Jennifer McGuire recently posted cards that she made using paper strips to create colorful striped backgrounds (http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2017/04/rainbow.html). When I took a second look at sketch #1 in the April Card Sketch Challenge, the design, with its stripes, brought her technique to mind. I used some brightly colored cardstock scraps which I cut into strips of varying thicknesses. I covered a piece of white cardstock with tape runner adhesive and glued down my strips alternating colors and using the thicker white pieces to mimic parts of the sketch. The large butterfly is a die from Memory Box. I cut the detailed part out of black cardstock and the solid underlay out of vellum. I added black enamel accent dots and two smaller vellum butterflies.
Thank you so much for your kindness and encouragement! It really means a lot!
Thanks for spreading positivity!
