You really made the photo the centerpiece of this new version! I agree, the purple really overwhelmed it, and it deserved the place of honor. This has a much more homey and loving feel to it!
I am impressed. Not only is this a fabulous makeover, it's completely redone with scraps from your stash. The large heart is a wonderful creation and definitely emphasizes the sweet love in the photo.
Pat this is an awesome makeover. I love how the paper colours have also transformed the vibe of the photo. Your punch work always inspires and I need to remember to do more. Every time I see your work I say - don't forget the punches! Yep purple is not you but these colours are perfect. Love the distressing and the fact it is all leftovers. Great doover job.
I love that bottom half...wow, how clever are you?! You don't see enough purple in scrapping IMO...and this is so much GOOD purple. I love the pic. Puppy love! Nice background too!
Oh, this layout is gorgeous!!! LOVE your paper, and the stitching, and that border punch, and your flower...and the saying...and that added bling on the flower paper...fun layout!!
This is my February Do-Overs and Leftovers projects.
I've grouped my original project with this one so you can see where I started and why it was important to me to do this one over.
Let's start with the fact that I never work in purple. It is *not* my favorite color, and I find it hard to work with. And that poor flower that I just submerged in purple stickles trying to make it more beautiful, which in its case was pretty much hopeless.
The original project was one that I threw together back when I was working for my LSS and my boss wanted something to "put on display today." She wanted me to use up some last sheet papers, and some brads that were the last in a class kit. I managed to get the project done, but I wasn't particularly happy with it. I'd even forgotten all about it until a friend of mine was as my house looking through some of my albums and ran across it.
Ewwwwww....... Ok. So it definitely needed an update.
I also try, whenever possible, to combine my Do-Overs with my Leftovers challenge because -- well, they're old layouts that I'm unhappy with for one reason or another, but at least they are DONE, and done is always better than perfect.
Except for this particular one. LOL
Anyway, this is a photo of me and the late, great Cowboy, taken back in 2010, and I am much happier with the way this project reflects the feelings evident in the photograph of the two of us.
