My girlfriend was visiting me here in Japan and we wore kimono to dance in the Bon festival. When she left, she didn't pack her shoes. Her birthday is coming up so I made her a scrapbook out of her shoes. I found cute little stickers at the 100 yen store, and also found the colored masking tape there. They had so many pretty colors! I wrote the titles with a white gel pen on the tape. I also found this cool black cording and outlined the entire book in it. The background is a piece of heavy black cardstock decorated with washi paper. I'm entering this Quay's October Dollar Days challenge - a yen is roughly a dollar afterall! Also, I know this is not Halloween, but the Japanese don't celebrate that so much. But Bon is a festival of the dead, where they welcome back their ancestors. Hope it fits the challenge!
