SHCG: Great Lo and fabulous photos. I love the ribbon through the center and the flower cluster. I think a little something should be added to the right side to balance the two pages a bit. Not sure what. I just read some other comments and I like the idea of making the picture bigger.
SHCG: I really like how you add so many photos to your layouts. You captured the day with these two pages. Years from now when you look back these truly will be great mementos. Personally I think you need something right under your pic on the left page in that empty space. Maybe some brads, like a row of them or possibly a stamp or rub-on.
SHCG: What a kooky solution to a birthday celebration--totally something I'd orchestrate! I love your candid shots and white gel pen captions. How the heck did you get that great moon shot?! We took photos of the moon recently, and this is what I hoped for. I love your idea of close cropping it like that. The kitty pics are silly! I really like your photo placement on the right page. The focal pic is so sweet! The flower is a beautiful touch. I actually think your journaling piece is what's limiting you. I'd snip off the section with the date and just use that. Place it a little further away from the ribbon so that it is almost aligned with the bottom edge of the photo. Then, I'd just do the journaling straight across the bottom of the photo in the pink section. Where the bottom edge of that journaling piece is now, I'd put another flower, maybe smaller, and one more, even smaller above Loki. You might need to push those two pics down a bit to fit the flower. This way you've created a visual triangle that zeroes in on the focal pic, the journaling, and your photo montage. On that note, three more swivel brads placed on the bottom left of the pink area suggested for journaling, would create a double visual triangle and suit the same purpose. I like the way the ribbon spans across the spread. Another cheerful good times lo of yours I really enjoyed, Chellby, and a cozy response to the challenge.
SHCG: Great collecton of photos, I think that the pictures should be aligned with one another a little bit more on the right hand side...I also agree with the suggeston to blow up the photo on the left page. itll really help to make the pages porportional to one another in weight.
SHCG: YUM I want a piece of that cake!. The left hand photo is so interesting. You have grabed a picture of anticapation. It's like they are saying "Yes we are poising for this photo but can we eat the cake now!" :) The right hand side is like a wonderful wall of family photos. My only suggestion would be not to interupt the flow of the ribbon. The photos on top of the ribbon look awkard to me. PS LUV the pattern paper and color scheme.
SHCG: I think that adding your journaling will help to add some visual weight to the left side. I like Sharon's idea of moving the flower cluster below the picture. I like the colors you chose and that you managed to get a lot of photos in! Very bright, fun LO!
SHCG - Fabulous 2-pager, Michelle! I love this as is already - the right side is a great multi-pic arrangement of groovy shots that capture the festivities well, love 'em! I like Denitza's ideas for the left side but if you don't want to blow up the pic, I can see moving the embellie cluster as she said to the bottom left of the pic (to counterbalance the brad turns & title on the upper right). I can also see turning the journaling block horizontal & having it overlap the bottom right of the pic a bit. Looks like a really nice time, fantastic BWC response!
SHCG: What a great celebration! I think the right side looks fine with all the pics-I like the different sizes! I think you should add journaling to the rest of the photos with the white pen! My suggestion for the left page is to blow up the photo so it's about the size of the page-leave a bit of a border around it. You can put " a family affair" on top of the pic- right top corner where the sliding door is and put the journaling block on the photo in the bottom right corner! I'll move the photo turns to the left top corner. The flower and swirl and bows-I'll totally remove them or try them in the bottom left corner. If you keep them, I like to see flower and bows, or bows and swirl combo on the right page ,just above the yellow pp , in the space between the middle and the left end of the yellow pp, not in the corner. Also, I'll try to switch the pics around so the guy in the bigger pic on the right page at the top doesn't look like he will walk off the page any minute. The same with the pic of the two peeps at the bottom. I hope I make sense.
shcg; I love the pink but not sure about the bg paper. I agree with Chris that the pics should be rearranged on the right but not sure how at this moment.I think that a grid would come in handy maybe.
shcg: I love the left side! I think the disconnect between the two is how much you have on one side versus the other. There's a slight imbalance, but I'm not too sure how to change that. Maybe move some of the small pics to under the larger pic? Then add a similar flower embellie to the lower right of the right page to frame the whole thing. Just a thought.
This is in response to the SHCG BWC #16 to scrap a day in August. It needs some work. I still have to journal but I am not sure if I should try to add more to the rightside or not (not pictures, embellies). Family came over from Pottsville, PA and we had a barbque and celebrated Scott's parents birthdays...which I found out later we were many months off but since the majority of their family was together they decided to celebrate it.
