This is from our mini-vacation to Taos the first second week of August. We did a bit of a "scenic tour" one afternoon, driving the circle of enchantment, and also stopping at the San Francisco De Asis church. It's buildings and history like this place that make me think I could be a Catholic! The architecture of this church is just incredible!
It wasn't very hot, and it was VERY quiet, so we took some time to just sit on the benches and spend some time in peaceful prayer and meditation. It was almost as great as my own "church of the back porch and a cup of coffee."
I'm going to scrap the photo on the left again. It is one of my favorites from our vacation, and I want to really showcase it in fluff and stuff and fuss and frame it. But it also needs to live in my vacation album, so I scrapped it up for today's sketch at the 30 Day Sketch Challenge that Jami Bishop is hosting.
I'm also turning it into the following :
1. ABC Challenge - JKL, jewels, keepsake, and lace. The title is clipped from the program brochure that we picked up at the chapel, and the cross is something I picked up as a keepsake in Taos to remember the day we came to this chapel.
2. Scrap by Color - Analogous Color Scheme. The dark paper LOOKS blue on my computer, but it's actually a very dark grey. With the golds, rusts, and greens - it's just a soft, peaceful color scheme to match the soft peaceful feeling of the courtyard of this building.
