working on the house. Art did, but I ran a lot of errands, tomorrow, I am going to a luncheon at the club house. It will be nice to be away from the home remodeling.

Theresa, hope you don’t get snow. I called my neighbor yesterday, and they have not have any yet.

Waving hi to everyone else.

GRRRRRR just lost another post!

Joe came over and we watched another episode of Hawaii Five-0 and then Joe and I talked for about 3 hours. We talked about him growing up and when he lived with his father for a while and so many things. I really really enjoyed the time we had together. I'm looking forward to going shopping and running errands with him tomorrow.

Is nice to sit down and have a one on o e conversation with our grown kids, especially when they are so busy with their lives. So much better than a text or quick phone call.

Enjoy your time with him tomorrow.

Thanks Blanca - you are right! I treasure the time we spent together last night. We talked about his childhood, times we were separated and he lived with his dad and how unhappy he was living in California, we talked about how poor we were when it was just me and Joe and his brother trying to make it - kind of us against the world when I was single and raising an 18 month old and a 3 1/2 year old. We talked about Joe's dreams and goals when he graduates. Really a special time for us last night.

Greetings from a very cold KY. 19 this morning when I went to the dentist. Has warmed up to 40 but the air is bitter. Went and got my hair cut and colored today. Looks great! Can't get a decent photo but posted one on FB and I'll try to link it below. Normally too frugal to pay for my hair and guess it shows. She spent 2-1/2 hours on me today and only cost $65. I feel like I've been cheating myself for years on getting it to look nice now, LOL.

https://scontent-atl3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/50086321_...

Looks like we're definitely going to get something tonight but it's going to depend on the temperatures if it's rain, ice or snow.

Good morning! Sunny but a little cool. We are supposed to get rain, we will see.

Theresa, your hair looks nice! Like the color and highlights. I never do anything to my hair. Only colored it once in 20’s and ended up cutting my hair because I did not like it. I swore I would never do it again.

I am too old to start now. Because I have curly unruly hair, I really don’t bother with it. It has a mind of it s own.

Art is hard at work mudding some more and I am taking the day off. I am tired of it.

Henri, enjoy your shopping!

Your hair looks amazing Theresa - love the cut and the color! I can't imagine anyone being so reasonably priced - you found someone good who charges fairly. A great combination but hard to find.

Love the photo clock in the background behind you too.

Had a great day Blanca. Doctor's appointment this morning then lunch with a girlfriend - such a fun 2 1/2 hours, then Joe picked me up at the restaurant and we took off running. Got so much done! I have so much fun with Joe - can't believe he is going back to school on Sunday.

awww, thanks! Had several say the hair style makes me look younger. Funny too because I had to go to a funeral visitation last night and ran into two women that recognized me from high school. They knew me right away and both said I looked just like I did in high school. I had the old hair last night. I had no idea who they were, thought they were older than me, turns out they were both younger! The new style might make me look even younger than high school!

Blanca, I saw the clock design online somewhere and ordered the phrase and clock face from Amazon. Could have cut the design myself but where ever I found it was really cheap and figured my time was worth more. The little frames are $1 frames. Took me FOREVER to get it on the wall straight. I even used string on a nail to get the clock arms straight and still had trouble. Can't tell you how many holes I had to spackle, LOL. I love it now though. Really easy to change the photos out.

Well our weather said we were going to get snow starting at 5 and then turn to freezing rain/ice so I cancelled my crop. Snow started around 8:30 and it's sleeting now. We have about 1/2 inch of snow. Northern parts of the county are still getting snow but Greenville is on the line where it's going between snow/freezing rain. Probably be a slippery mess by morning. Randy doesn't have to go to work til 11 and I'm staying in all day. Did scrap here at the house and got more done than if I'd went to the crop because I didn't have anyone to talk too, LOL. I'll get photos loaded up tomrrow, too tired now.

Hello You all,
even though the day was quite chilly, -15 this am, but now about 8 and dropping. Darn Canada, they should not share so much winter weather.

Today was our monthly scrap gathering. We had so much fun together, we laugh a lot, get some scrapping done, exchange ideas and tools. Today we decided to call us the "PG's" popular girls as none of us were and don't care, but just a fun crazy thing to do. I made 2 layouts and 3 cards. I am beginning to like making "simple cards" to go with my "simple layouts".

Tomorrow I think I will finish getting my new tablet finished being set up the way I want. My old one works very good but I just wanted a new one.

My surgery went extremely well. My small intestines are healing nicely, my color is better and not so tired all the time. Last night I slept 8 1/2 hours---wow. It has been so long being sick I didn't know what it felt like to feel great. I am even smiling a lot now. We all celebrated last night with pizza, chicken wings onion rings, yummy junk food. My dd's family and us had a great time. The girls are so fun.

Well I have to go so I can find some snack to eat for dinner. I am not very hungry just a little. Take care talk soon Linda

Linda that's great news!!!!! LOL over PG title, we used Calendar Girls as our name at 2P's and there were just a few that would have been considered a real calendar girl.

Uploaded three layouts that I did last night.

We didn't get really anything from the "winter storm" Snowed some but not even 1/2 inch, freezing rain but then thankfully just rain that cleared it all away already by 10:30 this morning.

Linda, wonderful news!! Hope and pry you keep getting stronger as time goes by.

Oh how I miss my crops with my friends. So much fun, even we did not get much done.

We had a lo of rain today, but we ended up going to an RV show to met some friends that RV full time and are here on a rally. We meet every year. We used to be neighbors and co workers. After retirement, they left CA and now spend about 10 months on the road. I know I could not do that!

Linda you sound so amazing! I was so worried about you and it sounds like you are better than ever! And best of all, it sounds like you are really happy and enjoying life!

Glad you day went wall Blanca. I don't blame you at all. I don't want to RV for 10 months. I don't want to RV for 10 days. I want a nice hotel with a private shower that is normal size - not an RV shower or community park shower - but my own normal shower. I want to eat in restaurants but I don't want to cook or clean house on the road.

To me, that is not a vacation at all!

Joe goes back to school tomorrow. I am so unhappy about that - won't see him until spring break, and we may not even be here. I think we are going to try to go to Hawaii in February, not sure. We take military hops so we never know until a day or two before we try to get on the plain because flights are not announced more than 72 hours out.

Bill is getting itchy for another cruise and can't find one that looks interesting.

I am Asia'd out forever and right now, I'm South Pacific'd out for a while. Don't know where I would want to go. Could do Europe, Mediterranean or Australia again.

Theresa, you do look young.

We had to make a trip to Tehachapi and we came to snow ad rain!
Why did I let Art talk me into coming. The weather was cool in Palm Springs, but nothing compared to here.

Besides the nasty drive, nothing new here, and I guess that is a good thing.

Blanca, we stopped and camped there once next to a small airfield there. Two things I remember was a huge windmill area, and a paved grid of streets, like a small housing area. All the plots were weedy. It just looked weird. I looked on Google Earth and nothing looked as I remember.

Also I finally had my BCG treatment and it was a snap. It didn't hurt and I don't have any of the after effects I was led to believe would happen. I do have 5 more treatments.

