I think someone may be doing a Christmas Challenge already, I looked and couldn't find it though...
My apologies in advance to that person

This challenge is only for the rest of this month and really just a place to get us ready for next month...whatever that means to you.

This is what it means to me:

I bought some new Christmas Items to play w/ … but then felt guilty about it because I have not yet finished my December
Daily from last year!
So I started working on it (AGAIN) last night.
I have 2 more pages done.
I will share later.

I am trying to finish, or at least be nearly finished, before December 2018 rolls in.

So my challenge to you is:
- Finish your December Daily from last year (or nearly done)
Or
- Get your supplies / book ready to go for this year
Or
- Get a few more Christmas Cards done
Or
-Do WHATEVER you need to do to feel ready for December/the Holiday Season

ANY PROJECT/ANY SIZE allowed.
Lets just play and motivate each other...

Those are such cute pages! You've inspired me to haul out my ridiculous collection of December Daily supplies and choose which line to go with this year (yep, it's that bad). I never have trouble finishing my December books once I get them started but getting started is a hassle, which is why I begin to put things together in November.

It is a project that was created by Ali Edwards years ago...
Basically, it's taking a photo a day to celebrate the Christmas/Holiday Season.
I did/am doing a December Not-So-Daily because I didn't take a photo every day.

Do you have instagram or You Tube?
Lots of ideas on both.

Here's the technical description from Ali Edwards:

"About December Daily®

December Daily® is a December mini-album project that documents the 25 days leading up to Christmas. The simple goal is to capture the spirit of December via one story per day.

Over the last eight years this project has become one of the highlights of my year and a beautiful community of memory keepers has come together to share their December stories with one another. It's an awesome way to document and celebrate the season"

Your challenge has motivated me to gather things for the December daily this year. I am trying really hard NOT to buy anything for it as I already have enough things to use with 8x11 page protectors. The only thing I may need to an album to put them in.

December 1st I will be at a crop so the first day it will be easy to get photos. I my even start a page without pictures this month.

Yay!

I'm trying to decide, since my DD was such a fail last year, what I want to do this year. I was thinking just including pages in my Project Life, but that sucker is so full already and I'm only on week 39 of pages completed!

Getting ready for next month means - getting ready for a busy season and a head-start as I know what I will be doing the on the 1st and 2nd of December. This gives me a chance to plan ahead for my photos!

Sue - I love it!
What size is this?
Oh, and what album are you using?

I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do for this year...
I've literally been googling options for the past 2 days!
I want a small album w/ pocket pages, but I don't want a kit...I want to use my own stuff!
I haven't found anything that works for me yet!

Oh please share...
I'm still deciding what method I'm going to use... though I realize I don't take a lot of Christmas Photos so... I may just include it in my Project Life, especially since I failed at December Daily last year!

Doreena - my pages will be 8.5x11.....I already have plenty of page protectors that size AND I am using my own stuff so I don't have to buy a kit!!! It takes a little bit longer to make embellishment but more cost effective as I already have plenty of things to use!! The 8.5x11 is a very manageable size!!
I will use a ring binder just don't know yet what style...I may have to buy that so far I am not of the mind to make just a cover and back with rings but who knows.

Anyone have tips on how to take a photo while the pages are in the pockets??
I can't get rid of the glare and I do not use a flash.
When I do a full page 8.5x11 I will take the pictures before putting it in a page protector...the pockets are as manageable but I could try to line them up and snap a quick picture before putting in the protector.

Here is another page in preparation for the December daily. I am planing to journal around the lower left card as soon as I take the Dec 2 picture to put in there. I will also add a couple other embellishments if I end up taking the picture I plan (room of Christmas decor) for the top pocket. I will stamp the bigger bird carrying a bell, from the set I used, and fussy cut it to go over the photo.

Finishing up other projects first.

My first December Daily was made 5 years ago to celebrate our new home.
I completed it in January.
Turned out very nice.
I used 6 x 8 simple stories album in bright red.

This year I have red and black plaid!!
Bought everything here.
Im excited!!

Sharon,
The only way I avoid the glare is to take photos in the morning light.
My scraproom faces North with the window on the East.
I get the most glorious light.

Donna, or anyone....do you use a camera or your phone? I use my phone for all pictures.
So much easier.
I think later morning will work, but I am usually too impatient!

The paper is Christmas by Carte Bella.
On the back of this cover, I will journal about what an incredible journey 2018 has been.

Doreena, Sharon, Donna .......... you gals have INSPIRED me! I am also in the group of using what I already have (some things I ordered last year here) and a Simple Stories 6x8 Album I've had in my stash for sometime ... I just wasn't sure what I was going to do exactly

This is my 2nd year doing a December Album. I really enjoyed the process last year, helped me plan for and document a season of holiday fun

Well.... well well well! With all of the talk of using a 6x8 album made a light bulb go off this morning. I HAVE an 8x8 album that I was wondering what I was going to so with and it happens to be red!! Now what to do? Take my pocket pages and make them into 8x8 pages or continue with the 8.5x11?? What to do what to do?? I would have to purchase 5 more pages to go in the album as there is only 10 at the moment which will take me up to Dec 20... or buy an album for the pages I have done, which is only two....

Of course, no pressure!

Oh and saw the cutest 6x8 Buffalo plaid album on Amazon and put it in my cart but then decided I didn't need it.

Found some inspiration of Pintrest for a page that will go in the December Daily. I still have to take a photo in daylight so will post sometime soon.

I have come to the conclusion that I will continue to work at working on the actual pages that I will use in December, that is the only way I see getting it done in a timely fashion and still remember to take a picture each day!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!
All my prep work is right on schedule with only a few things to do tomorrow.

Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving!

Sharon glad you have your plan of action!
I'm still sticking w/ including my Christmas-themed photos into my Project Life.
But...I sure have been tempted otherwise; too much great product out there, LOL
But I know I will not need an entire album, that's just not how I roll!

BTW - there is another December Daily Thread.
My thread was just to (hopefully) get you all inspired to start this year or finish last years but I have no intention of posting this thread next month, so if you're interested....
Here's the other thread:

I had seen that thread and plan on sharing the pages started this month as I finish them next month for the other challenge.
I am "using" your challenge to inspire me into action with a head start so I don't end up flaking out before the end of the December!
I have not tired doing the December Daily before but getting ahead start is motivating me.
I will have to check with Kimberly Rae to see what is "allowed" this early.

Are you making the list?? By Sewflake

Here will be page 3 that will need "fleshing out"...wow just 10 days from now!

Doreena, I'm loving your pages -- they're so fancy! Mine tend to be a lot simpler but that's because I sacrifice creativity to speed.

Anyway, I do have some prep work done on my 2018 JYC/DD book but I haven't photographed any of it yet. I'll get on that today, as soon as the furnace guy leaves. (It's always something.)

I've completed the only pages I can finish before December. They're pretty plain but keeping it simple is how I'll manage to finish this project by January 2nd.
