My niece Andrea, did a 3-day Avon Walk for Cancer, from Baltimore to Washington DC.
It was a total of 60 miles and she raised $7,000.
She walked in memory of her grandmother, who she never got to meet.
Note: her grandma (pictured) (my mom) died from cancer back in 1967. She was only 35 years old.
(recently the news stated that the govenrmnet is trying to say that women under 50 do NOT need mammograms. I used to think that had my mom been alive today, she probably would have lived, as the medical field has really advanced since 1967. But now, I think she probably would have died anyway.)
