A couple years ago Kaylann started a swap (Angel Card Swap) on here where people would submit names and you would send cards to the names submitted. Well I thought I would try something similar but different.

See I have a ton of people I think of in my life that could use a card but then life gets in the way and the cards never get sent. So this challenge is to help with that.

The goal of this challenge is for you to name a person (or more if your ambitious) that you WILL make and MAIL a card to this month. *can be a previous made card you have made.*

We will post cards here so everyone can be inspired!

Think of someone that could use HAPPY MAIL. Life is short and we don’t always let people know how important they are to us! There are several reasons (this is just a few) why you might want send someone HAPPY MAIL:
Thinking of you
Birthday or Holiday (maybe don’t have a lot of family)
Struggling with ________
Need prayers
Encouragement
Sympathy
Being a parent
Loss of employment
New Christian, old Christian, struggling Christian
Get Well
Just to say "Hello!"
Happy Events - wedding, graduations, new baby, etc.
Birthdays
Funny Holidays
Holidays

P.S. - if you have a situation where you would like others to also mail a card to someone you can post that information and ask if anyone would like to PM you for the address.

**This is new challenge so things might evolve as we go. If you have suggestions I would love to hear them**

You can sign up at any time through out the month but the card MUST BE MAILED BY THE LAST DAY OF THE MONTH, Oct 31, 2018!

Hello all, I am in for 1 card at the moment. My kids school that we have been at for like 20 years, has a teacher who lost her baby girl 2 years ago around this time. Well it hit her harder and sooner than normal this year, so I will be makeing her a card here soon.

We are in the midst of a postal strike here in Canada that I don't know when will end so I am not committing to mailing any cards yet this month.

Amanda you got any you can hand deliver? I heard they were on strike ....is it over pay? That sucks. Well maybe you make some and stock up so when it's over you'll have plenty to mail.

Totally forgot about hand delivering Kathy! It is dh's birthday this month so I will make one for him and my aunt. May or may not be able to hand deliver hers (she is in the next city over) but she will understand if it is late due to the strike.

And yes - always seems to be over pay!

I will join again this month. I am still sending Jessica a card every week, but slow in getting posted here.

I have a few birthdays & just thinking of you cards to make. Not enough hours in the day sometimes!

Thank you again sweet ones for reaching out to Jessica. She has been blessed receiving the cards even though she is really struggling physically.

I am joining this month. I should mention that here in Canada it is a rotating postal strike.

For everyone in this group.

November 21 is “World Hello Day”.
http://worldhelloday.org
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Hello_Day
You can find lots of celebrity addresses by researching on the internet.
Last month I sent a handmade card to actress/talk show host Kelly Ripa. (Waiting for a reply.)

Amanda and any other Canadians

Amanda, this year I have sent my handmade cards to the following. All of them have replied back to me with thank you cards and letters.

Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders
Toronto Fire Chief Matthew Pegg
Toronto Mayor John Tory
Canada's first permanent female RCMP commissioner Brenda Lucki
Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi

You can find addresses of these people and other politicians, etc on the internet.

Soon I will be sending my handmade Christmas cards to the Canadian Armed Forces Bases and Toronto Fire And Police Stations. Here are some addresses for the Canadian Armed Forces. (I recommend writing “handmade card” on the outside of your envelope.)

These are 5 cards that I made for challenges in July. I am sending them out tonight to local Veteran's to honor and thank them for their service. My list was longer than the number of cards I had, so I think tonight I will make several more. Maybe I can work them into the current card challenges.

I have a favor to ask of you ladies. I am working on a Christmas present for my son who is serving a two year mission for our church. I want to put together a collection of about 100 inspirational thoughts, spiritual thoughts and scriptures. I have asked family and friends to help, but haven't gotten a very good response. If anyone would be will to help me out that would be wonderful. If you are willing to help me, please write your thought, quote or scripture on a 3x5 card and pm me for my address if you need it. You are also more than welcome to send me more than one if you wish. Thank you so much!

My goal this month is to send 3 x 5 cards to Karen for her son. When do you want them by Karen?
I'll start praying and seeing what God wants me to write down.

Has anyone found a way to create more time but less duties. I just want to get caught up on what I have!! All in God's timing right?!!

Thought of 2 more Veteran's that I need to remember,
and dug through my stash for a card for my niece's birthday, a card of congratulations for an engagement, card for the arrival of my newest great nephew (no photo as I already sealed it up) and a card of encouragement for a friend/former colleague who's family is going through a lot of medical issues.

Caught up on September's thread.

I had put for September and October that there would be a RAK for those months on people that met their goals. I'm sorry I wasn't good at keeping up the front page but will be now! Thank goodness everyone met their goals.

Winner for September was Meggies Nana. Congratulations!

Just so you know in December was thinking about doing something different. Let me know what you think?
Since most people mail Christmas cards those won't count UNLESS they are for someone you don't normally give a Christmas card too. So if you want to surprise a window at church or neighbor down the street that you don't normally give Christmas cards then you can share those... And any other card in December that you send out that isn't a Christmas card.
What's your opinion on that?

Exactly! That was my thought process and I don't want to post them all!! But I also want to challenge us to send a couple cards we wouldnt' normally send. Like I met a lady at a church yesterday who doesn't have any family. So even though I don't send Christmas cards I think I will send one to her. Also to my aunt's grandson since this is the first Christmas without granny. But since my life has been so crazy I'm trying to be careful cause I started this challenge in hopes to help me but I still have a crazy life this year...hoping 2019 is better for me.

So far this month, Ive sent out a sympathy card, 3-birthday cards and 16 Thanksgiving cards. I can think of 4 more that I want to send out and I also want to make some Thanksgiving mini cards to hand out to senior friends at Senior Housing. I keep a running list for the seniors and I give them all various mini cards throughout the year so I may only make 2-3 Thanksgiving minis for some that havent received a card from me yet this year. In January Ill start my list over again cuz all of them will have received at least one mini card from me at some point during 2018.
I hope everything is good with all of you!

When I have finished making my Christmas cards I will have made an estimated 173 cards in total for the entire year. Only a small portion of those cards I have given to people.

Wow Stephen! Thats almost a store display full! So if youve only given a portion away what do you do with the others? Do you sell them or do you file them away for when you need them later? Thats what I do. Ive been making mostly holiday cards for some time...I really need to make more for my file

The cards that I don’t give away I file those ones in photo boxes which I bought from Michael’s. I keep my prototypes. I get creative making cards with leftover scraps. When I make these cards I hate to give them up.

My Mom has a storage bin with all the cards I have made for her and Dad. Every year I make the following cards to give to my parents. One each of the following events: Mom’s Birthday, Mother’s Day, Their wedding anniversary, Father’s Day, and Dad’s Birthday. For the following events I give them two cards. In other words I give one card to Mom and one card to Dad. (Valentine’s Day; St. Patrick’s Day; Easter; Canada Day (sometimes); Thanksgiving; Hallowe’en; and Christmas.)

As long as it is a 3x5 card you can do whatever you want on it. Most of them are plain. I have a few that have little drawing on them. Whatever you are inspired to do is greatly appreciated.
