The journaling reads: On June 2 2008, Avery was playing with Ceilidh (my parents dog) and fell head over heals down our basement stairs. He was hysterically crying and became very quiet. (I assumed it was just the shock of him falling)
Everything seemed to be ok. Avery went to Benjamin’s to play while I took Tasha to the hospital for a NST test. I was at the hospital for 5 min and
I got a call from Benjamin’s mom that Avery just threw up. I immediately assumed that it was due to his fall that morning, and then picked him up and
took him to the hospital. After they decided that they couldn’t do anything
they sent him by ambulance to CHEO where for hours we waited and later
found out that he was developing a fever from some type of virus.
Needless to say I was glad to see that it wasn’t anything to do with the trauma
to his head. But for the next week or so he was pretty sick and not himself. I
will never forget how terrified we were.
