while visiting my mother recently, i snapped some photos of her. when i got them developed, i noticed how old she was looking, and i became concerned. i lost my dad a few years ago, and that shook me up, but i hadn't notice how old my mom was. then, when i realized she was 80 years old, well, it inspired this layout, and this poem.

poem inside folder:
Lines etched in a face so strong
I remember times when i was young
I'd look at you, and test your will
You'd look at me, and love me still
And through it all, you never caved
You bore it all, and still you gave
And now i see a face so worn,
Still giving love, and I'm still torn
For now you're old, and i'm still here
Withholding love, because i fear
I'm trying Mom, i hope you know
To let my feelings for you show
If i fail, it's my mistake
It's my pain, my heart will break
So know this now, while i'm still brave,
I return, in full, the love you gave

Thanks for being there when i needed you, Mom. Dec. 2005