Don, do your ember what year that was? Tehachapi has grown a lot in the last few years. You probably stoped by the local municipal airport.

Glad your treatment went well. Hopefully the next five will go dry smoothly. Prayers!

Have been in the road ALL day! And we had rain all the way. And all this because the stupid motor home. Sorry, but I just do t lime I. I know and accept the rack that I am not a supportive wife.

Almost ho e, Thank God,

Hello all, some of you may remember me from other groups, looking for a nice scrapbook group to join in on. For those of you who don't know me, I have been paper crafting since 2003 in earnest... I was a dabbler, and then when my husband bought me a copy of Creating Keepsakes after my grandmother sent me this huge box of photos, well, I was hooked.

I also make cards, and Bible journal, as well as planner stuff and mixed media... you might call me an all around paper crafter. I also write a crafty and self care blog http://theduchessofsassyt own.blogspot.com. I've been a panel member on the Storyline product launch for Heidi Swapp, and have been a scrapbook instructor at a prominent scrapbook store (which unfortunately folded after the big scrapbook crash of 09). You can also find me on Instagram @theduchessofsassytown.

On a personal level, I'm a happy homemaker with no kids, married to my sweetheart since 97 and I'm a woman of faith, a fierce friend, and total scifi geek.

I'm just here looking to make friends and a nice place to hangout and talk shop (scrapbooking) .

morning peeps... Welcome Kim.

Theresa - love, love your new hair... you look fab - but you always did
Linda - wow, you do sound wonderful! So glad the surgery went well for you. You sound so lighthearted and delightful. Keep it all up
Bianca - yeah, don't know if I could do all that traveling in an RV. Thought years ago maybe I would like to do that, now I'm not so sure.
Don - Yeah for you! I hope the next five treatments go as well.
Henri Jean - Tired of Asia??? LOL. I guess you do need a break from there then. Hawaii in February does sound wonderful though

All the same here...except the woman I worked directly under got moved to another school (a teacher left, so she's taking her spot) ...so far it's been really nice, although very, very busy. Joanns hours have been drastically cut, so I'm down to like three days a week...
no complaints here, at least until the check comes, LOL.
But I've been able to sort things out at school, and go through things since she'll be taking a lot of stuff with her,
so I've grabbed some copies of things and stuff like that.

Speaking of which, I need to get going.
Hope everyone has a super day.
Hi Nylene and Tina - miss you guys/girls rather.

Good to see you Kimberly! Used to see you around the boards quite a bit! Glad to know you are still scrapping!

Toni - there are some places in Asia I really do love Singapore and next time I'm in China I want to go to the panda sanctuary and pay a ridiculous amount of money (about $275.00 for 10 minutes) and hold a baby panda. Top of my bucket list and Bill has agreed to it.

But in general - given a choice, I've had enough Asia. I enjoy Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Greece, South Pacific, Caribbean, Netherlands, Scotland, Ireland, St. Petersburg and other places in the Baltic, Norway up to the Polar Ice Cap and other places a lot more and so does Bill. Also tired of Arab countries like Dubai and Oman and Abu Dhabi, although I love Cairo and Karnak in Egypt, think I have had enough of those too.

We are both kind of tired of South America but Bill does want us to go into the Amazon once - haven't done that yet.

Think Hawaii in February fell apart. Not sure. I was getting all my medical things done from mid January to Mid February, then we were going to be free to hit the road and take off travelling again. Hawaii - and from there, we don't know where.

However, I was scheduled next Wednesday for my first cataract surgery and then a week or two later for the second one. Last Friday I had a stent put in my veins inside my upper thigh. Went for pre-of and when they found I just had the stent put in, they cancelled the cataract surgery for 3 months.

So I have add vein stent, one ablation treatment and have two more ablation treatments. We both have our annual skin cancer check ups just to make sure. Never had a problem, don't want one, but if there is one, we want to catch it early.

Also have blood work and our semi-annual physicals and Bill has an appointment early Feb to have his pacemaker recorded and monitored in office and then goes back for visit with cardiologist. His battery _pacemaker) is running low and he has to see when he needs a new one. I think his was at 2.8% left end of February and they won't change it until it is about 1.3% - and I may have the numbers way off. Just know he was hoping to do that in early Feb if its down low enough so they can do it. They won't do it unless it is really low - but once it gets that low, its still good for 90-120 days and they change them in that grace period - not before.

I anticipated everything would be done - my vein ablations and cataract surgeries would be good for life, Bill's pacemaker would be good for 7 or 8 years again, skin care check up would be done for another year and we would be doctor appointment free.

Not so. Now the stupid cataract surgery will be around April. So we will have to wait until then before we travel again, or go somewhere for just 2 months and we don't like being limited like that. I could postpone the cataract surgery until we come back, but I'm very tired of trying to see with these cataracts.

Greetings all!

Don, glad to hear the first treatment went so well, prayers that the others do too.

Kimberly, we're happy to have you join us. I do remember you vaguely from 2P's I think. Might be just from here, I don't remember anything anymore!

Toni, glad the new boss is working out. I hear ya on happy to work less til the check comes in!

Henri, sorry about the cancelled surgery and then the traveling too.

Blanca, my dad used to want to travel in a RV. I might be able to because I do like to set my own schedule but I'm also one that prefers to stay in a nice hotel and I'm not one for RV showers, LOL. It would beat the pop up camper we used to take places though, it leaked it in the rain.

Headed to Lexington this weekend, quite excited but that means I won't be checking in here for a few days. Supposed to get a full day of snow in KY on Saturday and then be bitter cold Sunday and Monday. May end up staying in Lexington until Monday if it snows too much. Right now I have clients scheduled but I can reschedule them til the next week if I need to.

Theresa, please drive safely in this weather! Its nasty in so much of the country.

I think it is in the high 40's - low 50's today but this weekend its supposed to get really cold. Okay - it going to get really cold for central Florida. Quiet laughing. I don't take the cold well and neither does Bill. We usually run away every winter.

I had three crazy days. It’s time for it slow down.

Since iit rain all day yesterday,we could not work on the house, today was really cloudy, but no rain. Hoping it’s better tomorrow.

Safe travels Theresa!

Toni, so nice to see you back. Is it a good thing that you are not working that much at JoAnn’s? I have been avoiding that store, because every time I go, I spend money that’s I do not Need to spend.

Linda and Don, hope you guys are feeling betterthese days.

Henri, too bad about the eye surgery, I know you were looking forward to start traveling again.

I would like to know what it feels to be tired of Asia and The Arab countries! Like I have said before, you are a lucky lady.

Waiving Hito Tena and Nylene!

Welcome Kimberly.

We will probably go on to Hawaii in February, just have to be back in 2 months or prolong the surgery longer. I really want it over with. Tired of blurred vision and tired of keeping up with glasses.

Cleaning crew just left. Felt like wrapping my husband around a tree. They speak Spanish only (few words of English so I can communicate with them) but they do a fabulous job and today was a big deep cleaning.

