"How do you recognize that magical moment when a relationship takes that subtle change from light & casual to something more? In our case it was marked by a simple but symbolic gesture. David pulled a memento from his wallet — a small piece of cardstock imprinted with some now-forgotten girl’s lipstick mark. I can’t remember exactly what prompted the action, but I can still see him tearing that paper kiss into pieces on that memorable night.
The event was immortalized by a quickly snapped photograph and we both knew that we had entered a new phase in our relationship."
