Here's another trick use: Whenever I use ribbon or fibers on a card, I add a tiny bit of Fray Check on the cut ends. I buy it at Michael's or Joann's. All I do is touch the tip of the bottle to the ribbon and just a tiny bit gets soaked into the ribbon. So far, no discoloration. It also works on lace. Sometimes I pre-treat the area of the lace (or ribbon) where I plan on cutting. I let it dry and it stiffens up the material...I get a crisp, neat cut.
I Googled an apron template and printed it on Bazzill cardstock. The elements came from a digital kit. The element at the top was made on Print Shop, layering the elements and adding a name. Then I printed it out on 8.5"x11" clear label paper, available at Staples, Office Max, etc. Then just cut around the image and voila! Clear, customized stickers! I use this method a lot. Just remember, anything pure white in your image will come out clear on the sticker. To get around this, you can stick it on white cardstock then cut it out to make an embellishment. You can add glitter, rhinestones, etc. and you'll have one-of-a-kind embellishments!