They started the townhouse (Joe's house which is very small and not used much - only when he is home for school break at 5AM and did the guest house which is one room, and then our house.

I like to be gone so they can work.

Bill likes to follow them around and talk to them in Spanish and it really slows them down. They are nice about it but they would rather get their work done - they have two more houses to do this afternoon.

Anyway, they were to do our main house at 7AM and Bill scheduled cable guy for 8:00AM. He had to tear our house apart - or the living room completely to get behind the tv in the entertainment section. Then he was all in the attic and running cables through the living room. What a pain!

They saved the living room until last because the cable guy was in there and still, he had cables and junk everywhere and the entertainment system pulled apaert while they were trying to clean.

Getting ready to get the second leg ablanted soon. Tipsy because I have to take 3 valiums in the 2 hours previous to surgery - one at 2 hours, one at one hour and one at 30 minutes.

I don't take drugs and even with one down, I'm not walking to good. Two more and I'll be a basket case but that is what they want. They only use lidocaine for the surgery so they want you completely loopy so you won't care what they are doing and the blood won't freak you out.

Worked for the one 3 days ago so guess it will again today.

Then only one more ablation treatment and I'm done. I may do some cosmetic vein surgery later - will see if its needed after all of this.

Hi, friends!
Welcome Kimberly. We are happy to have you join us.
Your VW card is really cute.

Things have been busy here, but I've decided that's how life is going to be forever. My knee is really getting bad and I need the replacement but have so many things to consider. It will leave DH without any transportation and we are committed to lead our Addiction Recovery groups until Aug. I am hoping to hang on until then.

Henri, I can't imagine being tired of Asia. We have only been there once to visit DD, but except for the cold, we loved every minute. You guys have been just about every place in the world. I hope you have a great Hawaii trip. Glad your surgery went well.

Toni, how is your knee after the replacement? I'm glad things are good at school. Our JoAnn's has lots of fabric customers, but you don't see many people in the crafty sections. How are your kids doing?

Blanca, I am sorry that the RV-ing has been a bit like you thought it would. I'd hate it because I would have to drive the big 'ole thing! How are the little boys?

Theresa, you will always look like a teenager! I love your cut and color. I've finally given in and colored mine. I was getting enough gray that it was really mousy. My hairdresser of 30 years went on a 18 month mission with her husband. How dare she leave me??? Take care in the snow and tell Randy hello for me.

Don and Linda, I am thrilled to know that you are both doing so well. I hope the next 5 treatments are as easy as the last one, Don. Linda, it makes my heart so happy to see you posting happy things. You had me really worried!

Tina has been posting a bit over at 2peasrefugees so she is doing well. They had a great trip to Orlando.
Waving hello, Tina, if you are here.

I am having a hard time getting much scrapping done. A page now and then is about all I do. I miss it. I thought retirement was supposed to be LEISURE! LOL.

Gotta run! Have a great weekend, everyone.

Nylene, so nice to see you pop in. My gypsy boys are getting so big. They both played soccer and they liked it. Kellan is playing basketball now and loving it. My son said he is a much better player at basketball than soccer.

Cody is still doing his karate. He is in school now.

I hope none of you are affected by the snow storms. If you are, be safe and stay warm.

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Hello Everybody,
I am so happy to be able to POP in this afternoon. It is always nice to meet new friends for me. Glad to meet you Kim.

Nice to see you also Nylene, hopefully your knee will hold up until your obligations are completed. My husband has a knee replacement and it went so well, while his sister pampered herself for weeks and she has problems with hers.

Gee Henri, I would love to have the travel bug and freedom to be able to travel the world over and over. Good for you, but I would like to go to Hawaii with you, maybe someday. Good luck on all your medical issues.

We have everything ready for the snowstorm heading our way tonight into Sunday. Up to 20" will fall, hopefully less but we won't get any freezing rain. Then the C-O-L-D comes in, way below zero and I will be staying in for sure. The granddaughters are out riding the snow mobiles this afternoon before the big storm hits. Alexis is very good handling her machine at 12 and weighing 78 lbs.

Hey Don I am so happy for you that things went so well for you. I have been fighting this anemia problem almost 4 years and the infusions weren't working. Now that the unexpected surgery into my small intestines was so successful I feel like my old self will return in 3-4weeks. I will find out what my numbers are next Wednesday. Wish me luck

I went out this afternoon for a few hours to spend time with my daughter's family. I love being around them as they are happy, uplifting Godly family with sound values. They make me feel so good when I am there.

I must close for now and hope to pop in again soon. Take care everybody and have a great week.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. Good to see you again Henri. I don't know who does IG here but there is some amazing papercrafting gorgeousness being posted for Creativation out in Phoenix, AZ. If you have Instagram you need to follow that feed to see the best and brightest for all the new paper and DIY collections this year. American Crafts is really kicking it up with new paper lines by Amy Tangerine and Lisa Boutin! And Heidi Swapp, that girl is off the hook this year.

I think my favorite new paper designers have been Viv & Ella. I find myself constantly buying their papers to scan and use digitally. THe color is so full and rign and they aren't too frou-frou for me. They just look rich and expensive and the colors are bold. I seem to buy more of theirs than anything. I never even heard of it a few years ago.

The only place I see it is here in the store on this site.

So many gorgeous papers - Now way can I use it all in this lifetime but I'm having fun trying!

Made it home, girls didn't want me to leave but still haven't won that lottery! Ice hit KY again last night along with some snow. Nothing like some are getting, 4" here, 2 in Lexington. Powdery snow over ice, not fun. It was 9 degrees overnight too. Did get up to the "warm" temperature of 14. We played outside for a very short time! Randy ended up going (separate car) but he had to come home early Saturday morning so he could work. The temps on the road warmed up so the main roads were pretty good. However, I came home around 5 tonight to a solid sheet of ice on my driveway--slid driving in, slid twice with snow boots on trying to get inside the house. Temperatures are going down further tonight so everything that has melted on the roads will freeze again. Driveway should have been shoveled today and salt placed--would have been had I been home. Randy didn't even think about doing it before he went to work this afternoon. Needless to say, I won't be driving to Hopkinsville in the morning. Already rescheduled all but one visit that's here in Greenville. Could have stayed another day with the kids, darn! Oh well, I can get some rest, they wore me out. Benjamin is furniture walking or he'll push the walker (won't ride in it) all over the house and he discovered Nana's fingers were great to walk with so I've spent the last two days bent over walking a 10 month old everywhere. Got some cute photos to scrap and had a wonderful time!

Sounds like you had a wonderful visit Theresa - what fun! I remember the days of walking around with a pre-toddler holding on to my fingers. Those day go by way too quickly.

Careful in that snow and ice - I don't know how to drive in it so I would be terrified to try to manage in it!

Linda, I hope your numbers come back positive for you.
My procedure came out great, so I have no problem looking to my next 5 procedures.
I have taken to re-reading my book collections, so I am not doing anything in my studio. Can't seem to do both.
I was going to watch the eclipse, but I had my nose in a book. Understand, I have 2 skylights right above my desk, and I still didn't see it.

