Hidden Journaling:
Yes, I’m admitting it: my darling David is a sci-fi geek! He is the guy who likes spaceships, robots, aliens, time travel and alternate universes…but wait, there’s more! He’s also a fan of dragons, elves, sorcerers, zombies, vampires, werewolves, monster mutant fish…pretty much anything that pushes the limits of imagination is his cup of tea. You can definitely tell which movies are his and which are mine in our DVD collection. See if you can tell! Blade or The Notebook. X-Men or Enchanted. The Lord of The Rings or P.S. I Love You. Do you see any kind of pattern developing? And then there is his reading. Oh yes, my man reads every single day! The picture on this layout only shows the tip of his literary iceberg and it’s growing bigger everyday. He would be happy if all I ever got him for every gift giving occasion was a book. At least he’s easy to shop for, right girls? All of this sci-fi/fantasy obsession of his did kind of overwhelm me when we first got together, but only because I didn’t understand the vast imaginative abilities that books and movies like that required, and that David himself possessed. Once he actually got me to open myself to this world and allowed him explain the different books he was reading and I sat down to watch one of his movies did I begin to see that there are so many interesting things I had been missing merely because I honestly thought that the world of sci-fi/monster/fantasy was kind of stupid. That world though is what inspired my darling David to become a writer and really keeps him young at heart; two things I absolutely love about him. So say what you want about those geeks standing in line at the movie theater to watch Zombieland…chances are I’m standing arm-in-arm with one of them myself. :)
