I absolutely love this! You were adorable and this explains your nice handwriting today! I love the Covington Va area, so now you've given us a destination. . . the Humpback Covered Bridge...........we'll find it one of these days!
That is too funny! I thought you were going to say you ordered from the catalog and your parents had a nice suprise when the mailman arrived! Cute photo! Love the you found an image from 1947! Great journaling and darling page!
How cute is that photo.....and your story is just so funny. Mail order was the theme of the day, that's for sure. I LOVE your papers.....love that brand...and you did a great job on the sketch. I love this one Ann....perfect!
For the challenge at Rockin Scrappin Grans using a PageMaps sketch with stitching as the twist and something from our youth that we want our family to know.
Journaling: By the time I was 4 years old, Mother had taught me to print. I could write my name and copy anything. My favorite thing was ordering baby clothes from the Sears catalog. Mother told me that one of my orders was for 1 diaper and 12 blankets. Since the post office in those days would deliver mail with "postage due" to the addressee, Mother and Daddy would have to retrieve my orders before the mailman arrived.
The images beside the photo are Sears catalog images from the internet of a 1947 Christmas catalog which was the closest I could find to the age I was at that time.