Don I did see it, and I am glad I did, I missed to solar eclipse last year. Art took pictures with his camera, I FaceTiming with a friend that had surgery and could not go outside, so Art took out his video camera so she could see it.

What are you reading? I just started the sixth book on the Clifton chronicles by Jeffery Archer. First time reading his books, and I like his style.

Congratulations on your treatments going well.

Theresa, glad you made it home safe! I bet you had a great time with the grandkids. I am missing my gypsy boys so much. I have not seen them or even faced time with them in six weeks, I never go this long.

Glad you did not have to be on the road today. I always wonder how you guys do it. You guys get so much more snow than we do. I guess if you have lived in it your whole life you are used to it.

Have a headache that won’t go away.

I thought the eclipse was great - really did turn red. It was awesome!

V tech driver By Theresa TSC

Scrapped a tiny bit last night, was going to do more but ended up on the phone with a friend that went down to Waco TX for vacation.

Ice was still here in a lot of places this morning but it warmed up to the high 40's and melted almost all of it. Supposed to start raining tonight and rain for about 24 hours, that should take care of the remaining snow if the temperature stays up.

Not sure who mentioned the snow we get, we're not used it to. We normally don't get much in Kentucky. That's why everyone goes crazy. They called school off the last two days. Not just my county either, all the surrounding ones. The country roads have a lot of tree cover so the sun can't melt it. We don't have the snow removal equipment or even enough road crew staff to clear the roads. State doesn't want to invest because they figure no more than we get it wouldn't be cost efficient. I'm thinking this is several years in a row that we've got this much, they need to start investing! Figure they'll have school tomorrow but may be on a delay. I'm in the county working tomorrow and don't have to go to anyone's place that is way out. Today was rough early this morning but this afternoon was fine.

Didn't see the eclipse either. Was too tired to stay up til 11 and it was only 9 degrees at that time. The moon would have been directly above my house, no window would have worked and I wasn't about to go out there in all that snow/ice! My sister took some good photos. I've seen one before but it was years ago. Lunar eclipses last longer than solar ones.

I mentioned the snow. I thought you guys got a lot.

Select most of the day sanding the walls, and now I think I am getting sick. Yesterday I had a headache all day, and today, I had all the windows open while I sanded and it was cold and windy. Took a shower and I can not warm up at all. That is exactly how Rosie, my sil, who lives with us started when she got sick. I can not afford to get sick right now I just want to get this mudding and painting done.

Oh yes Theresa, I had sanded everything very nice, husband decided to give another coat and all my sanding between the ceiling and the wall is a mess! I told him he will do the sanding I did the walls today and will probably finish tomorrow.

I do all the painting, so I know that all the imperfections will show up with the paint. He tells me, “don’t worry, the primer will cover it, it says it does”. Yes, it will cover stains or darker paint but no imperfections I give him a lot of credit, because he knows how to do a lot of things, but it makes me mad, when he thinks I don’t know what I am talking about.

Don, are you paying attention?

P

LOL, Blanca, you're right, imperfections do show even with a primer--silly man! BTW, we got our statement today. Thanks, but you didn't have to send one, the online thing would have been enough but it'll be a good reminder to put in the bill drawer for the final payment date.

Don--we call it "selective listening" around here when Randy claims to not hear something!

I survived another day of sanding, and I must say it went a lot better, only because I decided that I would spare my husband’s life after all, he does all the work. Just kiddin! No, I decided, that instead of fighting the wall, I was going to befriend it. I sanded from top to bottom, every inch of it, wether it needed it or not, and that made the job so much easier. I think, and hope I can be done tomorrow. I did tell Art, IF, we ever do this again, (the bathroom) he better listen to me! I showed him how he double and triple worked, when he did not have to, just because he wanted to prove me wrong, an and in turn, I sanded all his freaking hard work away. He was quiet! But did did not acknowledged that I was right, and you know what that means I AM RIGHT! Thank you very much! I must say I am doing a good job. Never too late for an old dog to learn a new trick!

Don, as long as you give credit, were credit is due, the queen will be happy!

Hello, I love catching up with all of you. I get to laugh sometimes and that is great medicine for everybody. Don, I sure am "hard" of hearing, or, selective hearing. My King hasn't caught on yet, we say at our age we don't hear as well.

Blancia, all the hard work and being a perfectionist definitely shows in the end. The beautiful smooth walls are worth being fussy. My husband Rene is just like you, if he sees a dot he doesn't like, he is back at it fixing it.

We did get a lot of snow, up to 18" and it was so beautiful. Then yesterday we had freezing rain. Our drive way if so thick and the truck has a lot of ice on it also. The snow still stands, but an unusual event was the SCHOOLS were all closed in the north country. That is so rare, but the ice was bad. My granddaughters liked it, but the knuckleheads love school and would rather be there!!

My best news to share is, yesterday I put on my computer and "bam" all my mail from everybody was there, all 438 of them. I was so excited and sb.com had fixed their problem with me. Yeah, now I am complete. The Joy of seeing everybody's beautiful cards, layouts, projects etc. I am just soooooo happy.

Time for a nice cup of coffee and watch the local news.

Good morning. Just a quick stop in and I'm off to the doctor with Bill. Sweet of him to spend his 70th birthday morning at the doctor with me.

Then dinner out with friends at our favorite restaurant (I'm having shrimp and grits I think) and then back here for dessert.

Glad scrapbook.com saved everything or revived it for you Linda! I would be doing a happy dance! And it sounds like you are too.

In Georgia they closed all the schools at first snowflake. Seems we had just a very light dusting one year and four college kids were killed in a car accident when their car hit some ice and went sideways off the road and since then, they close all the schools. Better to be safe than have another tragic accident like that.

Joe goes to Sarasota for college and loves every minute of it. When we had Hurricane Irma 2 years ago he was so upset over the school closing. He wanted to go back every day - loves school so much he was really upset the school closed.

Then he constantly worried about the school being damaged or things being ruined.

He couldn't wait to get back in class and see that everything was okay. He just loves his school so much.

He really enjoyed being home for Christmas break but couldn't wait to go back and start learning the new software they were starting to use this semester - Cinema Four. Think it is one that Disney uses. He is just learning so much and studies day and night. Hopefully it will pay off in a good career for him.

Hello Henri, Happy Birthday to Bill. 70 years young, it is just a number these days. Celebrate you to kids!!

I had very good news this evening when the mail came. I did receive a letter from my Dr. from Dartmouth hospital and I am soooo happy. MY number is finally up to 10, I prayed so hard that the surgery worked, it was worth the pain and hopeful to look forward some kind of normalness.

Tomorrow is Taco night at my daughter's house. We are all getting together for a great Mexican food night. I don't know everything that will be served, but I don't eat Mexican. I will bring my own food. I will take photos and try to make some festive pages.

Well the deep cold is coming back, below zero for sure. We had an ice storm but it wasn't bad, schools were closed and they put so much salt/sand on the roads. Rene's truck looks terrible, a brand new truck and he is so fussy. Oh well the joy of winter. Got to go, I will catch up later

Hello everyone - Linda it is so awesome to hear you sounding so good and upbeat. Makes me smile to see how much better you are feeling. And such good news too!

