ok...this is my first attempt at steampunk! It's for the steampunk challenge, and boy is this style ever a challenge for me!!! Compared to other steampunk stuff I've seen, this is just not quite it!!! Buy, hey, I tried!!! lol!! We were to use a song, too, so The title is Toby's Keith's "American Soldier".

I am also entering it into the heritage challenge this month. I LOVE doing heritage layouts, and I love looking at other people's heritage layouts as well!!!

This is my dad when he was 18, in the Army Air Corps in Hawaii. This pic was taken just a few months before the attack on Pearl Harbor. Thank God he was not hurt, in fact he was sleeping when the attack started.

Most everything in this layout represents something:
the palm tree - Hawaii
the ship - how he traveled to Hawaii
the map - he was in the military 30 years and traveled everywhere
the flower - Hawaii's full of them (& I just like flowers!!)
the hula girls - He LOVED the hula girls
the bird - flight
the angel - his safety
the year - he was there when Pearl was attacked
