this is a great idea and I'm going to get me a few rods, I have so many punches and this is a excellent way to store them and keep them in full view. Love it!
I hang my flag on our front porch from this same rod! I bought mine at Fred's Dept Store. I have 2 rods in my craft room to hang LO's & craft magazines on. Never thought about the punches tho, great idea!
I have not come across that issue... though I am very gentle with my paint job. It would be a good idea to put some felt dots on the bottoms of the punches where they do touch it though. Thanks for the idea!
I've seen several people do this. Nice idea. I have to ask though... does it scuff up the wall to have the punches leaning against it and moving them around?
Nice that you can actually see your punches. I like that. Also like that this adds a decorative element to the room as well as being functional. Great idea.
Here is my little corner workstation. You can still see the MDF board counter tops. We were testing it to see if it fit. It will be routed and then painted white.
My storage here is some very inexpensive (5.99) rods from Factory 2 you. They are the smallest ones they make an they are NOT extended. I wanted both rods to be inside one another for full support under the weight of the punches. If you look closely I also mounted the brackets in about 4.25" from the edge of the rod. This too was to help evenly support the weight of the punches. Why 4.25" Well, the width of two of the Martha Stewart punches is 4" so I gave them a .25" room between each other. Here I have room to grow and I might go back and get a third rod for six bucks just to have another one for more growth.
The red bowl houses all my little punches and the CM ones won't work on the rods So they are stacked here until I figure something out.