Went out to dinner for Bill's birthday with 2 other couples. Then brought them here for dessert. One couple brought lemon meringue pie and the other brought gourmet cupcakes, and the restaurant had already given us key lime pie. We are on sugar overdose!

I am so glad Bill had a great evening with you and friends. Oh my a sugar rush for sure, but it is worth every bite.

I need to get to the store early this morning as my granddaughter Alexis had a request for me to make some cookies for tonight. She love the Peanut Butter Blossoms, so do I. It won't take long for me to whip up a batch and I buy a bit more Hershey kisses and I love plain old chocolate---yes I am a REAL chocolaholic.

talk later

We really did eat yesterday Don - and WAY too many sweets! And I have too many sweets in the house.

Some homemade cookies (chocolatate chip and also frosted banana that I made - all still good). I have about /14 of a cherry cheesecake in the refrigeratlr that I made, 1/4 of a scratch chocolate cake, 5 huge gourmet cupcakes and 1/4 of a lemon meringue pie. Not to mention all the bags of Oreos and other cookies and candy.

I've told Bill not to buy any more cookies or candy and bring it home. We don't need it. Plus, I love to bake so I like baking my own cookies and things.

He brought a pre-made deli apple pie home last month - whole thing is in the freezer in the deli box. I doubt we ever eat it - I would rather make my own. I just can't serve the pre-made stuff to guests and the two of us will never thaw it out and eat it.

Oh well. We have our blood tests and sugar tests every 3 months and we are both real good but I guess we'd better watch it.

Greetings all!

Linda hurray for the good numbers and the correction of your account!

Henri, tell Bill happy birthday!

Waving hi to all!

Going to Bowling Green today to look for a new printer. Have to have an all in one (need a fax for work) and want something to print the occasional photo. We've had Epson's for years and have usually had great results but this last one we bought (2 years maybe ago) has just sucked the ink up so fast it's costing us a fortune to run it. Went to Sams last week to get some new ink and it would have cost $90! That was a pack of all the colors and an XL black but it's not lasting long enough to justify that cost. Printers don't cost that much! The individual color packs are now at $17 a piece for the color ones and hard to find without buying the big pack so we end up with a lot of extra yellow and not enough cyan. Annoying! Anyhoo we're going to look today. I've been online doing some research but don't feel any smarter than I did before I started.

Other than that nothing but work going on. It's bitter cold here and expected to get colder before the week finishes but it's also the anniverary of that massive ice storm we had in 2009 that shut the state down for almost 3 weeks so I'll take the cold and little bit of snow over it any day!

Hello! Have not checked in a while.

Finished all the sanding!! Yay! Omg, I thought I was never going to finish. Glad is done.

Yesterday, I spend the whole day cleaning and cleaning all the dust from top to bottom. I just have to finish the windows and I can start priming the walls.

Theresa, I don’t think is the printer, I think the ink carriages don’t have enough ink in then. I even went an office supply store, and it was dried up in a couple of days. Now I just take the empty cartilages to Costco and get them filled. I usually pay about $45.00 for about 6 carriages, and the ink lasts a long time.

Theresa - I have a HP 3-in-1 - its the 3rd one I've had in about 20 years. I love them.

My cartridges seem to last forever but I am very picky - only use the HP cartridges and ink. Bill has suggested getting them filled but I want no part of it - I have the HP cartridges with HP ink and the cartridges I have now - I've had for at least 3 years and they all work great.

I don't buy mine in color packs - I buy just the colors I need. Seems it was blue that I bought 2 or 3 years ago - maybe black too but I don't print that much so it lasts forever. When I do print, seems to be mostly documents that are mostly black.

Only buy my cartridges at Staples or Office Depot - I've had no trouble with them ever drying out. A couple of my colors are probably 5 years old and still working great.

I normally get 3-5 years out of a cartridge.

Blanca - so glad you are finished with the sanding. What a job, but it is going to look way better than professional when it is done because it will be perfect! So worth it. But I know you will be so glad when it is painted and you new furniture is in place!

I think I probably use the printer a lot more than you do Henri! Randy and I both have to print a ton of stuff work related. The old printer we used to have was awesome but we finally wore it out. I think the newer ones are made cheaply and just don't last as long. We've tried to find individual ink cartridges but they don't have them anywhere in stores. Found them on amazon that I could order individually but it costs more. We looked today and couldn't find anything that I felt was good so ended up finding the combo ink cartridge at this Sams for $66 instead of the $88 it was at the Evansville one (their tax is higher in Indiana too). I'm going to do some more research and start watching for sales.

Blanca, no Costco here!

My printer usage used to be very very high - in real estate, I was always printing off 500 copies of flyers for houses and one night I made over 12,000 copies - however, those days are long gone. Now I rarely print.

Even when I printed high volume, cartridges lasted forever though. Now they last years and years and years!

I've bought the combo ink cartridges once and they really lasted for years until I got around to using them all but I think that was for a previous printer.

Great price at Sams for $66. At one time I was paying $129 a color for my last printer because it took 2 different size cartridges so I sprung for the bigger one. I ran that thing non-stop and it was nothing to make 500 flyers and sometimes have 2 or 3 different house to make them for. Once I had 35 listings - and made booklets for each house to go inside about 30 pages each with school info and things. Then I made 30 or 40 of those at a time. And the 500 flyers to put in the homes and distribute to other agents for all 35 listings.

There was a service that would take all our papers and charged per flyer and they put them in the mailboxes of every agent in the area you requested so I had to have 1,000 copies of everything I gave them to deliver and I had all my house listing put in the boxes of 1,000 agents! Boy, did I go through copy paper! A case every time I blinked. Now I buy one case every 2 or 3 years and give part of it to Joe!

I was on the extremely high usage - but now you are right, I really don't print much anymore.

Good morning scrappy friends!

I hope you all had a nice weekend! I was at a crop for the weekend and it was a fun time. I got somewhere around 25 pages done (I scrap pretty slow). I wasn't exactly on task the whole time either.

Olivia came on Friday night and had dinner with me since the hotel is right near her apartment and she wanted free food. Mallory came down from college on Saturday for dinner and ended up staying the night at my hotel because the weather got bad while she was there. I thought it was sweet of her to come hang out with me when I'm sure she had more fun things to do on campus.

They have another crop in March, so I'm going to see about going again, but I need to talk to the hubby because I'm also out of town for work a couple of times in March.

He is flying out tomorrow to go pick up a car. A teenager hit his car while it was parked on the street in front of our house last month. The insurance company initially attempted to fix it and then ended up totaling it out. He just bought a 3 year old BMW on Ebay, so he's flying out to Little Rock to pick it up. I think it's about an 8 hour drive back, so he preferred that to shipping it.

Anywho, I hope that all of you have a nice start to your week. I need to get moving, I have a pretty busy day today, so need to get moving.

Tina

Sounds like your crop went great Tina - what fun! And 25 pages is quite an accomplishment.

Had vein surgery on both legs today - 4th ablation process and today was the first time they did 2. They have me take Valium before the treatments so I've taken 4 Valiums. WHEEEEEE!

