I truly love this LO Jackie, from your wonderful story to the beautiful PP and all the great embellishments. the design is stunning. A perfect "to lift" LO. Favs.
FANTASTIC Jackie!!!! Love that pic of you 2 as "youngters" !!! Also really enjoyed reading the description. Sad when things come to an end................ & I know EXACTLY what you mean about your own ideas & politics!!! What's happened with the timber industry.......... well, like you, I won't go there! I did do a lo about it once tho called "The Spotted Owl Controversy" with clever title work!! Oh, SORRY!! This is supposed to be about YOUR page !!! LOVE it!!!!!
Gosh Jackie..love what you did on the right side of the page...it looks beautiful! My dad and my uncle both worked in the mines in their younger days!! Lovely pic of the two of you!!
WOW...I had no idea you were exposed to the disaster ,so sorry to hear that. Wonderful design on the lo..love how you used the hambly overlay, I just love those things, bought one of their sale packages with 25 of them in it as I had never seen them before and I just love them!
really fabulous! and I thoroughly enjoyed reading your description...personally, I like to hear others political views...especially if they have knowledge in areas in which I have absolutely NO IDEA...such as "coal-mining" - great work here!
Wow Jackie....this is totally awesome! Every night I log in to sb.com (can't access it from work) just to see what new layout your have posted for the day! And you never disappoint! This is another wonderful lo. I love what you are doing with your book of me. This is so special and your sons will be so proud of it! TFS!
Goodness, you did a lot of "pearling"...that's gorgeous! Sad about the loss of life...I could get on a soapbox here also about some things like that, but guess I'll spare others too.
Good idea about including lengthy journaling on the back. I do that frequently so no info is ever lost! It's so wonderful to see the progression of your fabulous 'me' album! I love the way the liquid pearls adds such elegance. Great details and wonderful pp's (I'm so proud that you are using your 'old' stash, too) LOL!
This is a pic of DH and I when we were dating back in 1994. I'm not sure where, maybe just on the back of the page, but I'm going to include some journaling about the "good ole days" of coal mining when this pic was taken. Hard to believe it has changed so much in such a short time. We were dressed for a crew dinner, which was a company thing that they did to promote good morale and comrade, since these men and women held the responsibility for each others safety and even lives in their hands. Coal mining has always been a dangerous and dirty job, but for many years it was a good job, not only because it paid well with excellent benefits, but because of all the big and little extras, like these crew dinners sponsored and paid for by the company every 3 months. The Christmas parties were not only big social events with dinner, dancing and an open bar, but yearly production and safety bonuses were passed out as well. There were also big prize drawings ranging all the way from cruises, to electronics, guns, tools, to $15 gift cards. It is very disheartening to have witnessed all of that disappear so quickly, along with the oversight that guarded safety so that we experienced the disaster which claimed the lives of 9 of our men. I have my thoughts on why all this has happened, but while I will share them with my prosperity in my journaling, I will spare you all my politics! You're welcome!
I used fancy pants "Vintage Summer" pps, which is kinda funny since this is a Christmas page! The transparency is Hambly, the chipboard is some old Chatterbox I have had in my stash forever and I just added some doodling and liquid pearls.
