Here's a quick page I did today while playing around with one of the photo filters. The photos were really dark from the lighting in the resort loby but I'm still not to happy with the colors ( but love the page)...guess I'll figure it out eventually.

Tena I have Windows 10 and use Microsoft Office Picture Manager (must have come with MS Office?). I also have Photo Elements - an older version that I use for repair of vintage pictures.

Henri told us to go to the Little Chapel and the museum in St. Peter Port; we did, and so enjoyed both.

Yes, Henri, we read the history and we saw the bunkers. We basically spent the whole day at those two places. Thank you so much for recommending them to us.

I didn't read the history of the chapel until I got home and then had to giggle.

I thought the chapel was just so cute!

I'm glad you enjoyed them like we did. That is all we did all day that day too - took up the entire day, but worth it.

We're going on a cruise to Nasau, St. Thomas, and Tortola in April. If any of you cruisers has any recommendations for any of those places, I'd love to hear it.

When you are in Nassau, its the best place in the world (I think) to swim with the dolphins. That is at the Atlantis hotel which is amazing just to walk around and see.

The ships sell that excursion for about $350.00 but I went on line and booked them directly that day with the Atlantis and they are about $169 each. Huge difference! We saved about $200 each. The cab fair was about $10 each way for us.

Here is the book with St. Thomas:

When we go to Nassau, we try to snorkel and/or get conch fritters--I forget the name of the restaurant though. Also love to walk around the British Colonial Hotel, and we love the Queen's staircase--there is a walking tour which we enjoy.

Good morning everyone! I am back from the retreat and trying to get unpacked and acu on here.
Wanted to say hello and do a drive-by check-in.
I don't pick up the girls until later today, so I'm hoping to get some things in order before they come back home.

I did 't get to look through all the chatter in depth, but I'll get back on that asap!

Hi all! So funny, I've been cu on the conversation here, and I have to laugh - I still have PSE 8! Haha - and you are talking about 18! I only use it to put resized photos on 4x6's for printing, so I've never paid for a newer version. I do all my other editing in Picasa.

Anyway, I have a few things to share. I'm not too excited about any of these, but I'm just trying to get them done. Let's just say, 2011 was not my favorite time in my life, at least the first 3/4's of it, so I feel like I'm just kind of phoning these in. Not using 'good' papers, etc. I'll be glad to get these all checked off and put away.

Tena, Bev, Susan and Henri...
I had a four-day laugh-fest with these gals! The 10 of us started out as 12, but one couldn't make it due to a family medical emergency and the other ended up not able to get time off from work.
We are all friends who also go to the big retreat in June at Inspiration Inn Bloom located in Ohio. There are 37 of us who go to this one.
The cell service was sketchy, for sure. I have unlimited data and as long as there is a smidge of connection, I can get my outside world information. There was one window, in the kitchen, that we lovingly named the 'Internet Window' because that was the only place in the house with really strong service.

This was the first time the house has been used for a scrap retreat, and we've already requested a date for next year. Just waiting on approval.
I seriously burned calories laughing at these crazy loons! Fun times!

I'm still working on getting acu....NTS, start on 6

And hello to everyone, sorry I've been MIA lately just busy but have managed to get a few pages done. Hopefully I'll get them posted soon.

This weekend I'm at Anitra's for wedding dress appointments. We had one yesterday and two today. She found one that she really like but don't know if they can get it altered like she needs. So looking forward to what we see today. Will work on getting caught up on Monday

Yes, very exciting...her dress is very elegant w/a full length veil and she looked gorgeous in it...but I'm her Mom and she's always gorgeous to me

Henri, their wedding date is July 6, of this year and it's coming up fast but they have pretty much everything covered. They both wanted something very low-key, small and intimate. So it will be mostly family and close friends invited (around 75 people in total). There's no wedding party, just the two of them. They already have their ceremony venue, reception venue and honeymoon location picked out. The flowers are taken care of but the guys (groom & Matt-father of the bride) still have to get their suit fitting done next month. Their biggest problem right now is figuring out where to live since they both have their own house. His is bigger but Anitra's is pretty much based on her proximity to her job, which is why she bought her house in Hiram, GA. I'm sure they will work it out soon.

Sounds like they have it all together. I remember Hiram Georgia - I used to be sales manager for a subdivision in Austell - not to far and my Georgia son lives in Dallas and works at the Yamaha corporate headquarters in Kennesaw and one of the IT guys.

That is a nice-sized wedding - not overwhelming, but still enough to have plenty of friends and family to share it with.

They will work out the housing. I'm sure they will find a perfect compromise.

Thanks Janeen, they are doing most of the work/planning. I'm just here to help her with whatever she needs when she asks. I'm very proud of how they are handling this...very sensible. Today they are taking their professional engagement pics, can't wait to see how they turn out.

ACU!!! You all have been busy.

I have some to post tomorrow--have to take pictures.

Also, a heads up--we are leaving Thursday for FL, leaving next Sunday for a Panama Canal cruise, ending in San Diego (Henri, it's our first HAL cruise!).

So, I plan on starting the March thread Wednesday night. Doesn't seem possible it's almost March.

We love Holland America. They are a little more service oriented (my opinion) because they cater to a little bit older crowd. Its more of 50+ and not as many children and college students and young families.

Some of the ships are more of a party environment and Holland America is more retirees that we have things in common with.

For some reason we have difficulty making friends on other cruise ships but Holland America, we seem to bond with the other passengers better. More people our age.

Tena, so happy your daughter found her dress, with that huge decision put to bed, everything else can now start rolling along! Congrats to her (and you)

Janeen, I can say that I have fallen into a group of really fun friends. I had a close scrap group of friends, while I lived in KY, but when we moved here (WV) I gave up the thought that I'd find another group.
Thanks to a chance meeting at a XC meet a few years ago, I met a group of 10 women and now I've become a part of a 47+ group. I am blessed with these crazy women!

Hi everyone, jci and getting caught up. It's been so nice and warm here the last few days it's hard to stay inside. It's already looking like spring with some of the trees budding but I'm sure we're not done with the cold just yet.

Thanks so much for all the well wishes with Anitra's wedding prep, we had a fabulous time and I have a ton of photos of dresses that didn't make the cut. I also got a sneak peek of one of her engagement photos from her shoot on Sunday and if they all look this good I'll be scrapping for years. I told her I will probably get done with her wedding album by her 5th anniversary LOL.

Bev, great job with the card sample/inspiration for the students, they are going to love them.

Last night was our anniversary - we went out to dinner at a nice casual place nearby. On Thursday we are going to the dinner and dance here in the park. Dinner is pork loin (usually it is steak which we don't eat.).

Happy Belated Anniversay Susan, I hope you two enjoyed your dinner.

ACU and signing off...see in March thread