I'm pretty loopy right now so excuse spelling and errors. Or things that make no sense whatsoever.

Will know on Wednesday if this is the last treatment but they all though it would be - depends on what the ultra sound shows on Wednesday though.

Also got good news. We went in for skin checkup - we do that every year just to make sure no nasties are starting to show up and she freezes out stuff that we don't like but isn't pre-cancerous or anything. Two little spots on BIll's face, a few on his back and one on my back and a few on my shoulder that I don't but they aren't a problem, we just didn't like them.

Anyway, she found one spot on the back of my leg - very small was wasn't really concerned, but to be safe, she did a biopsy. Got word today that its fine - not cancerous, precancerous or anything else. Just a spot that I never even noticed.

Bill had one spot on his backside where he couldn't see it but I had noticed it and mentioned it. She didn't like the looks of it and did a biopsy. His hasn't come back yet. She said his was eczema, psoriasis, or early cancer spot - very early and if that is the case, will be easy to just cut off. Its the size of a dime but skin isn't raised at all. Mostly likely though, its not cancer and nothing to worry about.

So hopefully he will get his good news report soon.

Hello everybody,
Theresa, I also was having the same problem with ink. I use my printer often and it seemed like one color would run out before the others etc. etc. It was an expensive problem.

I have ink from a mail order service and pay by the month by the amount of paper I plan to print. You can pick any plan and for me it is perfect. I never run out of ink and the quality is beautiful, better than Wal-Mart, Cosco, etc. In three months I have paid less than 1 cartridge.

We are getting ready for another snow storm coming in tomorrow thru Thurs. morning 6-10 inches, we are always on the high side. That is ok, but that bitter cold is not as wind chills drops the temp. way below zero----YIKES!!

Have a great few days, talk later

That sounds like a great service Linda - I've neve heard of buying ink by the month. Great that they offer different plans too.

For us now, I buy the color as I need it and its been years since I needed any of them. If we print more than 5 or 6 pages in a month, its unusual and I never print pictures or anything colorful.

If we travel we print airline tickets, sometimes cruise tickets and Bill occasionally will print out his instructions for a secret shopper assignment.

And we never use our fax anymore. Had our home phone taken out so couldn't if we wanted to.

However scanning - Oh boy, do I use the scanner. Not unusual for me to scan several hundred things in one week.

I scanned 3,000 sheets of scrapbook paper in 4 section - that alone was 12,000 scans. Then I keep scanning more patterned paper as I get it an embellies and pictures. I'm surprised I haven't completely worn out the scanner.

I also have a portable scanner for trips and I"m surprised I haven't worn it out too.

I do have a scrapbook sized scanner too and I use it for some papers but for the most part, it has trouble with pastels - if something has bright blue and pastel blue in the print - the pastel blue will be white. But if the whole page is vivid with color, then the big one does fine. I probably use the big one about 20% of the time because it washes out pastels.

I wouldn't give the big one up, but wouldn't buy another one either. I would look for a better brand and better quality although scanners that will do scrapbook paper size are so expensive, the one I got for Christmas was the affordable one - huge price jump (thousands of dollars) to the next level of quality.

Imho, Epson has the best ink jet photo series printer/scanner units. They also have individual inks.

Don, we have an Epson and if we could find the individual cartridges we'd just buy the color we need because I do like the printer. Problem is, living in a rural area, they don't carry much at WM so we have to drive an hour for a bigger city. Even then, we haven't been able to find the ones we need there either. Did look online but it'll cost even more to ship them here. Figure we've got this multi pack to use for a while while I look into getting something else. Might look into the refillable cartridges. Office Depot does that but we'd have to take them to Evansville, IN. Geesh!

Snowing here again (nothing like Linda is getting). Doubt we'll even get an inch but it has rained for the last four hours so the ground/roads are saturated and will freeze over no doubt. Going to drop down to 7 by Wednesday and snow chances again then and Thursday. Someone needs to tell the mother nature that this is KY not Minnesota! Randy has to open the restaurant in the morning and my first client is at 9 in another county so it'll be an interesting morning for both of us!

Tina, I'd be thrilled with 25 pages in one weekend so I'd hardly say you're a slow scrapper! Fun that the girls came to see you. Also fun that Ron is getting a BMW off ebay. I've had friends get their cars online and have to go pick them up. They've had great luck, I know me, I'd get a lemon.

Henri, glad the surgery went well and hurray for no skin cancer.

Blanca, stop sanding and take a break!

Hi to everyone else!

Twenty years ago, when my son was 22 he bought a DeLorean on ebay - still has it. Belonged to 1st or 3rd baseman on the Florida Marlins and he still loves that car. Had to fly from Georgia to Miami to get it.

Hello You all

the winter storm has gone by us now and left only about 8-10 inches. We are not looking forward to the Artic blast coming in. We are below zero already.

I went to the oncologist today to get my six week check up since my surgery. My numbers were all normal across the board. Today unfortunately it is not true as my ferritin was 240 and today it dropped to 70. Not good. He said that there is no cure for what I have and I will have to learn to live with this situation forever. In three months I will start infusions once again. I must say the disappointment I felt was so unexpected I was stunned. Tonight I feel depressed and I want to cry as I thought I was normal........

I am so sorry Linda. I don't know what to say. You have been sounding so upbeat and so good and seemed to feel so good. Life was back to normal for you.

I hate that you have to start infusions - I can't even imagine the disappointment you must be feeling.

I am so sorry. I'm stunned hearing you talk about it. You have every right to feel like crying.

Linda, I am so sorry. Sending you lots of huge hugs,
and tissues, because you are allowed to cry, and feel
depressed. I know I would be. Hugs and prayers
being sent your way.

Oh, Linda, I am so sorry to hear about your test results.
You are in my prayers. I have loved your upbeat attitude, but you probably need (and deserve) a good cry. I wish I could be there to cry with you. Hugs, hugs, hugs, sweet friend. Remember that you can do hard things and are tough enough to do this. You have lots of friends here who are praying for you.

Linda, hang in there! We have several here in this area that have to go get infusions periodically. Never have determined a reason for why it drops. One time they'll get great results, next they're back to low. It has to be so frustrating. One thing I know for certain, staying positive is the key!

I am here!! I have been busy sanding and finally got all the walls primed, I am tired and sore today. I finish yesterda. Wish I could start painting, but we are leaving for Tehachapi, to get our taxes done, and visit the kids.

Art fell of the scaffolding and has been in a lot of pay. We went to the dr on Monday just to make sure he did not have a broken rib. He can’t even cough or sneeze with out hurting. We are getting too old for this.

Linda, I am sorry to hear your numbers went down. Hugs! Don’t lose hope.

I have never heard of buying ink by the month. Now you git me thinking.

I bought a small wireless printer today, to keep here. The old one is just p printer, but I needed a canner and copier, so I hope it works good.

Tena, 25 pages in a weekend? Please, No bragging allowed. I signed up for 52 for the Whole year Good for you! Congratulations to your husband on his new car. What series did he get?

