This was a hard page to do and I wanted it to be special. Duke had been sick most of this year (the photos I have been posting are from last year). We spent months giving him subcutaneous fluids and meds, but over Labor Day weekend he worsened and it was clear we needed to let him go. I laid outside in the backyard with him, so he could soak up the sun before we took him in. He is no longer suffering, so I hold on to that. Dogs are truly the most amazing creatures on earth. Thier capacity for unconditional love is boundless.

Anyway, we have recently rescued two little puppies. They will never replace Duke, but they fill our hearts with joy and laughter, and they will be the subject of future layouts
