you really did an awesome job on this! really loving your negative space designs! I have a hard time doing them as well....somehow, I tend to FILL the page :) but I absolutely love the look of them!
Such a cute page - love how you did the wording! Great colors, too! You did a negative space page!!!!! (don't you think it needs a little something else??? LOL!!!!!!!)
I loooove clean layouts: creating them as well as looking at them and enjoying the simplicity that comes with them! All my thumbs up (let's say, five or so lol)!
Susan, this is totally fab. I absolutely LOVE the word piece. It's a terrific effect. Love the tip, too, on making large scallops by using a circle as a guide. Gonna remember that! The red really pops against the teal. Sweet sweet pic.
Negative space is very hard for me too, I love what this challenge created for you though.. Such a peaceful and simple place the kids were, kinda pairs well with a simple (negative) page. Love the design
I absolutely love this!!!! The colors are so striking! Your words cut all in once piece looks very cool! Adorable summertime photo and layout. A fav layout!!!!!!!!
I know it's hard to do negative space when you're so used to adding lots of embellies...but you really nailed this one, Susan! I LOVE how you created your own border along the bottom, and the color palette is perfect with this great pic! Awesome title, too! LOVE this to pieces, my friend...and thanks so much for playing along!!!
I did this layout last night for the Negative Space Challenge that my friend BarbG is doing this month. I {{rarely}} do a layout with so much open space and so it is definitely a challenge for me. All papers are from MME. The big scallops I made using a 2" circle as my template. Then I punched the stripe piece with a MS punch, cut a thin strip of the red paper and layered it on top of the striped paper. Then added a little doodling on the thin red strip and the big scallops. The words are cut with the Silhouette - all one piece. I thought that turned out kinda cool. I made the photo corner from half of a square -- just trimmed it down with my scissors. The flowers are punched and I added a little doodling and a tiny bling to each flower. The beads on the scalloped are called Robin's Eggs and are half beads. It took all my will power to STOP at this point. So...I guess it's finished! LOL!
Photo is of DGC, Adam and Katie, when they were on vacation in the Smoky Mountains in 2007.