Nice to see you Toni and Nylene.

Don how are you feeling these days?

Henri, good to hear your results came back negative.

Enjoy your new printer Blanca. Mine is an HP 3-in-1 with scanner, copier and printer. I love it - wouldn't have anything else. And I really love that it is Bluetooth so its wireless! Big plus for me.

I decided to stop by to catch up on what everybody is up to.

Oh my gosh, I hope Art will be okay. That is the problem with home repairs the accidents that come with it. We have remodeled the whole house except for one more bedroom and there has been several mishaps. The worst one is when we were working outside putting the deck together. I was standing on the opposite end and Rene had the air gun with nails in it. He accidently pulled the trigger and that nail went by me so fast we both just looked at each other speechless that would have been a disaster.

We went to Littleton to pick up a few items a Lowe's, I love hardware stores and I don't know why. Then off to Wal Mart
for a few things and I bought some new blades for my cricut and more yarn. I never eat at fast food places, but Rene had this great coupon for Burger King and I broke down and actually had a little something, I did like the French fries, they were freshly cooked, hot and yummy. Go figure.

I cut some images on my cricut as I am working on more layouts from 2018 but I will get them all caught up with.

Taking a little rest break. I was trying to decide whether to go to an indoor craft/flea market that they are having today in the county and decided I had enough stuff lying around already so I stayed home (so far but it's open til 4, LOL). Have already cleaned out the stuff all drawer and the receipt bowls in the china cabinet (casserole bowls with lids that seem to make a good "safe this receipt" spot) and found receipts from 2016. Lets just say my shredder has had to take a lot of rest breaks today. Found Randy's old sleep study results too--would have been nice to have that last year and he wouldn't have had to do another study. Not that it matters because he still isn't wearing the CPAP that we bought. Also found a "if you retire right now" statement from Social Security from years ago. Was fun to look back on just how little I made when I first started working. Not sure how we survived! Really need to get the last box of Christmas decorations out to the storage building and out of the guest room but the yard is just a solid mud pile from all the rain/snow/ice we've had this week. Crazy temperature it's 54 today and going to be 65 by Tuesday. It was 2 this past Tuesday!

You sound good today Linda - I'm so glad. I like Loews and Home Depot too - great ideas there! Although I will hire someone to do the work because Bill - well, he is not a perfectionist and I want it perfect. Plus, he is a work at his own pace. I may start the project today and if I feel like it I will finish it next week but it could be 2022 when I finish it too.

I can't live with half-projects with no progress being made on them for months or years at a time.

We love just about all fast food and certainly eat our share of it. We need to quit. Burger King fries are so good - love the burgers too. We split a whopper - one feeds both of us!

Don't know why, but we rarely get Burger King. Its usually Popeye's or Taco Bell.

I've accomplished pretty much nothing today - just getting ready for my Valentine's dessert for the neighborhood.

Linda, I love LOWES, it's my store, Home depot is Art's store.

I have seriously considered getting a part time job there, like I really have time for another job. Or JoAnns, omg, I would be working for free there, because my paycheck would go to buy scrap supplies or sewing supplies.

As far as fast food restaurants, we hardly go there, unless we have the kids with us. Although, I must admit, the last threw weeks, we did have taco bell, and In and Out burgers, because some days we were too tired to cook.

I must say, I see the light at the end of the tunnel. Cleaned up a lot of the dust and construction material, left a few things that I will need when I start painting. But I really think it will be smooth sailing from here on, until we tackle the floors that is.

Theresa, you sound like me. I have envelopes with receipts, and when I am looking for something I can find it. I tell Art, is my organized mess, but sometimes, I can't even find what I am looking for

Art never wears his hearing aids, and we spent a lot of money on them. Makes me mad!

Good thing you stayed home, you saved some money. The minute I leave the house, I find something that I don't need, but want.

It has been a lazy, rainy day today. Perfect day for scraping but, I only have pictures for one lo. So hoping I can get it done.

I have spent so much on line the past week, I would be better off if I went to a brick and mortar store. Then I might not want it.

Lazy here - haven't done anything but party planning. Will do some scrapping tonight. Have done everything else I can.

Tomorrow we pack for our 2 days in St. Augustine to leave Monday morning. Looking forward to that!

Usually we go to Red Lobster, Lorito's (our favorite Italian place) Harry's (Louisiana seafood restaurant where they have good shrimp and grits - looks like it would be on Bourbon Street but its nice), Ruby Tuesday's (once or twice some weeks), and scores of other nice local restaurants. But if we are out running errands, we stop at taco bell, Burger king, and after doctor's appointments, we like to go to Popeye's because most of our doctor's are in that neighborhood. Have to add that we eat at Sonny's bbq a lot - twice last week.

Well I made sure that I stayed home, didn't take a shower, LOL. Did get laundry done, saved money without buying more stuff I didn't need, took a nap and I've been watching Hallmark movies all evening--win win!

We don't eat out much. With my gluten allergy eating out is tough. Fast food restaurants even coat their french fries with wheat/milk to keep them from splattering when they go into the grease.

My husband got really nice hearing aids - the most modern available given to him by the VA early last year.

He wore them once. The little noises bothered him, like tapping on the computer keyboard and paper rustling so he never put them in again.

I hated it when he wore them because my hearing isn't the greatest but we speak where we can hear each other.

When he had the hearing aids in, I couldn't hear him say a word, he could hear himself so loudly that he started almost whispering and it drove me crazy.

I kept having to tell him, "Bill you are talking under your breath and no one can hear you. I'm across the room and I don't have a clue what you are saying!"

Everyone else complained they couldn't hear him either when he had his hearing aids in.

Probably just needed the volume adjusted, but he just didn't like them.

Good morning! I could not sleep last night. I think I was worried about the drive home in the nasty weather and more rain is expected by 11:00 am again.

Finished two los yesterday. I have not done that in a long time.

Don, I totallat understand your hearing problem. I accuse Art of suffering from the same. lol.

Theresa, you did have a nice relaxing day. Good for you!

Henri, have fun in St Augustine! I think you leave today, drive safe.

I lost a day somewhere Blanca - I thought yesterday was Sunday so we would leave today. However, today is Sunday, so we leave tomorrow.

Did all kind of research on St. Augustine and everything is on index cards that I want to see or may want to see and in my backpack.

Just need to get one of BIll's friends to recommend restaurants. He has a favorite seafood place and a woman makes the pies at home and brings them. Need to get that, and I'm ready.

Need to do shower, do hair, nails and pack yet but none of that will take too long. Will start that this afternoon.

Weather is supposed to be perfect too. Fingers crossed.

Theresa, that card is so cute!

I been busy getting tax paperwork ready for my appointment on Thursday. I sometimes hate being the responsible one in the family, and taxes is one of those times.

We have about three inches of snow, and It supposed to snow through the night. It’s so cold! These are the days I like to sit and scrap, but instead, I am working. I have been wanting to play with my new heat gun and embossing powders.

