not your ordinary zoo trip pg1

my son and i
Journaling:
Imagine: this was not an ordinary trip to the zoo with toddlers or elementary school age children. this was a twenty year old college boy with his bewildered mother going to take a look at animals in the HOuston Zoo. Why was i bewildered? because, what 20 year old boy would not only accompany, but even suggest, that we take a trip to the zoo- just him and me? i thought he might have some earth-shattering news to impart, or he wanted to hit me up for a loan, but neither was the case. apparently, he just wanted to spend some one-on-one time with his mom. we talked of many things that day- memories, hopes, dreams, and goals. it was a perfectly pleasant afternoon with a young man who happened to be my son. i don't know if there will be another day like this, i hope so, but i will never forget this extraordinary trip to the zoo.
