i love the handcut flowers combined with the stripes and how you did the top right corner, journaling strips are awesome and what cute pictures! I love the one with the mirror!
I know I have seen this before, but I just got a spark of inspiration and wanted to thank you. For awhile in the forums I have been posting about how difficult it is for me, as a beginner, scrapping my childhood (since it was 15+ years ago.) However, I never thought of journaling about my current experiences through previous pictures. Great idea, thank you so much!!
Wow Angela, this is beautiful!! I love the upper right corner and that striped paper in combination with those flowers is stunning! Thank you for describing how you did this, I always find that useful!!! I love it! TFS! xxx Peggy
About the pictures: These are photos of me taken during my first year (back in 1966).
About the journaling: “She grew up…and even though the journey has been rough, I am the most content I have ever been at 42 years old. I aspire for a new tomorrow, and I reflect on my past, knowing it made me who and what I am toady. I do not wish for a different past, I do not hope things will change, I have grown up and I am happy.”
About the scrapbooking: The idea and title for this layout is a lift from a very talented scrapper I discovered on this site - Scrappy Susan - thank you for your inspiration!
The striped background paper and the brightly colored flowers are from a paper pack sold at Target. The paper is actually covered with black velvet trim – very 60's! I hand cut several of the flowers and placed them on the page with some of the edges overlapping the photos. I cut down the edges of the upper right corner and then rolled back the stripes, inked them slightly, then placed a square of some of the black and white velvet patterned paper that was part of the paper-pack underneath. I colored the white to match the rest of the colors. I inked the edges of the photo mats and the journaling strips. I added beads on wire wound up in spirals that I have had for eons and don't even know where they came from….
