SHCG: Blacks & White & yellow is such a great combo. LUV the receipt and grocery list. The photo cracks me up. It something you see at least once a week but would necer think to take a pic of.
SHCG: I like the way you layered all the gray & yellow cs elements- looks great! I also like the frame you used around the store name on the receipt. Great LO! I have one question though.... did you coat the receipt with anything before using it? It seems like receipts fade really fast.
SHCG: I liked this as soon as I saw it, Marlene. Love the contrasting fonts to the title with the alphas and chippie letters nicely accentuated with dots and smeared color. Love how the chippie frame is covered in coupon paper and highlights the store name. Fab idea. Your grocery list in your handwriting gives the perfect personal touch. I like the layering of the border punched strips and ricrac. There's a lot of repeated rounded waviness to this page that I really like. That yellow flower has such interesting texture to it. Is that a black ladybug pipe cleaner? I wish I could see it better. My only suggestion is inspired by your photo of the lo. I noticed you placed it on top of lace, and that element is something I can definitely see added between the photo and the scalloped mat. If not, then maybe some white gel pen faux stitching around the photo. I don't know why, but I find your color palette to be particularly intriguing, maybe because it's not such an obvious choice for the reds in the pic. The size of this page and the textured cs also bring even more interest to the lo. Another great BWC response from you.
shcg: Awesome way to knock out all of those challenges! Totally cool color scheme. Love that you used your receipt and list on this. The newspaper-covere chipboard -- waaay cool. Love it!
SHCG: Such a neat idea. I love that you included your list. I would also date it and perhaps have a way of showing the cost of things... just to compare in the future.
SHCG - Way to rockingly respond to MULTIPLE challenges here, Marlene - brilliant scrapping! The use of the receipt, the newspaper-covered chipboard (how cool), painted letters & challenge color scheme look absolutely groovy. Also dig how you put your shopping list. I think the only thing I could suggest is writing the month/year somewhere on your shopping list, so we have that memorialized for the future. Ah Stop & Shop, that was OUR grocery store when I lived in White Plains for 3 yrs, loved it! And love your page. :)
This is a layout I did for a couple of challenges: SHCG BWC#7 Doing My Part to Keep this Place Open~you had a to scrap a store that you like to shop at. Tallyscrapper Challenge~you had to scrap pic in lower rh corner, use newspaper to cover chipboard, paint over alphas and use numbers. My own sb layout challenge over at JADS~scrap a lo using grey, yellow & black (thanks to Nikki for the inspiration) I used the Stop & Shop grocery circular to cover the chipboard and used my receipt on the lo. Funny thing about this, I shopped at King Kullen yesterday LOL ~ TFL :)