Hey girls,
Just stopping by to say hi. Not much going on here, same
ol' same ol'. I thought I would have more time off once
the holidays were over, but between my immediate
supervisor at school being transferred to another school,
and taking on a lot more classes, etc., when I'm not working at J's in the evening, I stay late at school getting caught up on paper work and stuff. And so it goes. It's all good, right?

Henri Jean, I love St. Augustine. Definitely one of my favorite places to go especially for a two or three day
sprint. Enjoy.

Theresa, wish I could say our weather is any different...
although we didn't get down to 2, I think we got down to
9 with the wind chill added in, and today it's supposed to be 73 .... What? That's crazy. Of course no wonder everyone has been sick. I hate to say it but I was really hoping we would have had a good snow storm. We haven't had a good one in probably three or four years.
Ice, yes, snow, no.

Bianca, you wouldn't spend your whole paycheck at J's, LOL, just some of it. Of course when you start, you probably would, but after awhile not so much. I can't believe you got that much snow. I thought you lived in CA, or am I wrong? Or do you live in a part of it where you do get snow?

Nylene, nice to see you stop by, too. I miss coming here and seeing your words of wisdom and sweet pages. I hope all is going well with you and Steve. I imagine you are being kept pretty busy at this time. Wishing you both the best.

Linda, you sound good. I hope you're holding on, and doing what you're supposed to be doing to help you feel better. Hugs.

Don, I wish my DH could wear hearing aids...I have to repeat almost everything I say, sometimes two or three times!!!!

Anyway, everyone have a lovely day.

toni

My bladder cancer treatments are getting annoying. I am supposed to have 6 weekly treatments. Missed the 1st one because they didn't have my dose. The next week I had my 1st treatment it was easy cheezy. Then there was MLK day, VA is a federal facility. I made it in on the 28th. The next week we had 4 to 8"s of snow; I tried but the buses got stuck so I went back home. A 3 hour, 14 mile bus ride.
This next Monday should be another experience, as we have another snow event coming Friday, which could last 4 or 5 days.

I hope you can get them overwith soon.

Don, hate to hear you're having so many issues getting the treatment you need!

This crazy weather! It was 71 here this morning. We've had flooding rain all day. Temperatures are dropping, it's 44 now (a little before 6 p.m.) and is going to be 20 by morning. Rain should stop in a couple of more hours but it's going to be a icy mess tomorrow! No clients scheduled but am supposed to take my Rav4 in for servicing at 8, we'll see how that goes.

Just popping in here for a minute. Bill went to get oil changed (secret shopper assignments so they pay for the oil change and pay $50 - $75 for him to do the report.

Been polishing my silver cake server thingy and my silver punch bowl ladle. That one is as plain as you can get - it was used in the Georgia Governors mansions since way back. A friend bought it for me in an antique shop. There is nothing fancy on it - just plain sterling that looks like it would have been made in a very old-fashioned method. Not pretty and fancy like todays silver.

I bought a very nice punchbowl in 1990 or around there and saw the ladle but wasn't going to pay $100 for the silver ladle. I decided to find something cheap somewhere else.

My girlfriend was visiting from Kentucky for the week and when she left, as a thank-you gift, she left the ladle and a thank you card for me to find when I cleaned her room.

Such an amazing and unexpected hostess gift to find!

I guess Bill is finished with his oil change - he just called to see what I want from Popeye's chicken.

Toni - I always take my computer when I travel, I have a small suitcase carry-on that it goes in along with my portable scanner - they never go in luggage to be checked in.

When we are out and about, I pick up literature for information and some places I research before I go. I also scribble things on a small note pad just so I won't forget.

Then when we get to the room, while Bill is in the shower, I type out what we did and get info from my notes and anything else I may want to add to the scrapbook page later.

I have a word file called "Trip Journal" and every day when we travel, the notes from that day go at the end. So when I scrap, when I open the file, the top day is the one I'm working on. I just edit, copy and paste it onto my page when I'm working on my books. I have always done it that way.

At one point my Trip Journal was 78 pages, right now I think it is 32 or 33 pages.

So easy when working on a page just to open the trip journal and the page I'm working on is right there to copy/paste. When I finish that page, I delete it from the trip journal and the next day I want to scrap is at the top of the page.

Also, every night I take my pictures off my camera and put them in the file for photos and scans for that trip - I spend a little time before we go to bed to throw out the bad ones and what is left. of I have time I try to quickly edit them before we go to bed.

I also label and tag all my pictures every night so they are always current and organized when we go to bed.

If there is a sea day the next day I may wait until then to edit or organize the pictures for the day, but almost always, they are done before we go to bed.

I keep one photo file going for each trip and each photo is labeled with the date, place and info I need. For example, the way I label any photos today would be 2019-02-09 (1) Ocala, FL, Popeyes for lunch.

Then in the file, ever picture taken today would be together, in order by the number in parenthesis. When I'm scrapping this album, I just open the file for South Pacific Adventures - Part 1 and the pictures are in order, sorted and correspond perfectly with the trip journal file dates and order of events.

When I scan things or someone else gives me pictures, I work them in the order with mine so they everything is still in order to scrap.

Sounds confusing and like a lot of work, but truth is, takes very little time when I do it every day and saves hours of work when I scrap the pages and everything is right there in order - the pictures and the journaling.

I'm a chronic organizer Toni - I can't help it. I got it form my mother.

Had fun at my crop last night, actually made a few pages (haven't added all the journaling yet so didn't take a photo of everything) and some easy cards for the grands. Since I thought they might want to use them for decorations on their book shelves I didn't actually add the words valentine's day but they'll get them this week so that's what they are.

Hi, I have been so sick. We went to Tehachapi to get the taxes done and I ended up getting really sick. I think it was the change in weather. We even had snow, and I had to go out and shovel the walkway because I did not want Art to do it. I did not want him falling again.

We left on Sunday, right before the snow started again. They ended up with over a foot of snow.

It's cool here, which is not normal for Palm Springs this time of year.

I feel a little better today, but still coughing. Have not done any scrapbooking lately. I need to have some fun!

Other than that, nothing exciting going on with me. Between the weather and me getting sick, I can't finish my house projects I just want to be done!

Don, I hope you were able to get to your treatment yesterday. You can't afford to miss them.

Theresa, I miss my crops so much. They were so much fun. Really I think I visited more than I scrapped, but that was the fun of it.

Hope everyone is doing well and staying warm.

Blanca, I thought it was important to have 1 a week for 6 weeks, but I find it not all THAT important.
1/14 was my 1st treatment, I/28 was my 2nd. My 3rd will be 2/15.
Between 2 federal holidays and 2 snow storms it's been quite the drawn out affair. As of now my last treatment is 3/8.

I don't blame anybody, it is what it is.

Blanca - glad you are feeling better - but can you hire someone to shovel the snow? Not good to have Art fall down again, but not good for you to be out shoveling snow when you are sick either.

Don, I hope you are able to get on schedule with getting your treatments overwith! How frustrating for you!

I think I am relapsing. Thought I was getting better, but back again with the headache and chills.

Don, I hope you can get to your appointment on Friday.

Nothing else going on here, except drinking hot tea, and trying to relax, which a hard thing for me to do.
