Oh my...looks like we almost photographed the same flower! The Butchart Gardens is THE place to take flower photos. This lo is so lovely...the mask, the pretty stitching, wonderful pps and of course, that very special piece of lace. Gorgeous!
How timely to have the bee drop by when you took the photo! Reminds me of a college photo class trip-a student waited for a bee to leave a thistle....The prof & I just shook our heads in confusion!
Very pretty! Great shot of the rose, love the bee too. Love that paper and the way you did this LO! pretty lace too. Great job on that stitching too, Patty! No I don't wish it were orange.LOL Roses look best when not orange anyway. ;)
It's so cool that you incorporated the old lace -- it matches so well. Love the stitching around the edges and the cute little bumblebee :)
Where did you get the leaf ribbon? I haven't been able to find any since I moved out of ID and I really want more!
OH MY!!!! Patty this is absolutely gorgeous. I love the bee that in on the flower. The colors are perfect but I LOVE the lace the most. What a sentimental way to use the lace. This inspired me!!! xoxo Ginger
Really beautiful Patty. Were you nervous to use the lace?? You made such a lovely layout with it - I'm sure your grandmother would love what you did with it. Wonderful work and Favorite!
WOW - the lace is absolutely exquisite!! The photo is just stunning and all your stitching is simply remarkable - so neat (which I love because I have some OCD going on - LOL - just kidding). Spendid layout!!!
ooooh, ahhhhhhhhh, the soft pinks of the BG pp is LOVELY! We really enjoyed our trip to Butchart Gardens too, and what a special way to capture your visit there by making a beautiful page highlighting a fabulous blossom. I especially like the title work....letters placed on leaves. Clever! Love the masking.lace & sewing...favs. xxxxxxx
This is truly a work of art. Love those birdcages. How wonderful that you have your grandmothers lace in this. Now you have the past and the present combined. totally gorgeous!!!
Awwww Patty - everything about this is GORGEOUS to the 10th power!!!! Love the birdcages! Stitching and the little leaves are amazing! That picture of lil' busy bee and that gorgeous flower....sweet treasure of the lace....such a lovely thing for you to share with us. Love all of it, Patty....makes me wish for spring to hurry up and get here! WCSG, M
This is a photo I took while visiting Canada's beautiful Buchart Gardens. The lace is from my paternal grandmother's collection, and is more than 50 years old.
